Supreme Sword God

Chapter 671: Chapter 670: The Withering of Mu Mansion, Lin Yan’s Resolution

Mu Mansion.

As the residence of the greatest artifact refiner in Cangzhou, its former grandeur goes without saying. Even the mansion’s name plaque was once made up of thirteen magical artifacts.

But now...

The plaque at the entrance of Mu Mansion is gone!

The two magical artifact door rings are also gone!

If it weren’t for the familiarity of the guards at the gate, Ye Chen might have suspected he had come to the wrong place.

”Young Master Ye.”

The guards saluted Ye Chen, then proceeded to lead him into the mansion.

”No need, I can go in by myself.”

Ye Chen waved his hand, familiar with the place.

Upon entering the mansion, Ye Chen noticed that all the decorations made of magical and spiritual artifacts were gone as well.

What’s going on?

Have they been looted?

Ye Chen murmured to himself.

Suddenly, a commotion reached Ye Chen’s ears. In a flash, he hurried over to the source of the noise.

Arriving at the scene, Ye Chen saw Mu Baoming, the young master of Mu Mansion, coordinating people to pry off an ornamental magical artifact from a side hall.

”Brother Mu!”

Ye Chen called out.

Mu Baoming snapped out of his focus, turned his head, and upon seeing it was Ye Chen, excitedly ran up to him and said, ”Brother Ye, you’re finally back! There’s word outside that you died in the Celestial Extinction Ancient Tomb. My father told me you’re fine but you were nowhere to be seen...”

Ye Chen didn’t dwell on this topic and asked, ”Brother Mu, what are you doing?”

Mu Baoming turned around, gestured for the others to leave, and then said, ”My father is researching the Celestial Gate. Recently, he’s run out of artifact refining resources, so we’re using everything in the house to fully support his research!”

Ye Chen: ”...Where is Grandmaster Mu now?”

”My father has been exhausted lately. The noise outside has been so loud, disrupting his concentration, so he went to rest, saying he would come back once the noise died down!”

Ye Chen felt a strange sense of emotion.

So, Grandmaster Mu Yi has wholeheartedly devoted himself to the research on the Celestial Gate.

So much so that he couldn’t even pay attention to such a grand commotion in Celestial Cyan City today...

He’s truly going all out, selling everything for the sake of his research on the Celestial Gate!

This is a good thing!

The research on the Celestial Gate needs such dedicated people!

”Brother Ye, I’ll go and call my father now,” Mu Baoming said.

”No need, let Grandmaster Mu rest a bit longer. I’ll go see the results of his research.”

With that, Mu Baoming immediately led Ye Chen to the artifact refining area of Grandmaster Mu Yi.

What greeted them were gigantic portals placed all over.

In a corner, some twisted and warped portal frames were piled up.

Ye Chen walked up to one of the portals, touched it, activated his Celestial Eye through his Martial Dao, and carefully observed to find that the details of each portal’s structure were completely different.

”Stop!”

At that moment, an angry shout was heard.

Mu Yi, with hair as tangled as hay and deep-set eyes, rushed in, glaring at Ye Chen. ”Don’t touch these things, many of them are unstable. If something goes wrong, can you afford it?!”

Ye Chen: ”...Grandmaster Mu, it’s me!”

”I know it’s you! But rules are rules!” Mu Yi retorted, puffing and glaring.

Ye Chen couldn’t help but laugh and quickly withdrew his hand, saying, ”Grandmaster Mu, you need Void Stones to build the Celestial Gate, but none of these portals have them, it won’t work.”

”Do you think I don’t know that? But Void Stones are extremely rare; you probably can’t find even one in the entire Eastern Region, so I have to figure out how to substitute them with other materials!”

Ye Chen thought that Grandmaster Mu Yi indeed has the capability for great things. This idea is a good one, considering the fact that Void Stones have no natural occurrence on the Human Race’s Celestial Essence Continent. So, researching substitutes for Void Stones is something that will inevitably need to be pursued.

The key issue here is that Grandmaster Mu Yi is attempting to leap too far; the method for constructing the Celestial Gate with Void Stones hasn’t even been settled, yet he’s already looking for material substitutes.

