Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 1069: Chapter 863: The Eager Yinbutu Royal Family

Not to mention that the Toril people have become accustomed to this multifaceted faith lifestyle and can no longer return to that singular belief world, Hill smirked sarcastically. Most importantly, no one will forget how much trouble the Netherese Empire caused Toril back then.

Even though Kalinsan will never reach such heights, that ruthless Supreme God will no longer give Amanata a chance.

If after the Sun God’s resurrection, he still can’t forget the glory of the past and wants to regain the strength he had in the Netherese Empire when he could arm-wrestle with Mystra, his days won’t be so easy.

Moreover, he was able to achieve it at that time not because he was strong enough, but because Mystra was pure. If it’s Edna, who has been learning basic knowledge with Black Eye and interpersonal skills with the Undead Tribe, surrounded by elves who are best at pampering spoiled children, with his petty tactics of cajoling and deceiving… he couldn’t even sweet-talk Celene, yet he hopes to deal with a brand new Midnight?

Hill’s fingers moved slightly, making two copies of the books he had finished transcribing, handing them over to List for processing… one to be placed in the magic tower within Purwell’s body, and the remaining copy to be naturally sent to the library of the half-plane.

He held a stack of books and walked into the small garden, sitting again in his old spot. The Undead Tribe’s magic ship could already see the port of Imbutu.

The city of Sassear, located at the entrance of the Eastern Bay within Imbutu’s inner sea, had a once-bustling harbor that now hosted only two or three sailboats… Ships not stored in the dock had long been completely destroyed by the repeatedly roaming Magic Plague Storm.

Now these few ships were merely temporary vehicles sent by the Yinbutu Royal Family to receive messengers from the Undead Tribe… Even though in recent years, the countries near Starfall Ocean have become somewhat desolate due to the Dragon Trouble, they still remain quite wealthy.

And because they couldn’t forget their former strength, when dealing with foreign matters, they always put on a set of appearances that seemed reserved and elegant, but secretly opulent, especially liking to use precious treasures with a long history to hint to visitors just how powerful they once were.

Although Hill always felt this demeanor was unpleasant, he never really imagined there would come a day when he would see an Imbutu that couldn’t even send forth a welcoming team.

And a prince desperately trying to present his elegance, but only leaving an impression of downfall… Imbutu’s princes and princesses have always been famous for their beauty, but standing at the bow of that three-masted ship, wearing a formal dress, the prince only showed his furrowed brows and bald head.

Even though he tried to present a reserved smile, his face was still full of bitterness.

That Imbutu would recklessly seek Agleya’s aid likely isn’t just for the goblins on the Ridge of Giants and the demonkin in the Rolins Forest.

This country is already on the brink of collapse.

‘Snowcloud Peak’ soon appeared with a command group of over a hundred at the bow, Hill couldn’t help but raise his eyebrows as there was a Tasslelin among the Undead Tribe.

The mercury dragon, for some reason, followed them to Starfall Ocean, and it’s quite normal for him to transform into human form, as countries over by Starfall Ocean tend to panic at the sight of dragons.

Although there are quite a few dragons over there, such a creature as the giant dragon never ceases to be astonishing… each one implies big trouble.

Even in Deepwater City, where nearby farms were prepared with plenty of cattle and sheep to offer as tribute to Tasslelin!

That was only after an arrangement made by brave harpists negotiating with Tasslelin for a long time, making the mercury dragon understand that horses, cattle, and sheep running on the ground, especially magical creatures, aren’t for giant dragons to catch and eat at will.

His occasional whims could likely destroy a magical creature, painstakingly bought by a farmer from other countries for breeding… these creatures start at 10,000 gold coins, but a giant dragon might still disdain them as snacks.

Though Tasslelin is overly lively, his personality is quite empathetic among giant dragons… After finally understanding, and receiving tributes from Deepwater’s farm owners, he never did similar things again.

However, other giant dragons are hard to handle, as on a whim, they don’t consider whether what they want is in the wild or a human courtyard.

Indeed, there are many giant weapons capable of harming dragons… but they can only deal with a few, and there are too many near Starfall Ocean.

Even good-aligned golden dragons wouldn’t consider why they face human counterattacks when metal dragons are harmed… if they’re not of my race, their hearts must be different, is almost the lifelong creed for dragons.

Hill turned his head and asked, “Does Terry know what Tasslelin is doing in Starfall Ocean?”

List appeared after a few minutes: “Mr. Terry said that Mr. Tasslelin’s mother used to live near Starfall Ocean, but it’s been a long time since any news came through.

