The dragon's harem

Chapter 1495: A Beastial Brawl

Azorn’s fist hit Arad’s forearm, and a deafening shockwave erupted, ripping the ground apart, sending Arad flying back with a tattered forearm.

Just from that one punch, Arad became aware of one thing. Size and weight matter in this fight; he can’t be too big or too small. Arad stood at close to 11 feet tall, while Azorn was nearing 7. That lower height gave the hulking dragon a huge advantage that Arad wasn’t going to allow.

Arad landed on his feet, barely coming to a halt as he started shrinking. When he came to a full stop, he was the same height as Azorn.

Arad shook his arm, and it healed.

”That was a decent hit, heavy, not many can output that much force.” He smiled. Azorn’s punches were heavier than Gamond’s.

Azorn had already surpassed his twilight, and he didn’t just have the power of one element. He was a red dragon, but due to his birth in the nine hells and the thousands of years he spent training there under Maharaja, he managed to grow significantly stronger.

Red, black, and blue, all in one. Fire, acid, and lightning combined with the harrowing physical might honed by the hells.

But now, Arad was done taking hits and was about to go on the offensive. Betty is already out getting Sena, so he only has to buy a few minutes.

Arad took a step and flashed forward, reaching Azorn in the blink of an eye. The crowd cheered, but the hell dragon didn’t even flinch. He moved to the side and smacked Arad’s fist down, countering with a thundering uppercut.

Arad accelerated even further and crashed into Azorn before the uppercut could land, tackling and dropping him to the ground.

When Azorn realised it, Arad was already sitting on his chest, pushing his arms down with his knees with a smile.

”You picked the wrong dragon.” He swung a fist down right at Azorn’s face and then started hammering him down, one hit after another, each shaking the whole arena.

The last punch was overcharged with Arad’s full gravity magic, hitting with enough power to rattle the space Tiamat built. ”To fight!”

With that last punch delivered, Arad jumped back and let Azorn stand. The dragon’s face was already messed up, but it didn’t take long to heal.

”To be honest, I expected your skull to burst into mush. I’m sure you’ll resurrect in hell, as long as I don’t break your soul.” Arad cracked his fists; his knuckles weren’t fine after hammering Azorn’s thick skull.

Azorn flew at Arad with a burning fist, aiming to knock him clean out. But Arad managed to deflect the attack and stepped to the side, throwing a kick.

This time, Azorn was the one putting a snare, before Arad’s kick could hit, he braced himself and ate the kick whole, enduring the damage as he grabbed Arad’s whole leg and swung him around, then before Arad could regain his balance, a fist connected with his face with enought force to ignite the air around them.

Arad’s whole body made several spins in the air, smacked into the ground, and bounced back like a ball, leaving a trail of blood behind him.

”You shall be a sacrifice so no other fool would dare do the same.” Azorn’s face contorted into a raging frown as he took a step forward and then burst into a full sprint on all four.

Arad landed on his feet and burst into a run as well. All the spectators could see was a flash of light followed by countless shockwaves, ruptured ground, roaring fire, and enough deafening blasting to kill a few of the people watching.

What was more terrifying was that neither Arad nor Azorn had used magic yet. Until this point, their battle was purely a physical brawl. All of that fire and shockwaves were just the result of the kinetic power of their attacks, the friction, and the impacts.

Even with all of the barriers protecting the spectators, those in the first rows were getting hit hard; those of them who were mere humans had already had their bones shattered and their organs liquified from the rattling shockwaves.

Tiamat smiled in her seat, ”The fools, this is a test for them as much as it is for Arad and Azorn. The barriers protect them based on their faith in me; the deeper the faith, the more power the barrier will allocate to keep them safe.” She looked at the balcony, ”Don’t blame me for their deaths, Dragon Slayer.”

”Cultists of the Dragon Goddess, they picked their side and chose their life long ago. They had to make many mistakes to end up being brought by you.” Alcott shrugged.

By the second, the battle grew harsher and deadlier. The spectators had to move up the stairs and hide behind the stronger ones to avoid being shredded by the violent shockwaves.

Arad dodged a kick from Azorn by weaving to the side, using Core’s strange dance. But the hellborn wasn’t that easy to lose; his leg kept swinging in a wide arc as he flew after Arad.

Arad lifted his arm to block the strike and protect his head, but the head was powerful enough to crack his bones and smack him to the ground. Even though he was using his full weight and as much power as he could cram into his body with the help of size magic, Azorn was still powerful enough to fling him around.

At this rate, Arad would lose in a physical brawl. Azorn was just far more durable and had several hundred years of experience behind him, unlike Arad, who could count his years on one hand.

That is why Arad was about to pull his trump card, a style he hadn’t used in a long, long time. Not the refined slaps of Dalla, nor the deadly dance of core.

He was going to a more primal style, one ingrained into the very essence of savagery and violence.

Arad’s heart rumbled like an engine as all of his veins bulged. Azorn knew that something had changed, but even he wasn’t ready for the coming burst.

Arad’s whole stance changed; instead of a measured defence and offence, he stood in place, calm and relaxed, but still glaring forward with a face that was about to explode with rage.

When Azorn came in range to attack, Arad’s leg muscles burst into action, shattering the ground beneath his feet as he roared, throwing a mundane front kick right into Azorn’s face, blocking his charge.

The kick came at such stunning speed that the hellborn didn’t even see it, but that was just the start. Arad grabbed Azorn by the nose using his toes and swung him into the air, then back to the ground.

It all happened in the blink of an eye, and when Azorn realised his charge was blocked, he could already see Arad falling at him with a body slam. He rolled to the side and dodged the slam, only to be hit with a headbutt charge, followed by a bite to the neck.

Arad used his powerful back and neck muscles to swing Azorn around, then threw him away. By the time the hellspawn landed, Arad was already upon him again, this time swinging a fist.

Azorn lifted both his arms to block it, and he did; the impact rattled his bones, but Arad’s strength didn’t change from before, so there was no problem, or so he thought.

Arad’s wing muscles hammed on his shoulder, pushing his fist further like a jackhammer, cracking Azron’s bones and sending him flying back with a shockwave unlike anything that had shown before. The punch had more than one impact; it felt like being hit with ten or twelve punches at once.

Arad roared again, shaking the ground around just by his voice. This was the barbaric style of none other than Nina, empowered by his draconic might.
