Surviving The Fourth Calamity

Chapter 552: Chapter 351 The Beautiful Woman Who Guides the Undead Tribe

Spencer glanced at the knights whose faces were inscribed with disbelief and said with a frown, ”No matter what, if you all plan to have your families reside in our camp, you must pass through the faction’s Divine Array and Hill’s oil painting inspection. Only if there are no issues can you move in.”

”His Majesty the King may not care whether spies infiltrate or not, but I am not at ease. Protecting the king’s safety is our responsibility.”

Hill couldn’t help shaking his head at the sight of the indignation and unwillingness bursting out on the faces of a few knights who had been somewhat dismissive all along.

Spencer probably hadn’t intended to be so harsh, but seeing those knights dismissive of William’s words, as William’s loyal subordinate, he certainly wouldn’t be polite.

Hill, who had been hiding in the crowd, no longer looked at the dumb group member who tried to suppress himself, or the Commander Mason who wanted to maintain a superficial harmony, and turned to leave. He might as well just wait to see when William would advance to the Magic Kingdom.

The Radiant Knights Order probably needs to hit the southern wall a few times before they will turn back.

However, at that time, one wonders whether these stubborn team members would still be able to present themselves before Hill.

Unable to do much in the short term, Hill could only deal with the affairs inside the amulet together with List.

Compared to the past Magic Tower, List chose an utterly farming route in the small space inside the amulet.

He had the puppets plow some fields for staple crops and vegetables, all using seeds that had advanced into magical plants, then rearranged the orchard that Hill had planted before, and scheduled the puppets to make desserts, jams, and fruit wines every day.

List felt that for Hill at his current level, things like an Alchemy Workshop didn’t really matter.

But it was possible to fall back on having to rely on food for survival again. Elements might not disappear but could become chaotic and impossible to absorb.

Hill, unable to settle in one place for the short term, could only do more logistics work. At the very least, he would not let Hill have to gnaw on dry bread again.

Hill couldn’t really do anything himself, at most, answer what List preferred to eat, whether he had any new hobbies, or comment on whether the newly brewed fruit wines were to his taste.

Hill’s days were very comfortable. There is a big problem with magic in this world. It has too many strange symbols, which are actually the script of devils. The more one learns, the more of one’s soul is given to the devils.

Unable to do anything, Hill sealed these magic books and handed them over to William, waiting for his decision.

William made his decision quickly.

It was evident that demons did not care what humans wanted to do; they were solely focused on pursuing devils, not caring about the Demon Lords that died at the hands of humans.

If humans were like trash that could be squashed to death, of course, demons would be happy to snack on them, but they wouldn’t give up the chance to please the Abyss and go for hard-to-chew confectionary. Even the most irritable demons didn’t want that.

As for the dead Demon Lord, demons have always been pragmatic; once dead, everything is empty, and no one would care, even those who were on good terms.

Could it be that for demons, a good ally is one that’s dead?

After observing for a while and confirming that demons would not make a move again, William directly ordered the march toward the Magic Kingdom.

Hill stood on the city walls, watching the long procession of the Undead Tribe disappear from view and turned to glance at the camp.

William had already set up a massive Illusion Array, concealing the entire camp.

While Hill couldn’t see what Illusion Array it was, from the noise outside the city, it was clear that once they left and looked back, all they would see was a peak blending with the nearby mountain range.

When the camp reappeared, it meant that the Undead Tribe had carved out a satisfactory territory in the Magic Kingdom for William, and that was when William would move his main camp there. The Star Gate here would only be the starting point in this world.

Or rather, it is everyone’s first step into a new map.

If the Undead Tribe died during this period, they would have to run back on their own or wait to go with William. Of course, they could also wait until William had set up the teleportation array before deciding. Hill thought many people would wait.

The reason Hill came out to see the Undead Tribe off with such unease was that he noticed William hadn’t dispatched a single Supporter. It was entirely up to the Undead Tribe to exert themselves.

Hill wasn’t worried they would lose to anyone—against a regular city, the strength of the Undead Tribe was more than sufficient; there were a full eighty million of them.

Even a Blizzard enough to freeze a Legendary, a demigod would have to step back before them.

But what Hill didn’t understand was, does William really believe that the Undead Tribe can find the great cities of the Magic Kingdom on their own?

Although there were nearly a hundred million of them, it wasn’t impossible to get lost together and end up on the edge, like the Kingdom of the Black Moon.

He walked to the Royal Palace with a full head of question marks: William was live-streaming there, and Hill was still a bit worried. He decided to see the situation for himself.

If it really wouldn’t work out, Hill wasn’t unwilling to follow. He was quite confident in his own ability to survive.

He hadn’t wasted his time here.

Hill had already made contact with the Elemental Realm. Although the Elementals were absolutely unwilling to enter a world ruled by devils, for Rahil to step into the Elemental Realm was absolutely fine.

