The dragon's harem

Chapter 1663: Hands Off! She is Mine!

”Me? You? Capturing me? Aren’t you acting a bit too arrogant for a little pet, human?” The Succubus glared at him with a cold, twisted smile. ”Let’s play a bit then.”

She disappeared, and the snow where she stood exploded into a cloud of white mist. She was moving fast, too fast for Agnar to see. That told him everything that he needed to know about this fight. He’s outclassed, and he must find a way to trick or catch her off guard.

His arm moved, and he turned around as fast as he could, blocking the backstab at the last moment. The succubus wasn’t using any weapon, just her bare hands and her long, terrifying, knife-like nails.

He knew this succubus was far stronger than the devil from before. She wasn’t here to just seduce and play around. Besides, her approach resembled nothing of what Abel explained to him.

Agnar couldn’t think for too long because right after the first strike, the succubus’s second hand came in like a blinding flash.

As Agnar blocked another strike and felt his bones almost cracking under the dreadful impact, his small body was flung back with enough force that he shattered several small spruce trees before coming to a halt.

If she had aimed for his head, he would’ve been knocked out clean, but she didn’t. She did call him a pet, so she is trying to capture him alive, the same way he wants to catch her.

He stood, lifted his sword, and pointed the tip at the ground. His eyes changed color, burning bright golden as they narrowed down, focusing on the succubus with disturbing malice.

As he drew more power from his pact, he could now see the succubus’s movements better. She was flying around, staying just above the snow so it wouldn’t hinder her. That gave her a huge mobility advantage against him, who needed to deal with snowshoes.

She flew behind the trees, circled around, and aimed another strike at his back. But this time, she was in for a nasty surprise. Agnar’s face turned at blinding speed, and his arm was just a moment behind, his sword roaring with black lightning.

She saw the attack coming and dodged at the last moment, but not before getting a nasty cut on her beautiful forearm. She smiled from ear to ear, ”You’re getting faster, little pet.”

Her long, sharp, claw-like nails were just an inch away from his eye, coming down in her counterattack. Anyone else would’ve lost an eye, but Agnar was well-trained. He already expected such a counterattack, all thanks to Alcott’s training.

His sword was already swinging to the side, and he deflected her arm away, then used that momentum to lift his foot for a kick. She smiled, blocking his kick with her injured arm, and got sent flying up a few meters with a loud crack.

Agnar’s first attack had cracked the bones of her forearm, and his kick shattered them. Alcott’s teachings, if hitting hard didn’t work, hit hard again in the same spot. If an opponent doesn’t have a weak point, then the place where you attacked it last is the weak point.

Of course, she was fully healed in the blink of an eye. She was far, far stronger and more durable than Agnar himself. The only reason he can still hold on is that she is a spell-caster and not a fighter. The succubus’s main power was her charm, illusions, and mind-control magic, all of which didn’t work on Agnar thanks to his contract with Maharaja.

Seeing that she was up in the sky, Agnar jumped to follow her. His snowshoes dropped, and his boots tore open as long claws burst out, digging their way into the bark of the trees. From one tree to another, he jumped, rapidly climbing up after the succubus like a nimble animal.

Even if he didn’t fully transform, Agnar was still as agile and nimble as a jaguar. Trees were his turf, and he could climb at blinding speed. He wanted to transform so badly, he was afraid and worried. If he misses this attack, he’ll be taken down, and things will just spiral out of control from then.

But nothing risked, nothing gained. And he needs to conserve the transformation for the other devils; he can’t waste it on a single succubus.

The succubus flapped her wings, flying right at him with a grin. ”You can move!”

Agnar kicked the tree he was climbing, sending himself flying toward the succubus with his sword pointed at her with one arm. She dodged to the side, ”Now you’re mine.”

But then, she saw that Agnar’s other arm was reaching into his pocket. He pulled a tiny glass bottle and splashed the contents on her. She was already moving in the direction she dodged at, and he already accounted for that, so she wasn’t able to dodge in time.

Holy water, and one of decent quality. But, she was a high-ranking devil with so much resistance that holy water alone can’t harm her. To take advantage of this chance, she flew right through the water, aiming her claws at Agnar’s chest.

She’ll tank the burn and knock him to the ground.

”It won’t work!” With a crazed smile, she reached forward to hit him.

But when the holy water splashed on her, something strange happened. Her skin boiled, her leathery bat-like wings were reduced to bones, and she fell down, screaming her lungs out.

It wasn’t just where the holy water hit; her entire body was burning.

Before she could know what was going on, Agnar fell on her, stabbing her in the chest, and quickly wrapped a collar around her neck.

”I had that holy water blessed by a paladin of Amaterasu. Get it on you, and the sun will tear you apart.” Here in the radiant white snow, sunlight was plenty.

”That... won’t have hurt me this much.” She growled. Even if Amaterasu’s will burned her, she should’ve been mostly fine.

”Of course, I got that water blessed directly by a goddess. How did it feel? Kali’s destruction?” He pulled his sword from her chest and kicked her to the side. ”Stand up. You didn’t come here alone, right?”

She stood, compelled to move by the slave collar. ”There are... six more... killing, the others.”

Agnar glared at her for a second, then growled. ”Let’s go kill them, shall we?” He grabbed her by the hand. ”Fly!”

The succubus cursed and flapped her injured wings, taking off into the air with great pain. She was too injured to fly on her own, so carrying Agnar on top of it was just too much. But when being forced by the slave collar, she had no say in the matter. She’ll fly and flap her wings until her body gives up or she dies.

”How in Asmodeus’s left nipple did you get a paladin of Amaterasu and a cultist of Kali to work together and bless holy water?” She cried, and Agnar stared at her.

Amaterasu’s paladins are known for their strict mentality and zealous nature. They’ll long die and suffer before letting a demonic cultist live. Demonic cultists are the same, especially those rare ones that worship the harrowing and ineffable goddess of destruction. They’ll never bless anything touched by a divine being.

She didn’t seem to have caught on that he wasn’t joking when he said he got the water blessed directly by a goddess. While most people won’t have those privileges, Agnar was blessed to live in a crazed world where a goddess of destruction would be playing tag with the local, snot-dripping brats of the village.

”I already told you.” Agnar pointed down with his sword at the camp. As expected, a battle had already started. He could see Yuwaku barely holding up against three armed devils, while the forest was boiling in the distance, probably with Obelisk fighting the remaining devils.

Agnar reached into his pocket and pulled another bottle. This one was pitch black and smelled foul. ”You’ll be fighting as well.” He splashed the succubus with the bottle’s contents, and she suddenly felt much, much better.

Her wounds healed, her cursed mana recovered, and she felt power rushing through her veins once more. ”Hold the... cursed water? And one blessed by a devil priestess of Asmodeus?”

”I know one... two actually.” He took a deep breath. ”Let’s go!”

He let go of her hand and dropped straight down like a meteor, aiming his sword at one of the devils attacking Yuwaku. Since the devils were fighting her blindfolded and the echoes of their fight were so loud, they failed to sense or hear Agnar coming down.

”Hands off!” Agnar feel from the sky, slashing his sword down and cut the arm of the devil swinging at Yuwaku, and then kicked him in the face, sending him rolling back in the snow. ”She’s mine.”
