Supreme Emptiness

Chapter 1236: Chapter 1240: Guiding Divinity Transformation

Jiang Wuya suddenly stopped in his tracks.

He instinctively said, ”Of course, follow the law, punish him for his crime...”

”No, he has saved many people in disaster, he should be rewarded!”

”Still can’t, killing is killing, the iron law cannot be violated...”

”But he doesn’t deserve to die.”

He, who deeply believed in punishing evil and promoting good, had a violent change in his gaze.

The path he had always pursued was wavering at this moment.

”How can this be?”

”What should I do?”

Jiang Fan, with his hands behind his back, said indifferently, ”Didn’t you say, one thing is one thing?”

”Since he saved people, he should be rewarded.”

”Since he killed someone, he should be severely punished.”

”Why is it not one thing for one thing now?”

”Because you also found, the reward and punishment are severely disproportionate, right?”

”He saved countless lives and benefited the people, but the reward he received was merely some material or spiritual gift.”

”But for killing one person, and that person being a scum of the earth, he must pay with his life.”

”Is this punishing evil and promoting good?”

”This is punishing good and promoting evil!”

”You are telling the people of the world with your actions that doing good is meaningless, if you make a mistake, the outcome is the same as doing evil!”

”And for doing evil, there is no need for guilt, because everyone makes mistakes, and making a mistake is evil.”

”In the long run, who would still be willing to do good? Who would fear doing evil?”

Jiang Wuya’s eyes were fiercely struggling, he held his head.

His expression became painful: ”Stop talking!”

”I... I was not wrong!”

”I was punishing evil and promoting good, not punishing good and promoting evil!”

Jiang Fan shook his head.

From the first encounter, he wanted to properly guide Jiang Wuya.

His path had issues.

Continuing to comprehend it would be a dead end with no result.

His final outcome would be to remain trapped in madness, unable to awaken.

What a pity, last time Jiang Fan was being hunted and fled in disarray, where would he find the chance to debate Tao with him?

Seeing him still stubbornly unenlightened, Jiang Fan took a deep breath and struck at the core:

”Ask you one last question!”

”If killing is a crime, should you also pay with your life for wanting to kill me?”

This was the fundamental contradiction of Jiang Wuya’s black and white path of good and evil!

Since killing repays with life, should Jiang Wuya himself also repay with life?

If he doesn’t repay with life, his path would collapse on its own!

If he does repay with life, he would need to commit suicide to atone, dying and his path vanished.

Jiang Wuya was in even greater pain.

The path he held on to collapsed completely at this moment.

Bits of Sword Intent uncontrollably seeped out of his pores, the majestic aura of the Nine Aperture Nascent Soul spreading wildly around.

The Dao rhyme of punishing evil and promoting good also chaotically radiated outward.

”Then what is punishing evil and promoting good?”

”What exactly is it?”

Jiang Fan said calmly: ”Everyone’s standard of good and evil is different.”

”An evil person kills people like chopping grass, still with a satisfied heart.”

”A good person, even for a small mistake, will feel guilty and remorseful.”

”If you want to punish evil and promote good, you need a measure in your heart, to clearly measure whether a person is greatly evil or slightly evil, whether greatly good or slightly good, whether their life is more evil than good, or more good than evil.”

”Measure clearly, only then do you have the qualification to punish evil and promote good.”

”Otherwise, without distinguishing good from evil, where comes the punishment of evil, where comes the promotion of good?”

Jiang Wuya held his head, his face still pained.

”Measure good and evil, only then to punish evil and promote good...”

”Measure good and evil, measure good and evil, measure good and evil...”

He kept murmuring, the pain in his eyes gradually dissipating.

Not long after it turned into bewilderment.

He stood there, looking up at the sky, constantly murmuring the four words ”measure good and evil.”

One, two, three, four times...

The sound went from confused, to clear, to firm, and finally became ethereal, like a melody in the void.

