Supreme Devouring God

After the matter was discussed.

Emperor Chu dragged his injured body back to his own palace within the Great Origin Saint Sect.

However.

Before he could rest.

A royal messenger arrived to report news to Emperor Chu.

Emperor Chu initially didn’t want to see him; his mind was in chaos.

But the messenger insisted that the news was extremely important, so Emperor Chu allowed him into his palace.

”What is it?”

By now, Emperor Chu had changed into a new imperial robe. After all, as an emperor, he had to maintain his image. However, even so, his conspicuous injuries were still clearly visible.

His whole face was swollen, and there were bruises on his neck.

The messenger knew that Emperor Chu must be in a foul mood, so when facing the emperor, he was so nervous that he was sweating profusely.

”Reporting to Your Majesty, the treasury... has been robbed!”

The matter was crucial, and although the messenger was somewhat fearful, he spoke under pressure.

As soon as Emperor Chu heard this, his eyes widened in near rage, shouting, ”Are you kidding me! There are so many dao arrays and restrictions outside the treasury; who could possibly steal from it?”

Even though the palace was razed to the ground by Qin Chen, Emperor Chu never worried about the treasury being plundered by him.

Those arrays and restrictions were not just decorations.

Moreover, even if Qin Chen could break through the arrays, it would trigger the treasury’s self-destruct mechanism, leaving him with nothing.

This was why Emperor Chu reacted so strongly upon hearing the news.

The messenger was so intimidated by Emperor Chu’s sudden burst of imperial might that his legs trembled, and he knelt to the ground: ”I dare not lie, but the fact is just as I said, and it was just discovered.”

”According to speculation, the thief is most likely Qin Chen.”

Qin Chen!

For some reason, just hearing this name made Emperor Chu boil with uncontrollable rage.

”Are you sure it wasn’t self-destruction, but theft?”

Emperor Chu forced himself to calm down because he knew that anger was useless.

The messenger replied, ”It was indeed theft, as the treasury itself is still intact.”

”What was stolen from the treasury?”

Although Emperor Chu still found it hard to believe how Qin Chen bypassed the treasury’s arrays, he knew it was a fact and could only choose to believe it.

He only hoped that most of the important treasures were still there.

Upon hearing this, the messenger trembled and, for a moment, said nothing.

Emperor Chu frowned slightly: ”I’m asking you a question!”

Beans of sweat dripped from the messenger’s forehead as he gritted his teeth and said, ”Reporting to Your Majesty, all the treasures in the treasury were stolen, not a single piece was left behind.”

”Boom!”

It was as if an explosion had gone off in Emperor Chu’s head, a roaring sound echoed — everything was stolen, nothing left behind?

Bastard!!!

Emperor Chu roared inwardly, his face contorted with rage.

”Qin Chen!”

Emperor Chu uttered the name through gritted teeth, almost grinding them to dust, his hatred beyond words.

The resources in the treasury were accumulated painstakingly, through countless hardships.

And now, they were all handed over to Qin Chen on a silver platter?

How could Emperor Chu not be furious!

Furious to the point of explosion!

”Your Majesty, I shall take my leave now.”

The messenger was drenched, seeing the emperor on the verge of a meltdown, he hurriedly tried to slip away.

”Halt!”

Emperor Chu’s voice stopped the messenger, who trembled violently, forcing a smile that looked worse than crying: ”Your Majesty.”

”Send a message to Qin Chen.”

”Tell him to wait! I will show him what it means to wish for death over life!”

Emperor Chu had never wanted to deal with someone so intensely; his hatred and anger towards Qin Chen ran deep.

But Emperor Chu knew he had to endure.

Once the Butterfly Flower Divine Sect was dealt with, it would be time to eradicate the Heavenly Blade Saint Sect!

By then, he would torture Qin Chen, ensuring he would never find solace!

The messenger quickly nodded and retreated like lightning.

...

Heavenly Blade Saint Sect.

When Qin Chen returned to the Heavenly Blade Saint Sect.

Li Guangxuan received the news and immediately went to Demon Peak to see Qin Chen.

With him were Elder Shen and Ouyang Zhou.

Qin Chen’s actions were crucial to the Heavenly Blade Saint Sect, and upon hearing of his smooth return, they all breathed a sigh of relief. However, they were also curious about what Qin Chen did at the Imperial Palace.

”Qin Chen, are you okay?”

Li Guangxuan observed Qin Chen and noticed he had injuries, feeling a bit worried.

Qin Chen shook his head with a smile, ”Just minor injuries, nothing serious.”

”How did things go at the Imperial Palace?” Li Guangxuan asked immediately.

”Fang Hanchuan is dead; I personally killed him,” Qin Chen replied.

Really dead?

Li Guangxuan and the others’ eyes narrowed, and then Elder Shen asked, ”Where did you kill him?”

Qin Chen said, ”Fang Hanchuan betrayed the Heavenly Blade Saint Sect and joined the royal family, so naturally, I killed him in the palace.”

”Then you mean you didn’t alert the royal family?” Elder Shen was a bit astonished.

Qin Chen replied, ”Of course, it caused quite a stir, and eventually even the Giant Rock Dead Soldier Army showed up.”

”What!”

Elder Shen and Ouyang Zhou’s hearts raced upon hearing this. They had witnessed the terror of the Giant Rock Dead Soldier Army in the previous battle at Chu Imperial City.

Qin Chen managed to alert the Giant Rock Dead Soldier Army, so how did he escape?

”What exactly happened?” Elder Shen pressed on.

Qin Chen seemed relaxed, as if he hadn’t done anything at all, and said, ”It was nothing much, really. I went to the palace, emptied the treasury, and used the Heaven and Earth Treasures inside to enhance my strength.”

”As fate would have it, upon exiting, I ran into Fang Hanchuan. I naturally didn’t spare him, killed the high-ranking royal officials with him, and then killed him as well.”

”However, the commotion was significant. It seemed like some ’Imperial Bell’ even rang.”

”The Imperial Bell? That’s the royal family’s highest-level warning bell! Once rung, everyone in the entire palace hears it, no matter where they are. You actually caused the Imperial Bell to ring?”

Elder Shen was a bit shocked, looking at Qin Chen with an expression that seemed to ask how he came back after the bell was rung.

Qin Chen continued, ”It wasn’t a big deal, actually. Most of the royal family’s top experts were at the Great Origin Saint Sect, so even if the Imperial Bell rang, it wasn’t much.”

”At that moment, I thought of our Heavenly Blade Saint Sect’s current situation, so I didn’t leave immediately. Instead, I caused a huge ruckus in the palace, killing anyone who dared to stop me.”

”This...”

Even Li Guangxuan and his companions, who had seen it all, were at a loss for words upon hearing Qin Chen’s approach.

Running into the enemy’s stronghold, hearing the highest-level warning bell ring, and instead of leaving, causing chaos within the stronghold?

This was madness!

”So that’s why you ended up alerting the Giant Rock Dead Soldier Army?” Elder Shen asked.
