THE GOD EATER

It seemed he wasn’t the only one who was impressed with the ability of the crystal ant as Nether Flame nodded while Money Body said, “It is indeed not bad. It will do.”

Then Money Body said to her, “Go ahead. Just make sure to prioritize caution over performance.”

This time, he looked at all of them in turn as he said, “I don’t care if we have to wait a thousand years as long as we can get in without drawing the attention of the whole world on ourselves. I don’t need to tell you how disastrous that would be, right?”

The three of them shook their heads to signify that he didn’t need to tell them how bad the situation would be if they couldn’t sneak into the world and would have to confront the world head-on.

When he was satisfied that they were taking the situation seriously, he nodded to Ant Hill to make her move. She bowed before handing her copy of the shield breaker to the crystal bug.

The crystal bug was the size of her palm, while the shield breaker was as big as a large watermelon or football. So the shield breaker was way bigger than the crystal bug. But the crystal bug was able to carry the shield breaker and fly over to Oceania.

There was a blue crystal surrounding the whole world. But this crystal shield didn’t stop the shield breaker and the crystal bug. This was because they were too small to be stopped.

The crystal shield was like a net. Small critters and bugs that are of no threat to the world can pass through the crystal shields without problems. But large beings like divine beings will be blocked by the full might of the world from gaining entry into the world.

Any crystal shield is a problem for divine beings. But the crystal shield of Oceania is extra difficult to deal with simply because it is the crystal shield of a large world.

The crystal shields of small worlds only have passive defense. However, the situation changes when a world becomes a large world. At that point, crystal shields become capable of attacking intruders.

But for their mission, the capabilities of the crystal shield to block or attack intruders are not the greatest problem that they have to overcome. The greatest problem they have to overcome is the crystal shield acting as an early warning system and trip wire that will notify the world to prepare for intruders.

If they can deceive the crystal shield and enter the world without causing any alarms, their chances of succeeding in this mission will become higher. This is why they have decided not to use brute force and have instead let the crystal bug go ahead to create a passage for them.

With the crystal bug gone, they can only wait for the good news. Even though Money Bag had said that they could wait a thousand years for a favorable result, they all became anxious just after ten minutes of waiting.

The three of them became anxious and began to stare at Ant Hill. They were looking at her because they wanted her to give them some good news as fast as possible.

The most anxious one among them was Ant Hill. She was the one who proposed the plan, so if it failed, she would definitely get in trouble with Money Body.

She became so anxious that she began to regret speaking up. She said to herself, ’If I hadn’t been greedy for that infiltration reward, I wouldn’t have jumped out to take the risk like this. From now on, regardless of the success or failure of the infiltration, I will lie low and be more subdued.’

She can only make promises for the future because it is too late to take back what she has done. She can’t actively control what the crystal ant does and can only give it orders to obey. Now that the crystal ant has left her presence, she can’t give it any orders.

She can’t tell it to give up on the mission and return to her. The last order she gave was to plant the shield breaker in Oceania, and it will try to complete this order even if it is the last thing it will do.

With this kind of dedication in the crystal ant, she can only wait for news of success or the news of failure. In the case of failure, she would most likely lose the crystal ant and slow down their mission. This caused her to feel more anxiety than everyone else.

As they waited, minutes went by. They waited for 20 minutes, but there was no news. Then they waited some more.

Time went by slowly as if it were crawling while they waited. 30 minutes of waiting felt like a day of waiting, and one hour of waiting felt like a month of waiting for them.

By this time, all of them had a bad feeling about the outcome of the attempt. After all, it shouldn’t have taken this long to reach the surface of Oceania and plant the shield breaker.

If it is taking so long, it can only mean that something that should have been simple has become complicated. This caused the way the three of them were staring at her to change.

Instead of looking at her with eyes full of expectation, they were now looking at her with eyes full of disappointment. One of them was even angry, while the other one had a teasing expression on his face.

The angry one was Nether Flame. He was angry at her for taking the risk and jeopardizing their mission. He had to be angry because once the chances of failure of the mission increase, the chances that he will die on this mission will also increase.

The one with the look of immense disappointment on his face was Money Bags. The one who was taking the opportunity to enjoy her misfortune was Loki. He had a teasing smile tugging at his lips as he stared at her.