Of course, this is also because Grandmaster Mu Yi has no choice, since he doesn’t have any Void Stones.

Without more words, Ye Chen promptly said, ”Grandmaster Mu, use Void Stones first.”

”Where would I find Void Stones?”

”I have some!” Ye Chen waved his hand, and six Storage Rings flew to Mu Yi’s front. ”I told you last time that I would bring back Void Stones for you. Use these Void Stones from the six Storage Rings as you wish. If they’re used up, I’ll find more!”

Mu Yi checked the Storage Rings and his eyes immediately lit up, exclaiming, ”Where did these come from?”

Without waiting for Ye Chen’s answer, Mu Yi rushed to a large furnace with an array on it and impatiently took out some Void Stones to begin the attempt to construct the Celestial Gate!

”Brother Ye, my father has been like this recently. I hope you understand...” Mu Baoming quickly explained.

Ye Chen said, ”It’s fine. I won’t disturb Grandmaster Mu any further.”

As Ye Chen and Mu Baoming left the artifact refining area of Mu Yi, Ye Chen said, ”Brother Mu, organize Grandmaster Mu’s insights on the Celestial Gate and hand them over to me. Also, if there are any bottlenecks encountered during the research on the Celestial Gate, just come to me directly.

If there’s a lack of people, I’ll find people.

If there’s a lack of resources, I’ll find resources!”

Mu Baoming said, ”Alright!”

......

Leaving the Mu Mansion, Ye Chen still felt a sense of emotion.

Indeed, selecting Grandmaster Mu Yi for the Celestial Gate research wasn’t a mistake.

It takes someone of such purity to achieve results in the research.

Thinking of this, Ye Chen couldn’t help but glance back at the somewhat shabby gate of the Mu Mansion.

No big deal!

Once the Celestial Gate is constructed, he would take down the sky and personally carry the gates of the three grand exotic palaces to present to Grandmaster Mu Yi!

Then.

Ye Chen headed straight to the headquarters of the Celestial Soldier Pavilion, first finding Nine Pavilion Master Liu Hong, who then guided him, skillfully avoiding all prying eyes, to meet with Grand Pavilion Master Lin Yan.

”Younger Brother Ye,” Lin Yan greeted with a smile.

Ye Chen said, ”Brother Lin, I’ve come to request swords.”

Getting straight to the point, wasting no time.

”Oh? What kind of swords does Younger Brother Ye need?”

Ye Chen said, ”The same as last time, but prepare more for me!”

To arrange the Infinite Star Sword Array, one more sword is needed.

But who knows when the Infinite Star Sword Array might be upgraded and require even more swords.

Moreover, some may get damaged during battles.

It’s best to prepare more to handle any unexpected situations!

”No problem. Liu Hong, handle this quickly!” Lin Yan instructed.

Liu Hong said, ”Grand Pavilion Master, I will arrange it right away.”

Once Liu Hong left, Lin Yan looked at Ye Chen and sighed, ”Shi Fengchun is truly audacious this time.”

Ye Chen said, ”Hall Master Shi has a lot on his mind.”

Lin Yan nodded, ”Why is the Situ Family targeting you?”

Ye Chen said, ”I’m not sure either...”

Most likely, it was someone from the ancient primordial clan coming to confront him, but it wasn’t something convenient to discuss.

”The Situ Family won’t back off easily, but Shi Fengchun’s decisive actions today might intimidate them for a while. Younger Brother Ye, the key is that your own strength has to be formidable,” Lin Yan said as he stood up. ”Come, let me take you to the Sword Pool to get you some items for self-defense!”

Ye Chen’s eyes lit up.

While accepting favors isn’t ideal.

But at a critical point, there’s no room for indecision.

”Thank you, Brother Lin.”

Lin Yan smiled slightly, ”You and Shi Fengchun are both men of great deeds. You plan to continue the war against the exotic races, and the Celestial Soldier Pavilion fully supports you. Since you call me Brother Lin, then I must live up to the title.”

Ye Chen no longer wasted words on formalities.

Brother Lin is a generous person; simply remembering his favor is enough.
