The First Store System

Chapter 64: Counter Shield

The smiling expression Aakesh was wearing disappeared after he returned to the store. ”Wow, you can act,” Lily laughingly commented. She wasnʼt allowed to speak while Aakesh was in front of Punta.

The next moment, Lily disappeared from his head and reappeared in front of Aakesh on the ground. ”Look, how strong I am,” She commented while touching her invisible biceps.

Aakesh only sighed, seeing Lily mocking him. ”Hmph, youʼre no fun,” Lily complained after getting no reply from Aakesh. What was the point of mocking if whomever youʼre mocking doesnʼt respond?

A smile spread across Aakeshʼs face, seeing Lilyʼs complaining face. ”Look, Iʼll torture him with an overpowered attack,” The next moment, Aakesh snapped his fingers as the scene of Lily killing johnny in less than a nano-second appeared in front of Lily.

”Hmph!” Lily only scoffed in response. ”Instead of acting like a fool, why didnʼt you just add the memory of your talking with the king to his mind?” She asked as she had been thinking of the reason behind this for a while.

”Oh, that was due to the quest. I am confident that if the king bought products after I planted the memory of our conversing, the system would refuse to accept the products as sold due to using a loophole. But now that I had personally talked to him, if he would buy from the store, it would be counted as the sold product in the mission,” Aakesh answered Lily.

”Hey, system, am I right?” The next moment, he asked the system to prove his plans.

[Yes, Host. If you implanted memory of the friendly conversation in someoneʼs head, it would be against the ethics of the store, so neither will you get a commission for the product you sold nor would it be counted in the quest. Instead, you would get a warning.]

The system responded in its mechanical and emotionless voice.

”Now, letʼs check the details about the skill,” Aakesh muttered after getting the confirmation from the system. He eagerly then thought of the status screen, and the next moment a blue window containing the information about the skill appeared in front of him.

Skill name: Counter Shield,

Ability: It allows the owner to create a shield around them. The generated shield could also reflect the damage it receives.

Aakesh had an astonished expression after seeing the explanation of the skill. It not only had the ability to counter the damage it received, but it also had the ability to store the damage. If he could save enough damage, he could even kill Immortals. He already had made plans to collect the damage. But the next moment, the system poured cold water on his hot excitement, and it vanished like a vapor after that.

He thought of making Lily attack the shield by using her most powerful skills, and he would then collect the damage for future use, but the system told him that it would only store the damage caused by his enemy.

”Lily is my enemy from now on,” Aakesh suddenly jokingly announced.

The system didnʼt respond anything to his announcement. Aakesh may have been sad about not being able to store damage caused by him and Lily, but this skill couldnʼt come at a better time.

He had been defeated by his opponent just a few hours ago because he didnʼt have a single skill to defend. ”Hey, system, would the damage I received during training count?” He then asked the system as he would only fight virtually until some powerful being arrived.

[No.]

The system simply replied a no. Aakesh only clicked his tongue in response as he expected this answer.

Aakesh then thought of the quest screen, and the next moment a blue screen containing the details of the mission appeared in front of him.

[Mission objective: Sell products to ten customers,

Requirement: You need to have multiple customers if you want to have a famous store. Sell your products to ten customers in a week,

Number of products left to sell: 10/10,

Days left: 6,

Mission reward: A new product and addition in the pill varieties,

Failure punishment: Sales commission will be reduced to 0.5% of the productʼs price.]

He shook his head disappointedly, seeing he still had to sell ten products and he had only six days left. He then went up to the door and looked at the sky. The sky has turned red as the time was not far from the setting of the sun.

”Only five days are left now,” He murmured. The Bisan Kingdom doesnʼt work at night, so there was no point in the store staying open at night. Since the time was not far from the arrival of night, he decided to close the store for the day.

He turned around and was going to close the door when he heard someone calling me. He turned back and saw Maria running toward him while waving his hand and shouting, ”WAIT!”

Maria came running down here because she heard the news of the entire Schiller family getting extinct.

”Senior, did you kill the Schiller family?” She asked the question right after entering the store.

”What are you talking about? I just came from the royal palace,” Aakesh expressionlessly responded.

”If not you, then who would dare to kill all the members of the Schiller family,” She confusedly murmured after Aakeshʼs refusal. She accepted his answer right away as she thought he didnʼt need to lie to her.

”Who knows? If that was all you wanted to talk about, you should leave now. I am going to close the store,” Aakesh expressionlessly responded and told her to leave.

A wry smile appeared on her face as she responded, ”See you tomorrow!” and turned around to leave.

”Why would I see you tomorrow? I told you, you should only buy pills when you need them,” He responded. He didnʼt care about her buying, as even if she bought, it still wouldnʼt be counted in the quest.

”Itʼs a surprise!” A smile spread across Mariaʼs face as she smilingly responded and left the store.

”What a weird woman,” Lily commented after Maria left.

”What has that got to do with us?” Aakesh responded as he didnʼt care for whatever Maria was going to do. He then closed the store for today and went to his room.. With that, the second day for the store in the Anga continent ended.
