Supreme Sword God

Chapter 966: Chapter 965: The Strongest Opponent

Aurora Island’s forbidden area is the place where the legacy of the Aurora Sword Emperor was left behind.

It can be said that this forbidden area is the very foundation of Aurora Island.

The current Aurora Island is merely a continuation of the most basic elements left by the Aurora Sword Emperor.

With Bai Yi personally guiding him, Ye Chen arrived at the entrance of the forbidden area.

The forbidden area is a small space, and the restrictions left by the Aurora Sword Emperor have specific requirements: anyone who does not meet the age requirement cannot enter.

He wanted to choose young people.

Only those who are young and can break the seals he left behind meet the Aurora Sword Emperor’s criteria for an heir.

”Young Master Ye, the forbidden area might appear to be a small space, but it’s quite large inside. Everyone has only a month inside. If someone fails to grasp the true essence of Aurora Sword Dao within a month, they will be forcibly transported out,” Bai Yi explained personally to Ye Chen.

Ye Chen: ”Isle Master Bai, Aurora Island has been here for many years, could there be no clues? If there are, please tell me, so I don’t have to start from scratch inside, which would be a waste of time.”

Bai Yi shook his head with a bitter smile and said, ”Everything inside is constantly changing. Apart from our Bai Family ancestors, there was also a Spirit Master of Emperor level who set up this restriction back then... So the situation each person faces inside is different. So-called experiences hold no reference value.”

Ye Chen nodded and said, ”Then I’ll go take a look first.”

His martial uncle is still inside, so he has to find him and have a good talk about some matters.

The troublesome guy, even in the Martial Alliance, was not in a favorable situation but never uttered a word, always saying how comfortable life was, only reporting the good news. Does he not consider himself part of the Spiritual Martial branch?

The next moment.

Ye Chen flashed and flew towards the forbidden area of Aurora Island.

”Buzz!”

A special barrier appeared in front of Ye Chen.

This is the first test for entering the forbidden area, checking the age, and verifying the Sword Dao level of the entrant.

Ye Chen instantly drew his sword and slashed out.

”Swish!”

The barrier was torn open with a huge gash, and then his figure flashed, disappearing from Bai Yi and Bai Kai’s sight.

Bai Yi looked at Bai Kai and said, ”Uncle Nine, thank you for letting go of past grievances and returning to help Aurora Island. I have another unkind request...”

Bai Kai said, ”If I’m not mistaken, Aurora Island is facing a crisis now, otherwise, you wouldn’t be so eager to have Ye Chen help renew the Sword Array legacy.”

As a Guardian of the Body Alliance, Bai Kai has experienced much, yet he can’t comprehend some of Ye Chen’s unorthodox actions. For everything else, he’s fully aware of the situation.

He saw it but didn’t tell Ye Chen, because he was quite sure that someone as shrewd as Ye Chen had already figured it out.

Ye Chen’s silence proved he had no intention of getting involved in Aurora Island’s troubles.

Bai Yi: ”To be honest, Aurora Island has caught the attention of the Seventy-Two Islands... That’s why I’m eager to renew the Aurora Sword Array’s legacy, to enhance the Island Protection Array’s power, to fend off those lawless guys from the Seventy-Two Islands.”

Bai Kai frowns slightly and says, ”The bandits of the Seventy-Two Islands are notorious, but in reality, they are not malevolent. Why have they set their sights on Aurora Island?”

Bai Yi: ”If Uncle Nine can ensure support from the Body Alliance, I will tell you honestly.”

Bai Kai remained silent.

This place is near the Nine Celestial Burial Coffins; every situation has to be handled with caution.

Though Bai Kai is the Body Alliance’s Great Guardian, he has no authority to mobilize the Body Alliance’s forces to wade into this muddy water.

More importantly, he has no sense of belonging to Aurora Island!

Currently, he’s labeled as someone concerned with Aurora Island, a role Ye Chen arbitrarily cast upon him during a performance.

......

At this moment, having entered the spatial forbidden area of Aurora Island, Ye Chen paused.

In front of him, a Sword Qi was floating.

Ye Chen had tried to strike it with a sword, but the Sword Qi seemed almost illusionary, impossible to destroy.

Just as Ye Chen felt puzzled, the Sword Qi suddenly transformed into a silhouette.

”Young man, you are strong.”

This was a man whose posture was as upright as a sword, with sharp facial contours and well-defined features.

