Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 544: Chapter 322: One Big Happy Family

’Why should I worry about that?’

’And it wasn’t like he could do anything about it.’

At this moment, facing life and death, Lin Chu’s mind was crystal clear. A very old, very cliché, yet very fitting saying came to him: ’A man’s heart is iron to his dying day!’

...

Outside the window.

The motorcade was still waiting.

Lin Chu went to the backyard for a look and found several cars there as well. They were completely surrounded.

It was a form of house arrest, meant to keep him from leaving.

A moment later.

In the sky.

Suddenly, the roar of helicopter engines filled the air.

Liu Chenhui glanced at his phone, a flicker of excitement in his eyes. ”Boss, our guys are here.”

’They’re here!’

”Can they land?”

Lin Chu stared out the window. Four helicopters circled in the blue sky, but they had clearly spotted the situation on the ground. No one had jumped yet.

Parachuting in this situation would make them living targets.

Liu Chenhui replied, ”Hard to say. They have no combat capability in the air. They’ll probably fly further out, land, and then push toward us.”

”You wait here. I’m going out to see what’s going on.”

After a moment’s thought, Lin Chu stood up and walked toward the door.

Liu Chenhui immediately grabbed his arm.

His eyes were anxious. ”I’ll go!”

Lin Chu glanced at him and shook his head with a small smile. ”They won’t dare shoot me. But you? That’s not a guarantee. There’s no need.”

”You don’t even speak French, and your English isn’t good. I should be the one to go!”

”I’m the bodyguard!”

Liu Chenhui’s voice rose sharply in emphasis as his massive hands forced Lin Chu back down into the seat.

His strength was far greater than Lin Chu’s. They had never tested it before, but Lin Chu knew now that he was no match.

He was a professional, after all.

Hearing his reasoning, Lin Chu was at a loss for words, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

’That excuse... is unbeatable.’

He let out a faint sigh. ”We’ll go together. Let’s go.”

Liu Chenhui: ...

”I said I’ll go, so I’ll go. Don’t make me tie you up!”

”Brother Fei, watch him!”

He spoke with extreme decisiveness, opened the door, and strode outside. With his hands held high, he yelled at the men, ”Unarmed! I have something to say! Our boss wants to see Mr. Liszt!”

He repeated the words as he walked slowly and steadily toward the motorcade.

Lin Chu secretly clenched his fists. He and Wang Zhefei exchanged a look, their gazes sharp as knives.

”He’s a good man,” Wang Zhefei said softly.

Lin Chu nodded silently and continued to watch the scene outside.

A tall man in a suit was quickly sent out from the motorcade. He frisked Liu Chenhui and disarmed him.

Just then, Lin Chu received another call from Gao Haitao.

”Brother Chu, our guys are here, but there’s severe electromagnetic interference on the ground. They also received a transmission from the other party: landing is prohibited, or they’ll be shot down.”

”The other team has already landed east of the town, about five kilometers away. They’ll be here in half an hour at most.”

”What’s the call? If they move in, there will most likely be a firefight.”

Gao Haitao’s tone was grave.

Now that the information was synced, the difficult decision of whether or not to open fire fell to Lin Chu.

”Let’s wait for now. Are there others? How long until they arrive?”

Lin Chu thought for a moment before asking in a low voice. ’Right now, there’s no need to open fire, but the tactical situation is fluid.’

”Yes. We’ll have over three hundred men here before 8 PM tonight. All six of our branches in Europe have mobilized. Even agents on active missions have dropped what they’re doing.”

”Also, our guys from the Middle East and Africa are on their way. Within twelve hours, we’ll have at least a thousand men, though they might be light on weapons.”

’At this point, nothing else mattered. The boss was surrounded; what good was the company without him?’

’Just one word: fight!’

Tsk.

’Lin Chu was somewhat surprised by the numbers. You never know what you have until you need it, and damn, it felt good to have it.’

