THE GOD EATER

Then he said, ’What I’m I saying? Of course I know the sects. At leats i know The For Directional Sect to be a sect for scamming and taking advantage of people.’

’Since I know the sects, then it is all but certain that they are scamming us somehow. In fact, I am sure that the sect is the ultimate winner when we create Divine Positions, not we divine beings.’

After grumbling, he calmed down a little bit. Then he made a mental conclusion to himself, thinking, ’These Divine Positions are like Dao Statuses. Their power comes from the Supreme Metac. Which means their power comes from the sect, not the Divine Positions themselves.’

’I can’t combine Dao Statuses from different pathways, so I can’t combine the power of Divine Positions either. Only the highest Dao Status will take effect. So, at the end of the day, I will have to consume a rank 7 Divine Position. No amount of rank 6 Divine Posoi eat will cut it.’

’This special situation of Divine Positions is probably how the sect can take away the cultivation of a divine being. All the sect needs to do is withdraw their Dao Status. After that, no matter how stubborn the divine being is, their status will fall, and they will return to being mortals.’

’Fortunately, I have Fenrir to rely on. With Fenrir, my true cultivation is independent of my Divine Positions. That way, I won’t end up like a fool when I try to turn against the sect and become a Dao Lord. Fenrir is my insurance against being scammed by the sect.’

He was still talking when Muni woke up. So he paused his thoughts to let Muni take him to the sect secretariat to register. From there, he executed his updated plan with Gold Body.

The first thing he did was to go looking for Rusty Bolts. When he found Rusty, he converted the rank 4 forger into a puppet. Then he sent the new and improved Rusty to attack the city.

As usual, the Thorn House of Commerce sent the runt of their alliance to deal with the disturbance in the city. So Gold Body came to the city to deal with Rusty.

Gold Body came to deal with some unusual mortal, and probably gain a new Divine Metac. But what he encountered was vastly different from his expectations.

A few seconds later, he realized that he had walked headfirst into a trap. Unfortunately for him, it was too late by the time he realized this. Fenrir devoured him and left nothing behind. Then Loki took up his Divine Position and became the new Monarch Gold Body.

DIVINE METAC(RANK): Rewind(6). Splitting Edge(6). Mind Freeze(6). Nanite(6). Vengeful Bones(6). Gold Body(6).

The devouring of the old Gold Body gave him 316 years of lifespan and 152,863 units of law fragments. This increased the amount of lifespan he possessed from 23 years to 339 years.

His possession of law fragments also increased from 21 units to 152,884 units. This increased the amplification from his law fragments from 100% to 500%.

He nodded in satisfaction while looking through his attributes with the Power Identification Ability. Then he began thinking about his plans for the future.

His plans made him say to himself, ’Should I wait here and go through the normal route, or should I escape and kill anyone who chases after me? I did say that I want to fight more divine beings, so I should consider this question seriously.’

After considering this question, he smiled and said to himself, ’Let’s run. At most, I will restart if I draw too much attention, like last time, or if Money Body comes after me.’

Since it wouldn’t cost him anything aside from some time, he decided to give this daring plan a shot. So he didn’t wait for Forced Exchange and Life’s Worth to come after him to interrogate him. He tore open a gap in the barrier of the dimensions and escaped.

The good news was that this plan worked in creating a lot of enemies for him. His act of running was seen as an act of weakness, so Monarch Life’s Worth and Monarch Forced Exchange weren’t the only ones to come looking for him.

A third divine being named Monarch Wealth’s Status, and a fourth one named Monarch Money Construct, joined the hunt. Both of them were money cultivators interested in the Gold Body Divine Metac.

These two saw that Loki seemed weak, and it seemed that the Gold Body Divine Metac would be easy to retrieve, so they decided to join the hunt and not make things easy for Life’s Worth. This made four potential prey for him to eat.

Unfortunately for him, he lacked the power needed to eat all of them. To be specific, what he lacked was the lifespan needed to wield the power to kill and eat them.

Normally, three people will inquire about him, and he will block them. All in all, the inquiries would cost him a little over 300 years of his lifespan to block. But things were different this time around.

This time around, the people inquiring about him were more than three. There were more than three because more people were interested in acquiring his information.

The number of people trying to acquire his information was 8. This was twice the number of people hunting him.

He had to block the inquiry of these divine beings at all cost. He had no choice in the matter or they would discover that he was a dragon. So it was a bad thing that he had only 339 years of lifespan to use.