The deranged aura of ”punishing evil and promoting good” continuously strengthened from Jiang Wuya.

Even keeping a distance, Jiang Fan was still affected.

He quickly retreated.

But Jiang Wuya’s madness swept over like a flood breaking the dam, with a loud laugh, it overwhelmed eight directions.

”Without distinguishing good and evil, how to punish evil and promote good?”

”Hahahaha!”

”I have realized!”

Jiang Fan was instantly swept through by the madness, immediately plunging into a huge frenzy of punishing evil and promoting good.

He was startled.

In this madness, he would destroy his own cultivation!

Sure enough!

He again uncontrollably felt disgust for the Yin Qi in his body, besides that, loathed all the schemes he had done before.

This time, he wanted not only to destroy his cultivation.

He also wanted to cut his own throat to atone, ending his sinful life!

Jiang Wuya’s madness was much stronger than before!

Even more terrifying, the pain from the Nascent Soul didn’t let Jiang Fan completely escape the madness.

He uncontrollably drew the Purple Sword, placing it on his own neck!

Seeing he was about to commit suicide.

A palm slapped on his shoulder, dispersing all the madness.

Jiang Fan looked up, it was Jiang Wuya!

His eyes were bright, like a pearl washed of its grime, shining with brilliance.

Also like a vibrant flower growing in a desolate ancient ruin.

A transcendent quality, transcending the world, penetrating the essence of things, reaching the other shore of life, flowed gently.

At this moment, Jiang Wuya.

Awoke!

Successfully reached the end of the path, awakening from madness.

He looked up at the firmament, unable to hold back a laugh:

”The dark night will end, the sword-bearing dream returns to its owner!”

”I, Jiang Wuya, have finally awoken!”

”Hahaha!”

In the laughter, a mystical wave reached the firmament, drawing a vast canopy of colorful clouds.

They enveloped Jiang Wuya, descending rays of light.

Behind Jiang Wuya, a Divine Ring gradually condensed.

Jiang Fan’s pupils shrank.

This, this is the entry into Venerable Realm?

Meanwhile.

Qintian Bureau.

The Great Wine Sacrifice sat in Heartless Residence, a scene floating in front of him.

In the scene, Bai Xin was carrying two swords on her back.

One is her Seven-star Treasure Sword.

The other is the Mingxin Sword.

”Jiang Fan’s gift, she accepted it.”

”It seems her sealing will eventually be unable to suppress it.”

Bai Xin, sealed from all emotions and desires, would show no joy or anger.

She would not accept Jiang Fan’s gift.

But now, whether it is liking the Mingxin Sword or having affection for Jiang Fan.

All indicate she is slowly developing human emotions.

If these emotions become obsessive, it could trigger her demonic nature, awakening as the True Demon of Destruction.

The Great Wine Sacrifice pinched his brow: ”Hopefully, that day will never come.”

Suddenly.

A profound ripple swept over the top of Qintian Bureau.

He suddenly opened his old eyes, revealing surprise: ”Who has entered Divinity Transformation?”

Washing Moon Lake, White Tower.

True Word Venerable was leaning on a lounge chair, his left hand holding a booklet, and his right hand holding a brush dipped in ink.

Occasionally thinking, occasionally frowning, writing something in the booklet.

Looking closely.

The first thing was ”On the Feasibility of Safely Cutting off Jiang Fan’s Root.”

”First, avoid the Great Wine Sacrifice, he is protecting Jiang Fan.”

”Second, Jiang Fan has a life-preserving Lotus, prevent him from escaping (truly hitting himself with his own stone, this life-preserving Lotus was given to this little rascal by me).”

”Third, prevent Jiang Fan from reporting the incident afterwards, I cannot appear as True Word Venerable, need to change identity, so he doesn’t know whom to report.”

”Fourth...”

While she was racking her brain thinking.

A ripple passed through, she suddenly sat up, her beautiful eyes widened:

”Someone has entered Divinity Transformation?”

”How is this possible?”
