Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 371: Chapter 250: The Wall and the Dump Truck

Hm?

Hearing this, Lin Chu’s expression flickered. ”Is he okay?”

”Not sure yet. He hasn’t been seen. I’m waiting for news from the guys. But he was going fast, probably over seventy miles per hour. The truck that hit him was a beast too—a fully loaded logistics vehicle, practically a dump truck. It was full of frozen fish that spilled all over the road.”

”Two possibilities. One is that the three Zhuang brothers are fighting amongst themselves, meaning the other two are behind it. The other is that he staged it himself. It all depends on how badly he’s hurt.”

”If his injuries aren’t serious, he most likely staged the whole thing.”

”If they are serious, then it was probably the eldest or the second brother.”

As Lin Chu listened, his gaze fell on Zhuang Yingcheng, who was currently drinking with a female celebrity. He seemed to be in high spirits, charming the woman opposite him until she was a blushing, giggling mess.

Throughout the entire party, Zhuang Yingcheng hadn’t once come over to speak with him.

Lin Chu had a good guess as to what he was thinking. ’It’s the pride of a ”loser.” He doesn’t want to approach me just to be snubbed.’

”Got it. Keep an eye on the situation,” Lin Chu instructed.

After a moment’s thought, he glanced at Jackie Chan and walked over to him.

He pulled him off the dance floor, leaned in close, and told him everything.

After listening, the color drained from Jackie Chan’s face. He rubbed his nose.

The news was a profound shock to him.

”Okay, I’ll have someone look into the situation. Don’t worry, it’s fine... Where did you get this information?”

Jackie Chan reassured Lin Chu, but then, as if suddenly realizing something, he asked another question.

’How is he so well-informed?’

’I haven’t even heard anything, but Lin Chu already knows.’

”I run a security company, remember? I slapped him today, so I was worried he might try to get back at me. I had my guys keep an eye on him, and they ended up witnessing a car crash firsthand.”

Lin Chu told him the truth.

Jackie Chan was speechless.

”Alright, I get it. Don’t worry, you won’t be implicated in this. Wait here.”

With that, he headed back inside, looking perfectly calm and composed as he greeted guests along the way.

Lin Chu turned back to observe Zhuang Yingcheng’s reaction.

First, he took a call. Then, his expression changed drastically. He summoned his bodyguards and rushed out the door without a word of goodbye, completely abandoning the woman he had just been flirting with.

That reaction...

’It probably wasn’t his doing.’

Lin Chu then looked for Zhuang the Second. He was on the dance floor—a tall, handsome man, dancing slowly. He seemed completely oblivious, as if he hadn’t had a chance to check his phone. Or perhaps he was one of those cool guys who don’t look at explosions. Or maybe, just maybe, he was the one who planned it all.

’It was hard to say.’

Mo Xiaorou seemed to sense something was wrong and walked over. She glanced at Lin Chu and asked, ”Did something happen?”

”Nothing, just a minor thing. It doesn’t concern you. Go watch your dad play cards. If you’re free tomorrow, let’s meet up. You can show me around and we can grab a bite to eat.”

Lin Chu said, his smile as casual as ever.

The invitation caught her completely off guard. A blush crept up her cheeks again, and her long eyelashes fluttered. She gave a shy nod, but then quickly lifted her head, looking poised as she said, ”Okay! What do you want to eat?”

”I’m good with anything. Let’s head out at three in the afternoon. Give me your number, and I’ll come pick you up.”

Lin Chu smiled warmly at her.

’This is probably the most normal I’ve ever been while hitting on a girl,’ he thought.

’Not too fast, not too awkward.’

’Of course, it might be because she’s a martial artist. It makes me a little... wary. But it also makes me more interested.’

”Okay...”

Mo Xiaorou rubbed her nose, gave him her number, and then walked away toward her father, her steps light.

You could tell from the spring in her step that she was in a very good mood.

...

”Brother Chu, they just loaded him into the ambulance. He’s covered in blood, it’s a gruesome scene.”

”The truck driver is a foreigner—a scrawny, dark-skinned guy who looks like a monkey. You can tell just by looking at him that he’s from Southeast Asia. This whole thing stinks.”

”There was a woman in the passenger seat. She’s seriously injured too.”

After Mo Xiaorou had left, Gao Haitao called with another update from the crash site, his voice growing heavy.

Lin Chu nodded.

”Time to watch the show.”

”Tsk... What an eye-opener. Damn, so this is how they really play the game!”

Gao Haitao pressed his lips together, sighing with a sense of resignation. ”Yeah. I don’t think we have enough men. I’m going to call in another team. This reminds me of that story in the news a while back, about that super-rich guy in London, on his own yacht...”

And that was just a story that made it to the news.

Plenty of others never get reported.

He was starting to develop a phobia of being under-equipped.

Lin Chu gave a wry smile. He had, of course, heard about that incident as well.

A classic example.

”Alright, you handle it.”

...

On the road from Shallow Bay to the Qingma Bridge, Zhuang Yingcheng sat in the back of his car. His bodyguards were in the driver and front passenger seats, and another sat in the back with him.

He was still on the phone.

His third younger brother had been in a car crash. He was already at the hospital, reportedly with severe injuries, and was currently unconscious.

The news was a shock, and it filled him with a complex mix of emotions: anxiety, gloom, and a sliver of fear.

’I didn’t do it.’

’I really didn’t.’

He didn’t know if his second brother had done it.

He didn’t know if his two uncles had done it, either.

But one thing was certain: when something like this happened to his third brother, the family were the prime suspects. After all, the three brothers’ fight over their inheritance was so sensational that the whole of Xiangjiang knew about it.

Right now, he was on the phone with a confidant, calling off all the moves they had been about to make, while also seizing the opportunity to finalize any possible business arrangements.

’Since I’m innocent, I don’t have to worry about anything besides the public’s perception.’

’I can even use this opportunity to get my hands on a few more assets.’

BEEP...

CRASH!

He was focused on his phone call when he suddenly felt a massive impact from behind. Excruciating pain shot through him, and he instantly blacked out.

’I’ve been hit, too!’

It was the last thought to cross his mind.
