The First Legendary Beast Master

Chapter 1921 Bring Badgers

The Manticore fell only three minutes after the giant worm had, its body scorched nearly unrecognizable by Hawkʼs flames, but the Earth Golem was still going strong, so Karl had Opal spread [Illusionary Domain] as far in Danaʼs direction as she could.

Once that boss was dead, they would conjure an army of Dwarves to mine out the dungeon, sweeping the area with [Illusionary Domain] as they went so that the dwarves could travel the entire dungeon looking for resources that the rest of them might have missed.

There was no rule about preparing in advance, only that they werenʼt supposed to start mining until all the bosses were down.

The Elders of the Yizimon Clan sensed the change as two of the three bosses died within minutes of each other, and shared a concerned glance as they calculated the resources that they were going to get out of this dungeon.

If Karlʼs team got any faster, they might actually have to recompose their team with faster miners instead of using a group that could theoretically defend themselves if a boss escaped containment.

That would be a huge risk, but they did have a few weaker mining specialists who could bump up their production speed if they brought them along.

The junior certainly wouldnʼt complain, as they got Clan Credit for the effort.

Everyone was working their hardest to complete the first mining section, their highest paying resource option, when the notice came that the third boss was down.

[Cara, I have given you badgers, make good use of them and go get us some loot.]

Cara laughed hysterically as she led a hundred badgers to tear apart the dungeon, looking for anything worth taking.

And some things that likely werenʼt.

{Buried Treasure Found} Tunnel Worm Nest

Rae cheered as Cara howled with laughter. They had found the mobs that belonged in the dungeon. They were all buried as food for the Tunnel Worm and its offspring.

Offspring that she had just released when the badgers dug through the wall to bypass a hidden door.

{Tunnel Worms Remaining} 300

”Karl, you go protect the miners. I am not taking the brunt of their anger for this one.” Dana insisted.

”Yeah, itʼs likely better that I tell them. Theyʼll accept a lot more nonsense from me than from you. They know that you wouldnʼt do anything crazy enough to cause this.”

”What are you even going to tell them?”

”That weʼre all terrible at dungeons, and we found the hidden door that led to the actual treasure, of course. I know where it is now that the badgers dug to the other side, so they can clear it next time that they come in as well.”

Dana rolled her eyes. They didnʼt even kill the bosses when they came here alone.

But didnʼt a nest full of Tunnel Worms suggest that the dungeon wasnʼt actually intended to be nothing but bosses?

If they had simply been missing the entrances to the hidden parts of the dungeon this whole time, then they had likely been leaving the vast majority of the loot up for grabs. And not just because they were time-limited.

As she rushed down the tunnels toward the other worms, Rae began giving instructions.

[Cara, donʼt start another fight before Iʼve cleared out the tunnel worms, but do have the badgers look for more hidden monsters. If they can find a batch of Elementals and one of Manticores, we might have ourselves a proper dungeon run on our hands.]

[Of course, what are Sisters for? Iʼll find any possibility of other monsters in this dungeon.

Oh, and you can close that door behind you if you pass through, so the first part of the dungeon is just a stealth mission to get to the trash mobs without pulling the bosses.]

They really had been doing this dungeon all wrong from the start.

Everyone had just accepted that there were no other mobs in this dungeon, tried to kill the three bosses, and mined the ore.

But there was so much more to find.

Rae darted alone through the tunnels, her Golems behind her.

She would summon the Spectral Knights when she got where she was going, as they were very loud, and then supplement them with [Blood Golems] once the Tunnel Worms started dying.

That seemed like the best way, but she didnʼt have long, since Dana was following behind her with the golems and the rest of the team.

Only Karl and a few of his Golems had gone to the mining team.

After all, the Tunnel Worms were all the way down here, and it was rare that a dungeon allowed the creatures inside it to damage the structure.

So, they were unlikely to tunnel all the way up there, if theyʼd never been seen before.

Surely, if they could, they would have attacked at least a few groups by now, and the word would have spread that there were more monsters hidden in this dungeon. But there wasnʼt even a hint of it.

That meant that she got first kill, Rae decided.

The first of them to ever kill the other Tunnel Worms.

There were not many things in this world that could get Rae truly excited like being the first to ever stab a new species, even if it was a species of dungeon monsters. And here they were, in all their glory.

Pathetic tiny versions of the boss, but still worth stabbing.

Well, only tiny in comparison, as they were still ten metres long and two metres tall. But without her swarm of spiders, that would be enough. It was just unfortunate that they werenʼt Epic Grade.

Her forelimb flashed out, and the front of a Tunnel Worm split all the way down the middle, then quickly began to mend.

Oh, that might not be bad. They were squishy, but they healed. Or, they were made of jelly, like a slime.

Either was fine by her.

First, to poison them, and see how that went. If it didnʼt work, then she would boil them with [Blood Destruction].