Though he now lives independently, he occasionally wants to know how the family in the past is doing.

But dragons usually have their own territories, and Tasslelin, being the kind of mischief-making dragon, couldn’t have anyone agree to his presence on their territory, so he never returned to Starfall Ocean to visit family.

This time, the undead magic ship, which has long employed him, plans to check out the scenery of Starfall Ocean, so Mr. Tasslelin went along.”

Hill was a little surprised, as Tasslelin had indeed suddenly appeared near Deepwater City… was he coming from Starfall Ocean?

In this case, the Mercury Dragon should have already traveled across the Ferun Great Land, as it’s impossible for him to fly all the way from the Starfall Ocean to Deepwater City.

When he appeared, his attitude towards humans was quite congenial, rarely causing harm, presumably because the adventurers he encountered on his journey didn’t upset him.

This dragon has always had good luck.

However, most giant dragons of similar age to Tasding tend to live near their mothers.

Hill truly suspected that Tasding was so energetic that he got kicked out of the house early… He’s been independent for so long, yet he still loves to tease cats and dogs while flying, diving down to playfully swipe at anything he sees.

Though the White Dragon is quite like a husky, its curiosity isn’t quite as intense.

Tasding perfectly embodies the saying: curiosity heavier than a cow cat, destructive power stronger than a husky dog.

“Snow Cloud Peak” quickly understood why Yinbutu conceived such a welcome mode… When the Temporal Artifact sent a reply, it clearly stated that if the Yinbutu Royal Family was busy, they didn’t need to host them, just send a messenger to guide the way.

After all, once reaching the Eastern Bay, they are within Yinbutu’s territory, and the Undead Tribe doesn’t want any misunderstandings.

Originally, their plan didn’t involve stopping in Yinbutu’s cities… The Undead Tribe long realized these cities in Toril are best viewed from the outside, few cities can be as clean as Agleya.

Even a city like Deepwater City, with only clean main streets, is quite rare… Not counting Agleya and some Elf cities, the City of Radiance truly lives up to its name, at least it’s a city where the Undead Tribe is willing to set foot on solid ground.

Though Luskan is dirty, they assumed it was due to pirates and undead, yet Kalinsan showed them the Mortal World’s reality… The Undead Tribe suddenly understood why Toril would give rise to Worm Mages!

The Yinbutu Royal Family was genuinely pleased with the Undead Tribe’s decision not to enter their cities… Until their Royal Palace fell victim to the Blue Storm’s assault.

The Royal Palace, protected by various enchanted arrays, collapsed in an instant… As in the past, the kings wanted to add some desirable areas to their palace, but clearly, the more imaginative a building looks, the higher the demands on its builders.

Without sufficient computing capacity, those buildings are mere showpiece structures, prone to collapse when a storm hits.

However, this is a world with magic… Various fortifying arrays can be hectically added if the Yinbutu Royal Family has enough money and resources.

Thus, the Yinbutu Royal Palace became one of Toril’s top fantasy sites… Until the blue storm of the Spellplague swept through, destroying all the arrays entirely.

The Yinbutu Royal Family finally realized the terrifying legacy their ancestors left them: there’s no part of the entire palace that hasn’t been renovated, even the open-air gardens are multi-layered.

The beleaguered Yinbutu Royal Family suddenly heard of the Undead Tribe’s feat in Kalinsan—building a Magical Great Wall surrounding Miel Forest in just a few days!

This brought the greatest hope to the Yinbutu Royal Family; they could have a sufficiently sturdy building.

Moreover, they could move to a safer location, like within the forest.

Perhaps through natural protection, the terrifying blue storm never enters forested areas.

Of course, they knew they couldn’t have the same recruitment price as the Little Fairy Queen, but even at several times the cost, Yinbutu could afford it!

Before that, though, they would have to ask the Undead Tribe to clear out Rolins Forest, well aware that even if other forests were safer, they couldn’t hope the Teraxil Elves would help them cut trees for money.

Only Rolins Forest, though its perimeter is surrounded by tall trees, inside there are already vast clearings made by those demon kin.

If it were before, the Yinbutu Royal Family wouldn’t dare to live below the Ridge of Giants, but now hasn’t that succubus couple already vanished?

With the combat power shown by the Undead Tribe, even if the Queen of Succubus could return, she’d surely have no more subordinates left.

The countries near the Starfall Ocean, though their armies are corrupted due to past excesses, still have a few demigod-level strongmen… Such individuals could deal with a single succubus no problem, but asking them to clear out goblins?

The Yinbutu Royal Family didn’t wish to be slapped to death by the strongmen they themselves had raised.
