Super Tycoon: I Beg You, Stop Pulling Stunts

Chapter 38: Chapter 38: The Universal Cure

They grabbed a quick bite at a nearby dim sum restaurant, then got in the car to go handle the vehicle paperwork.

Twelve million, five hundred thousand!

In just a few more hours, it would be in his account.

Lin Chu was in high spirits, looking full of vigor.

”I’ll call in to take some time off. *Phew.* That dumbass manager will probably chew me out again, but who cares anymore.”

Sitting in the passenger seat, Zhang Peng said with a smile, pulling out his phone to make the call.

Lin Chu glanced at him and couldn’t help but smile too.

’He’s testing my attitude.’

’He must know I want to bring him on board, but asking directly would be too forward, so he’s taking a roundabout approach.’

”Are you happy at your current company?” Lin Chu asked with concern.

Zhang Peng cursed with a laugh. ”Happy my ass. It’s driving me crazy. Let me put it this way: the company has less than a hundred people, and over sixty of them are women. Among them are the boss’s Mistress, his number four, his number five, his number six... and to top it all off, the boss’s wife runs the finance department. It’s... a real-life palace drama. A living hell...”

Lin Chu couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

”You’ve had it rough, brother. Only someone with your people skills could navigate that. Most people wouldn’t last.”

Zhang Peng just shook his head and smiled, not complaining further. ”Just getting by. Waiting for my big break.”

Lin Chu didn’t drag it out any longer. ”We’ve known each other for two or three years now. We got along well back at that finance company, but you left after you punched the manager. Looks like you’ve matured a lot since then.”

Zhang Peng laughed. ”Of course, I had to grow up. But I still can’t compare to you, hahaha. Brother Chu, even though we’re friends, brothers, I’ll be shameless and just say it: if it’s convenient, let me follow you. I’m not the most capable guy, but I listen.”

’When the big boss extends an olive branch, you have to take it.’

”That’s exactly what I was thinking.”

”We’re on the same page.”

”I want to start a live-streaming company. You happen to have experience in this area, and I trust you. How about you come run things?”

Lin Chu handed him a cigarette and asked with a smile.

Gifting money on livestreams was a convenient method. The 300,000 he’d gifted Liu Junfeng last time had already opened his mind to the possibilities.

It was much more convenient than the gym.

And it could form a perfect closed loop.

’I can gift money to my own company’s male streamers, promote them, inflate their numbers, and after deducting the platform’s fees, I’ll still see the money come back to me.’

”This industry is tough right now... The competition is insane...”

”Are you looking to make money from live-streaming? Or is it for the female streamers? Or do you have another angle? In any case, selling products is a dead end unless you get incredibly lucky.”

Zhang Peng seriously analyzed the feasibility. Although this was a huge opportunity for him, if he was going to do it, he had to do it right. The boss’s money didn’t grow on trees.

Hearing him say this, Lin Chu felt even more confident in his decision.

After all, this was a friend with an intimacy level over 90.

”Let’s just get it started first. We’ll have some resources coming in. If it doesn’t work out, we can just treat it as a bit of fun. We’ll start with an initial investment of five million. That’s the limit.”

Hearing this, Zhang Peng felt much more at ease and said with a smile, ”Alright, then.”

...

They finished the vehicle transfer procedures.

The twelve million, five hundred thousand rebate arrived in his account instantly.

Lin Chu... felt great.

”I have two things for you to do.” ℯℯ𝑙.

”First, go register the company and find a location. It’s best if it’s near the gym, not too far away.”

”Second, also nearby, find me a presidential suite in a five-star hotel. Check out the place, ask about the price. It needs to have a good number of rooms, at least four, so we can get a table for mahjong if we want to play at night. Renting it by the month or by the year are both fine.”

Once they were in the car, Lin Chu spoke again.

Zhang Peng listened to the first task and nodded. At the second, his sharp Adam’s apple bobbed. ”You mean... you’re going to live there yourself?”

’That’s so fucking baller!’

’Wait, renting that for a year would be enough to buy a house, wouldn’t it?’

Lin Chu: ”Don’t ask so many questions. Just go get it done.”

Zhang Peng nodded. ”Alright, I’ll go look into it. So I should quit my current company now?”

Lin Chu: ”Quit.”

Suddenly remembering something, Zhang Peng said with a grin, ”Oh, that girl from last time, Xiao Bai, remember her? She’s asked me several times why you’re ignoring her. I told her the boss is busy with business and doesn’t have time to fuck you. Just wait a bit longer.”

Lin Chu was a little speechless. He waved his hand. ”You handle it.”

”Got it. I should. This is my job. The boss just needs to lead the charge, and I’ll clean up the messes.”

He said, showing he knew his role.

...

”Babe, what are you up to? Should I check out? Or wait for you to get back?”

DING. His phone chimed with a message from Du Xiaoman.

Lin Chu’s heart skipped a beat as he recalled the scene from last night. ’JK uniform and white stockings are truly the GOAT. And her biggest asset is her long legs—plus she’s a dancer. She let me unlock the ’splits’ achievement for the first time in my life. The standing splits, at that.’

”And... you tore my clothes. (pouty face) (pouty face)”

”I’ve already called Xiaolu to go to Uniqlo and buy me a couple of things to wear for now.”

She sent two more messages.

The grin on Lin Chu’s face was suddenly harder to suppress than an AK’s recoil, and he laughed out loud.

’I really was pretty rough.’

Ever since breaking up with Li Yaoyao, there had always been a bitter resentment in his heart, which he inevitably vented on every woman he had met recently.

But time, money, and new lovers were the ultimate cure-alls.

Now, after fooling around for the better part of a month, with nights of wild revelry and a bank account balance that had broken eight figures, that resentment had vanished without a trace.

’Maybe I just shot it all out.’

Of course, even though the wound had healed, he still needed to learn his lesson.

But there was no need to be so harsh with the girls. After all, they put in a lot of effort.

At this moment, as Zhang Peng drove and Lin Chu sat in the passenger seat, the midday sun shone on his face like a spotlight, completely illuminating the shadows in his heart. He felt only a peaceful joy.

’Let’s turn the page on the past, starting from this moment.’

The brand-new life of the multimillionaire Lin Chu was about to begin.

”Alright, my bad for being too rough. Remember to take a pill.”

”I’m going to pick up a sports car this afternoon. You guys can come if you want. If not, just go have fun on your own.”

Lin Chu replied gently.

Zhang Peng had a lot of errands to run now, and it would be inconvenient without a car. Lin Chu had to live up to the big talk from yesterday.

Besides, a sports car!

If you don’t chase the thrill of breakneck speed in your twenties, by the time you’re in your thirties or forties, you probably won’t have the passion for it anymore. Many emotions and experiences have an expiration date; after all, life is only so long.

A sports car was a big toy that Lin Chu really wanted to play with right now, and he could afford it.

Du Xiaoman: ”I want to go too... (Heart eyes) (Heart eyes)”

”Come on, then. I’ll send you the location in a bit.”

Lin Chu sent his reply, then had Zhang Peng drive him to ”Prestige Motors.” He had visited clients there before; it was filled with luxury cars of all brands.

Zhang Peng entered the address into the GPS, glancing at Lin Chu out of the corner of his eye. He didn’t offer any more flattery.

He was used to it.