”You look good, but still a bit inferior to me,” Ye Chen said.

The man’s silhouette remained silent for a long time before speaking, ”Young man, do you wish to attain the legacy of Aurora Sword Dao too?”

Ye Chen: ”The weather is nice today.”

The silhouette of the man was silent for a while again and then said, ”Young man, defeat me, and you may continue onward.”

At this moment, Ye Chen understood.

This was a specific power leaving behind a wisp of will.

His previous out-of-sync conversation met with absolute silence from the opponent, allowing him to conclude the Aurora Sword Emperor had truly fallen, rather than secretly hiding and plotting.

There’s no fear of a strong master, only fear of a cunning one.

Having encountered parasites, reincarnators, and hearing from the Celestial Cauldron Emperor about the perils of being possessed by God’s marks when using Divine Power frequently, he learned to be cautious about matters related to such formidable beings.

Otherwise, one could easily fall victim to such formidable foes at any moment.

”Defeating you isn’t hard,”

A barely noticeable curve appeared at Ye Chen’s mouth, and as the words fell, the sacred sword in his hand slashed diagonally from its scabbard.

The sword light swept out from the scabbard.

The silhouette of the man’s reaction was lightning-fast, instantly also slashing a sword, with sword light blindingly bright, piercing the eyes, even having the effect of blocking spiritual power perception.

However...

Ye Chen’s Martial Arts Celestial Eye was unafraid of this bright sword light.

The strength of Ye Chen’s spiritual power was such that this bright sword light couldn’t obscure his perception.

Ye Chen’s sword brushed closely past the sword thrust by the silhouette of the man.

What seemed to be a closely matched stalemate, suddenly turned as Ye Chen’s foot flashed gold, instantly executing Blink Swordsmanship to move to one side.

The thrust from the man’s silhouette missed its target.

Ye Chen flipped his wrist, sweeping sideways, slicing through the head of the man’s silhouette.

The silhouette’s severed head closed back up, refraining from further attack on Ye Chen. The sword in his hand dissipated, and he spoke to Ye Chen, ”Young man, congratulations on passing the first test. However, to obtain the legacy of the Aurora Sword Dao, this is only the beginning. Continue, and I hope you won’t disappoint me.”

Next,

The man’s silhouette vanished, transforming into a stream of light, heading in a certain direction.

”Is this a test or guidance?”

Ye Chen mused to himself, immediately chased after the direction of the disappearing light.

Before long,

In front of Ye Chen appeared a line of statues.

Each statue exuded a powerful aura, with sea creatures, land-dwelling beasts, predominantly humanoid statues.

In front of these statues stood a stone tablet.

The tablet had several lines of writing on it.

The first line of writing read:

’Defeat the strongest opponent’

Starting from the second line were the rules of the test.

Ye Chen focused, read the details clearly, and once again surveyed the statues before him.

Each statue held the power left behind by the Aurora Sword Emperor, all modeled after powerful beings from the Aurora Emperor’s era.

This second test involved selecting a statue. The power sealed within the statue would activate, possessing the strength of a Quasi-Emperor to fight him. Passing the test meant triumphing over the statue.

Difficult!

Very difficult!

He could handle an ordinary Saint Realm, but defeating a Great Saint was impossible.

Let alone defeating a Quasi-Emperor.

No wonder the legacy left by the Aurora Sword Emperor hasn’t been obtained by anyone. The difficulty of just the second test had already escalated to hell-level.

Even though everyone’s experiences inside vary, others’ tests likely weren’t simple either.

Unbeknownst to him, at that moment within Aurora Island.

Bai Shize, with a grin, found Wan Dao Sect’s Li Chunfeng and said, ”Young Master Li, everything is set. I extracted Ye Chen’s aura from those two losers who fought him and sent it into our Aurora Island’s forbidden area, using his aura to provoke the Turtle Guardian.

Though we can’t interfere with what’s inside the forbidden area, the Turtle Guardian can.

The Turtle Guardian won’t personally punish Ye Chen, but it will certainly direct the hardest challenge at him.

Regardless of whether Ye Chen passes, the ordeal will significantly drain him.

At that time, do as you wish with Ye Chen, Brother Li.”

Wan Dao Sect’s Li Chunfeng laughed heartily and said, ”Bai Shize, you’ve done well this time. Then let’s arrange it, and I’ll also go check Aurora Island’s forbidden area with you.”

Bai Shize smiled and said, ”I’ll accompany Brother Li.”