With the Star Gates in Gerns and Teraxil, Hill could directly go to his Earth element lord’s territory in the Elemental Realm. It was just a bit far and required some effort.

Just as Hill stepped into the door, he heard William’s burst of wild laughter: ”Hahaha, ah~ Have they gone astray just one kilometer out? They’ve already lost their way! Spencer, after they’ve gone more than 5 kilometers off track, remember to remind them!”

”What a pity, I guess the ones following behind hadn’t yet strayed from the right path then!”

Hill looked at William expressionlessly. How did he know whether the Undead Tribe had lost their way?

No wonder he wasn’t worried at all.

All of Hill’s thoughtfulness went to waste!

”Hill, why are you here? Is there something you need?” William leant on the throne and, after having his laugh, finally noticed Hill standing at the door with a wooden expression.

”Your Majesty, how do you determine the movements of the Undead Tribe? Can you see everything in this world too?” Hill asked bluntly.

Back in Teraxil, William could fully control the movements of the Undead Tribe because, in the starry sky, there was the Divine Kingdom of the God of Time and Space as a reference point. But here, wasn’t the World Will of Gerns supposed to be in slumber?

”Silvermoon was just gravely injured to the brink of death.” William stretched languidly, ”Even though she’s still asleep, there’s a trace of consciousness left.

Before Gerns completely succumbed to silence, he gave me the means to connect to that sliver of Silvermoon’s consciousness.

I don’t need her to do much, just to keep an eye on the path, and she can easily manage that.”

Hill sighed, ”No wonder Your Majesty is confident letting the Undead Tribe wander on their own. I was thinking about guiding them myself! I have always admired the Undead Tribe’s ability to lose their way.”

”Of course~” William laughed heartily, ”Even without the help of Silvermoon, I wouldn’t have sent my subordinates to lead the way for the Undead Tribe. Wouldn’t that be sending them to their deaths?

If they end up in the wrong place or fight the wrong people, what does it matter! They’re bound to fight eventually.

I’m not leaving, so how could I possibly let my subordinates take such a big risk!

My people shall not lose their lives for such a reason.”

Hill glanced at the knights who were visibly touched and couldn’t help but laugh.

William’s followers will certainly toil away in his Divine Kingdom for the rest of their lives.

He too can go home and wait for the outcome now.

William watched with amusement as the Undead Tribe amusingly lost their way, ”Hill, why don’t you watch too? If the leader takes one more wrong turn, you can go up on the city walls to welcome their arrival!

How come I feel like they haven’t gone beyond five kilometers since they got back?

Eh?”

Suddenly he stood up, ”Hill, come take a look at this person!”

Hill, who could only see the back of the large screen from the doorway, walked over curiously.

”This is a succubus, right?” William looked at Hill incredulously, ”Although she has neither a tail nor hooves, this is a succubus girl, right? She’s got guts to stop an enemy troop in their tracks. What is she trying to do?”

”It’s a succubus.” Hill looked at the black-haired beauty standing on the chariot at ’Snow Cloud Peak’ who was smiling charmingly and was also a little dumbfounded, ”It looks like she’s giving directions.”

’Snow Cloud Peak’ carefully studied the girl sitting in the back seat of his open-top carriage, and his eyes crinkled with a smile, ”Miss, what do you want to say?”

”I overhead you in the air saying you wanted to go to the Magic Kingdom?” The succubus’s eyes shimmered as she laughed seductively, ”You’ve gone off course. If you continue forward, you’ll end up in the War God Kingdom.

Primary and secondary enemies do make a difference, don’t they?”

’Snow Cloud Peak’ paused, picked up his tablet, and scrutinized the map.

The succubus leaned in closer, ”Look, you’re here.” She pointed at the tablet and explained, ”To the right is the Magic Kingdom. Go another twenty kilometers and you will arrive. To the left is the War God Kingdom, sixty kilometers away.

This is the center of Gerns’ world; every kingdom is accessible. It’s just a matter of distance.”

”Alright~” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ looked a few more minutes and finally confirmed they had indeed gone the wrong way, ”Thanks for the help, miss! But why did you come to me and not our guide?”

”Such a gorgeous and fast carriage, and not many in this long procession,” the succubus giggled.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ fell silent. His carriage was rather modest here, being just one of Hill’s old creations.

There were only a few convertibles like it, and in a vain move, he had rented two.

One was already ruined in the battle of the Abyss, and now the other had attracted the attention of a high-level succubus.

No matter how beautiful the girl was, he dared not flirt with her~

”I appreciate the compliment, but these carriages only differ in looks, their capabilities are better than mine!” ’Snow Cloud Peak’ deflected smoothly. He was no fool; a demon bold enough to appear directly in front of so many of the Undead Tribe was likely something only William could handle.

”But I like yours oh~” The succubus cooed, looking towards the Undead Tribe and winking at him.

’Snow Cloud Peak’ couldn’t help but shiver and gave a forced smile, baring a grin that did not reach his eyes.
