The Broken Halo

“It’s in my spatial ring. You have it, so you can check it out.”

After hearing Lucien’s words, Simon placed his hand inside his robe and made it seem like he was being out Lucien’s spatial ring from his robe.

He sent his perception into Lucien’s spatial ring, and his brows jumped almost immediately.

’Damn. This brat is fucking rich.’

Simon could see piles upon piles of hell stones in Lucien’s spatial ring.

Simon could count at least twenty piles at a single glance, and that was not even all.

Some of the hell stones were low grade hell stones, some were mid grade hell stones, and Simon could even see some high grade hell stones in a corner of the spatial ring.

There were no peak grade hell stones since peak grade hell stones were extremely rare and were desired by Half-Step Demon Kings or Demon Kings.

Simon’s eyes flashed with unrestrained greed, and the moment Lucien saw Simon’s expression, he could only clench his fists in anger, frustration, and resentment.

And Simon made things worse by what he did next.

Boom!

The frozen sea they stood on trembled violently as a pile of red crystals appeared from out of nowhere.

Ymir and Lucien had stunned expressions, then Lucien’s expression became one of realization.

“That’s my-”

Whoosh!

Before he could even finish words, the mountain of hell stones were sucked into Simon’s spatial ring.

Lucien felt his heart skip a beat when he saw this.

Before he could even react to what Simon was doing, another mountain of hell stones appeared in the same spot.

Whoosh!

They vanished into Simon’s spatial ring.

Lucien felt his heart skip another beat.

’Maybe his spatial ring is of a low grade and he won’t be able to store everything. Yeah. That must be it.’

’Even if he’s talented, that does not mean he’s rich. And I vividly recall how the highest bid he placed was only five million low grade hell stones.’

’Getting a quality and high grade spatial ring that can accommodate everything I have is not easy even if one is rich.’

Lucien felt his anxiety lessen as he had this thoughts.

He was 99% certain that he was right, so even after Simon transferred the fifth pile of hell stones.

’He’ll soon reach his limit.’

The seventh pile.

’He’ll soon reach his limit.’

The ninth pile.

’He’ll soon reach his limit.’

The thirteenth pile.

’He’ll soon reach his limit.’

The fifteenth pile.

Lucien lost his shit.

“What the fuck?! Why is your ring so large?! Why the fuck are you taking my wealth?!”

Simon paused just as he was about to bring out the sixteenth pile of hell stones.

He looked at Lucien, then he tilted his head slightly.

“Is there a problem?”

Lucien gritted his teeth and pointed angirly at Simon.

“Of course there’s a problem! That’s my money! My hell stones!”

“It doesn’t belong to you!”

Simon blinked, then he raised a brow.

“So?”

Lucien froze, and for the first time since he came into this world, he felt like he was going to lose his mind and he engulfed by the flames of fury.

“MOTHERFUCK-”

Whoosh!

The Chaos Wraps suddenly extends from Simon’s arms and curled around his mouth down to his waist.

The curses and fury he was about to release on Simon and the world was stopped by a piece of ’cloth’.

“HMMM! HMMMM!!! HMMMMMMM!!!!!”

Lucien’s eyes became blooshot as he watched Simon bring out piles upon piles upon piles of his hell stones.

At some point, Lucien fell on the ground trying to reach Simon, and he started moving like an earthworm that was covered in salt.

Simon glanced at the Frostborn prodigy with slightly raised brows.

“Aren’t Frostborns meant to be calm at all times? And you’re the prodigy of the Frostborns again.”

“That’s disappointing.”

Simon shook his head slightly, then he continued transferring Lucien’s hell stones into his spatial ring.

And Lucien could only watch.

When Simon brought out his high grade hell stones and transferred them into his spatial ring, Lucien fainted immediately.

Simon glanced at Lucien, then he shook his head.

“One should not be so materialistic and attached to their wealth in life. There’s so much more to life than money.” He said with a disappointed tone.

Ymir gave him a strange look.

’You’re one to talk.’ The Winter Monkey thought.

Simon shifted his attention back to Lucien’s spatial ring, then he went through it.

He saw a lot of things in Lucien’s spatial ring, and the more he saw, the more he realized how poor he was or how rich House Mercer was.

Many of the things were ice related items like herbs, healing elixirs, artifacts, cultivation manuals and so on.

They were not of much use to him, so he ignored them. Though, he took some that he felt would be useful to him once he devours the corpse of Elder Mulon.

And if Lucien were to see some of the items Simon picked, he would completely lose his mind.

Unfortunately for him, Simon was a greedy motherfucker who didn’t give two fucks.

Simon took his time going through Lucien’s spatial ring.

He didn’t want to miss out on something important, so he was extremely thorough.

A few minutes later, his eyes widened when he saw a particular herb that was encased in an ice block.

He brought out the herb, and his eyes brightened like the stars.

“Ice Corpse Flower. It really is the ice corpse flower.”

Simon exclaimed in joy as he looked at the flower that was encased in ice.

The Ice Corpse Flower was a pale blue flower that does not actually resemble a flower. Instead, it resembles a hand… A frozen corpse hand that was reaching out from the ground to be exact.

Frost clung to its translucent petals while faint strands of icy mist drifted from its surface. Thin dark veins also spread across the surface of the flower like cracks in ice, giving it an eerie and deathly appearance.

Even when it was encased in ice, it radiated a chilling aura that made Simon’s skin crawl.

The moment Ymir saw the flower, his expression became solemn and he took a step back.

A flicker of fear could be seen in his eyes.

The Ice Corpse Flower was one of the many ingredients that Simon needed to concoct the Poison Empress’ ultimate creation before her death.

And Simon could not believe his luck that he actually found one of the most difficult herbs to find.

’But is this what Lucien took from Caesar?’ Simon furrowed his brows with a contemplative expression.
