The Broken Halo

Chapter 175: 175: Year Two Initiates

The attack at him was extraordinarily vicious and cunning.

At first, the attack seemed to be a punch, then it became two fingers aimed at his eye.

A punch to Simon’s face would have been alright and would have barely done any manage to his face considering that he was still wearing his mask.

But the individual was so ruthless and cunning to the point that unhesitatingly wanted to make him half blind!

Although the speed of the hand was fast, Simon had the physique and foundation of a demon cat, and if there was thing even some demons with noble races could barely match, it was his reflexes.

Grab!

In the blink of an eye, Simon grabbed the wrist of the owner of the hand, and with a cold light, he squeezed while enhancing his hand with his demonic energy.

His hand glowed with a demonic azure-orange light, and in the next second, cracking sounds was emitted from the wrist he was holding.

But in the next moment, his eyes flashed as the wrist suddenly glowed with an icy blue demonic energy.

This single act prevented the owner’s wrist from breaking completely.

’Quick thinking. Hmm?’

Simon suddenly heard the sound of the wind being split apart, and he ducked forward, his nose nearly touching the surface of his food.

A foot swept above him, and an exclaim of surprise followed the sound of the kick.

Despite the sudden attacks from unknown individuals, Simon gaze was calm and the gears in his mind spun.

He could not see his attackers but through Shadow Sense, he knew how many were surrounding him and their locations.

’Four people. Two have attacked, remaining two more.’

As he was rapidly thinking of what to do in this situation, he sensed the shadow of one of his attackers move.

“Tch.”

He clicked his tongue, then he swung the arm he was holding to his right.

“What the!”

The owner of the arm cursed as he was swung in the direction of his companion’s fist.

Bam!

Simon did not even bother glancing at the result of what he just did.

He moved on to his next attacker.

But what he did next hurt him, and at the back of his mind, he was determined to make these four bastards pay.

He grabbed his plate of food, then he smashed the plate on the face of the last attacker.

Shatter!

Simon was unrelentless, and he continued attacking.

He finally stood, then he punched the attacker’s mask, sending him stumbling to the back once again, then he gave the attacker an uppercut before landing a solid punch that was enhanced with demonic energy on the attacker’s stomach.

Bam!

Cough!

Cough!

The fourth attacker fell on his knees and coughed even with his mask on.

Simon stopped when he saw this, then he calmly looked around.

The entire cafeteria was silent as all eyes were on him and the four attackers, and for the first time, he got a good look at his attackers.

The first attacker who wanted to pierce his eyes was wearing a metal mask that covered only the top half of his face.

He was holding his wrist with a grimace behind his mask, while his companion who was wearing a mask with numerous crimson eye designs on it, was groaning and holding his waist in pain.

Simon had not been gentle when he threw the first attacker at him.

The last two were wearing a glass mask and a diamond mask.

Despite the odd masks these four wore, Simon’s attention was not on that but on their robes.

To be specific, the design on the back of their robes.

’A dagger with a complete blade and not a broken tip like mine or my classmates. Instead, it has a crack running through it from the tip to the base of the handle… A Year Two Initiate.’

Simon’s expression became slightly grave when he realized that his attackers were Year Two Initiates.

What had he done to make a bunch of Year Two Initiates launch attacks at him?

He had only bought food he could eat, but he was attacked?

Why?

The gears in Simon’s head spun, then he came to a few possible answers. Eventually, he picked one and a flash of annoyance could be seen on his face.

’If I’m right… then I’m going to be so pissed.’

Simon walked up to the Initiate with the metal mask.

The Year Two Initiate tried to speak, but Simon did not allow him.

Bam!

He kicked the Initiate’s chin with ruthless precision, causing the Initiate’s head to nearly fly away from his neck.

Bam!

The Year Two Initiate fell to the ground, he was nearly unconscious, but he was bleeding profusely from his nose and mouth.

Step

Simon placed his right foot on the Initiate’s chest, then with the enhancement of his demonic energy, he increased the force behind his foot.

Creak

Creak

The bones in the Initiate’s body made creaking noises as it nearly cracked, and the Year Two Initiate groaned in pain.

“Hey, tell me why you attacked me and maybe I won’t do something worse to you.”

Although what Simon was doing to the Year Two Initiate was little compared to what he did with the others, everybody in the cafeteria could vividly recall how Simon moved and put these famous group of four in this position.

“No response?”

Simon expected this, and he was about to smash his foot on the Initiate’s head, but the Year Two Initiate with the Diamond mask surprisingly spoke.

“We attacked you because you bought an expensive dish even as a newbie slave. We wanted to take your merits from you by force.”

Simon released a big sigh. He could not stop himself from shaking his head with an annoyed expression.

’So, just because I spent forty five merits on the first day and on food, I was attacked? Unbelievable.’

Bam!

Simon slammed his feet on the face of the Year Two Initiate with a metal mask.

“Ugh.” The Initiate groaned.

“For ruining my meal, you’re going to transfer all your merits to me… Every single thing.”
