Supreme Sword Exalt

The old monk quietly recited to Gu Han, “Amitabha. Benefactor, do not let killing intent dominate your mind. It will harm your future cultivation.”

As the Buddhist chants spread, the red tint in Gu Han’s eyes gradually faded, and his small sword returned to its pristine, flawless white state.

Gu Han said somewhat bleakly, “Master, are you protecting him?”

No matter what happened, he would kill Zhong Yu. Not even the Buddha himself could stop him. However, the old monk had shown him great kindness. He knew how to repay kindness and settle grudges, so he refused to drag the old monk into this mess.

Zhong Yu was keen enough to see that the old monk held an important place in Gu Han’s heart. His expression grew even more sincere. “Master, the Buddha says, ‘The sea of suffering is boundless, but turning back is the shore!’ I’m willing to turn back. Master, you are a monk who has attained the Dao. I wonder if you are willing to accept this lost soul?”

The old monk glanced at Gu Han and fell silent for a moment. “The Buddha only ferries those with whom he has fate with.”

Zhong Yu was overjoyed. The Buddha and I definitely have fate! A particularly strong one, at that! After all, did you not chase after me, chanting sutras for half a month?

He secretly breathed a sigh of relief. “Master! Good eye! I really do have fate with the Buddha!”

“Where is it?”

Zhong Yu was stunned, a bit caught off guard. “Master, what do you mean?”

The old monk stared at him with a calm gaze. “You claim to have fate with the Buddha. Show it to me so I may observe.”

Zhong Yu was dumbfounded. How the hell am I supposed to show it?! Can you even show something like that?!

The old monk sounded somewhat regretful. “It seems that you have no fate with our Buddha. The Buddha does not ferry those without fate.”

Zhong Yu was completely dumbstruck.

In his heart, he cursed the old monk vehemently, Are you just making this shit up?! Yesterday you said I was fated, and now I’m not?! Even if he is from your family, as an Ascension realm cultivator, do you have no shame?! Old bald donkey! Old scoundrel! Old rascal!

How could Gu Han not understand the old monk’s intention? He took a deep breath, his face full of gratitude. “Senior, thank you!”

The small white sword trembled slightly, and a faint yet vast sword intent locked onto Zhong Yu. The blind old man’s strength was so profound that one couldn’t see the bottom at all. Just as he had said, no one here was qualified to make him draw his sword. He only had to look at someone, and that person would die.

Sure enough, Zhong Yu could no longer bear it and began to slowly collapse. Pale-faced, he gazed at the old monk pleadingly. “Master, I have seen the light! I have repented! The Buddha, I have fate with him!”

The old monk repeated, “Benefactor, words are not enough. Show it to me so I may observe.”

Zhong Yu was stunned, then completely broke down. “You damn old bald donkey, are you messing with me?! You followed behind my ass like a fly, chanting sutras for half a month, and now you fucking tell me there’s no fate?!”

Meanwhile, Gu Han slowly activated the sword intent. He could have killed Zhong Yu in an instant, but he did not do so. Like he said before, he’d repay the despair and pain that Mo Chenyin had suffered a hundredfold. Zhong Yu’s hell had just begun.

The old monk glanced at Gu Han and sighed inwardly. Zhong Yu’s cultivation was very high, but his spine was brittle. Watching himself slowly march toward death, powerless to do anything about it, was extremely painful for the old monk. Had Gu Han simply killed Zhong Yu on the spot, the old monk would’ve endured way less pain.

With a thud, the esteemed Ascension realm cultivator prostrated himself. “I was wrong! Please, spare me! I’m very sad about Junior Sister Mo’s matter too! M-Master made me do all those things! I had no choice!”

From beginning to end, Gu Han just activated the sword intent, not saying a single word. Gradually, Zhong Yu lost his feet, his legs, his upper torso, until only his head remained.

Gu Han asked, “Does it hurt?”

Zhong Yu subconsciously nodded.

Gu Han sighed. “Her pain was a hundred times yours!”

The sword intent obliterated Zhong Yu’s head, leaving only a three-cun-tall small figure trembling in the air. Once a cultivator reached the Saint realm, they could transform their soul into a divine soul. Only by extinguishing their divine souls could they be truly killed.

Gu Han stared at him as a thought-provoking glint flashed in his eyes. “A divine soul should be very tough, right? I am sure it can withstand torment?”

The small figure trembled. He suddenly felt that what he had just endured was nothing at all. The despair and pain were only just beginning.

Indeed, Gu Han’s next words left him completely devastated. “There are many methods for refining a soul. Senior Yan is a giant of the demonic path and should be proficient in this art. Later, I will have to seek his earnest advice!”

Zhong Yu wept bitterly, “No! Spare—no! Just kill me already! I beg you! As repayment, I’ll tell you a secret! A secret about Ling Ya!”

“Fuck off!”

Zhong Yu said with solemn assurance, “I’m serious! This is both that old thief’s greatest secret and his greatest scheme! It is ten times more important than his scheme involving junior sister! Believe me! If you want to help Junior Sister get revenge, you can start with this!”

Gu Han thought briefly. “Speak. If it’s useful, I’ll grant you a quick death.”

“Promise me first!”

Gu Han was emotionless. “Forget it! I’ll just go find Senior Yan instead.”

“I’ll talk! I’ll talk! I am actually not the master’s disciple! Before me, he took on several other disciples, but they all disappeared without a trace! Later, I accidentally discovered his secret!” A look of fear appeared on his face. “The Ling Ya you see is just... the surface—”

Just then, a flash of pain and struggle appeared in his eyes, and his divine soul rapidly collapsed.

The old monk sighed. “A restriction had long been planted in his divine soul.”

Gu Han grew somewhat anxious realizing that it likely involved Ling Ya’s most core secret. The old monk sighed and silently recited a Buddhist chant. A white light enveloped Zhong Yu’s divine soul, slowing its collapse by only a fraction. Under that vicious restriction, he still could not escape the fate of complete annihilation.

Seemingly aware of his fate, he turned around with great difficulty, staring fixedly at Gu Han. “The Ancient Cang Realm! Taihao... secret...”

At the very moment his divine soul crumbled apart, his gaze suddenly became calm. Gu Han recognized that look immediately. It was Ling Ya!

Following that, Zhong Yu’s divine soul dissipated and was gone forever.