”Alright. Have them all come. Form a new perimeter outside their perimeter.”

Lin Chu said with a nonchalant smile.

’In terms of raw power, LC Security was still young and probably couldn’t match Liszt’s absolute strength. But a smaller ship is easier to steer. In the short term, the number of men he could mobilize might not be much less than Liszt’s—it might even be more, enough to create a local advantage.’

”Okay, I understand.”

”Also, I’ve already posted a job on the dark web. Three teams have accepted so far. They’re all elite squads. We couldn’t hire more because of the potential political fallout on a national level, but they are all top-tier.”

”The fastest one will arrive in about two hours,” Gao Haitao added.

’It was, after all, a classic case of firepower deficiency anxiety.’

’The card Lin Chu had given him held several hundred million USD. If all of that were put out as a bounty, it would be enough to cause a sizable stir throughout the entire region.’

”Good. You handle it.”

”The more, the better!”

”We’ll worry about cleaning up the mess after tonight.”

Lin Chu gave his definitive answer.

’The commotion is getting bigger and bigger!’

’So let’s make it bigger!’

’At a time like this, it was pointless to think about other things, like public opinion or the consequences he might face back home.’

’It was like the first rule in a combat medic’s manual: survive first, worry about infection later.’

Gao Haitao: ”Okay, I understand.”

While on the phone with Gao Haitao, Lin Chu watched the scene outside. Liu Chenhui’s negotiation had clearly failed. They’d taken his gun, and after a brief exchange, the other party remained unmoved. With nothing else to be done, Liu Chenhui turned and walked back.

’That was... to be expected.’

Just then.

Lin Chu suddenly caught the faint aroma of cooking food. He glanced back and saw Chen Jinyu in the kitchen. The smell of meat was already drifting through the air.

’He’d been so on edge he hadn’t even noticed what she was doing.’

”Make plenty. We’ll all eat together in a bit! It’s been a while since I’ve eaten with all of you. Tsk, this feels like being some old landlord with his three wives and four concubines all at one table. Don’t just stand there gawking. Go and help her out...”

”Even if we’re going to die, we should at least do it on a full stomach.”

”I have to say, this feels pretty good... like a big, happy family.”

Lin Chu called out with a teasing smile.

’This whole situation was actually pretty interesting. In normal, day-to-day life, this would be impossible, unless he became obscenely wealthy and used some extremely forceful methods...’

’But now, in this quasi-wartime era, it seemed completely normal.’

’Survival is the first priority.’

The women were left speechless by his words. Their reactions varied, but they all headed toward the kitchen.

Chen Jinyu’s hand, gripping the wok, trembled slightly. She glanced his way but said nothing.

’She just wanted to do something, anything she could.’

’She remembered the old Lin Chu, the one who’d wear a suit jacket directly over his bare chest, no shirt, no undershirt. A true ”thug.” And now... he was still the same, as if he’d never changed at all.’

’Sigh...’

’This kind of man...’

’If they survived this, she really wanted to have his child. Even if he couldn’t be a father in the traditional sense, even if she had to raise the child all by herself... with his genes, the child would surely turn out fine.’

’What is wrong with me, thinking about this at a time like this...’

Glancing toward Lin Chu again, Chen Jinyu let out a soft sigh.

The door was pushed open.

Liu Chenhui was back.

He looked dejected. ”Sorry, Brother Chu, no luck. They’re being extremely hard-nosed. No one in, no one out. It’s an order.”

Lin Chu clapped him on the shoulder, comforting him with a smile. ”It’s fine. Go get some rest. Go on! Get some proper sleep!”

He paused, then looked over at the women and said with a sudden grin, ”So, who wants to come upstairs and take a nap with me? We can eat when we wake up. In a situation like this, I bet it would feel... extra special.”

The women: ???

Every one of them stared at Lin Chu, dumbfounded and in disbelief.

’At a time like this?’

’He’s actually thinking about *that*?’

’The audacity of this guy!’
