Super Rich by Doing as You Please

Trending topics and news headlines are like that.

When you’re paying attention, you’re always in the know. But when you’re not, when you’re offline, you have no idea what’s going on.

The women around Xu Yun mostly had their own careers and were very busy. They weren’t the type of “delicate fairies” who just played on their phones all day and listened to toxic self-help quotes.

So even if the “Platform Annual PK” or “Carnival Night” was the number one trending topic, they’d see it and not bother clicking.

However, they were curious enough to click on the news about a mysterious Jiang University alumnus donating 1.5 billion, wanting to see who it was.

Su Mu was one of them.

When she saw the name “Xu Yun” listed as the distinguished alumnus who had donated to Jiang University, she froze for a moment.

‘The same name?’

But then she remembered—he actually did graduate from Jiang University.

So, Su Mu eagerly called Xu Yun to confirm.

His phone was off.

Su Mu figured he was probably still asleep, so she just sent him a text.

But the answer was, most likely, that he was the donor.

After all, a coincidence like that was just too unlikely.

All Su Mu could say was that this guy really spent money like it grew on trees!

1.5 billion… That was more than enough to buy out her family’s company, which was about to go public.

Before, she had felt a little guilty about Xu Yun spending so much money to help her, and she’d been thinking about how she could possibly repay him.

Now, it seemed she had been overthinking things!

The man had so much money he was just donating it away—1.5 billion at that, without even blinking!

‘Compared to his alma mater, haven’t I contributed a lot more?’

‘Both emotionally and physically.’

At this thought, Su Mu’s mood improved considerably. The guilt and burden she felt over Xu Yun buying the company for her vanished.

Another thing she noticed was that he hadn’t attended the anniversary donation ceremony himself. Instead, he had sent a beautiful woman in his place.

A woman’s sixth sense told Su Mu that this person was most likely another one of Xu Yun’s “confidantes.”

A quick search online revealed—wow, she was a professor at Jiang University!

‘Great, just great. Now he’s even hooking up with a professor from his own alma mater.’

Su Mu even wondered if Xu Yun’s lavish 1.5 billion donation was because of this woman!

The thought made her a little angry.

‘Here I am, working hard at the company to make money for him, while he’s out there splurging on other women.’

‘Well, since he has so much money to throw around, it’s better that he spends it on me than on some other woman.’

‘At least I genuinely care about him.’

Just as she was leaving her office, ready to head out, Liang Yan suddenly approached her.

The two of them never got along. Su Mu said, “President Liang, are you here to ask me for money again?”

“Not for money. I want to show you something.”

With that, Liang Yan urged Su Mu, “Come on, let’s go to your office and watch.”

“Watch what?”

“You’ll know once you’ve seen it.”

Liang Yan sighed. “Here we are, pinching pennies, while a certain someone is out there splurging a fortune on a beautiful woman.”

“You’re not talking about the Jiang University donation, are you?”

Su Mu said, “I already know about that, no need to show me. He donated 1.5 billion to his alma mater. It just shows he’s grateful.”

“He donated 1.5 billion to the university?”

Liang Yan was suddenly flustered. “When did this happen? How come I didn’t know?”

“So that’s not what you wanted to talk about?”

“No!”

Liang Yan said, “I’m talking about something else, something related to Chen Xin!”

With that, she showed Su Mu the clips from last night’s PK battle, along with various related news articles.

Other people might not recognize anything from the video.

But the two of them knew Chen Xin so well that they recognized her instantly. Who else could that streamer in the mask be?

After all, Liang Yan’s main business was now in short videos and media.

So, many employees at her company had been buzzing about what happened last night.

After hearing about it, she went online to check it out and discovered the man and woman at the center of it all were Xu Yun and Chen Xin.

Liang Yan said sourly, “Look at him last night. For Chen Xin, he single-handedly took on the platform’s top three streamers, spent a hundred million, and put that girl on the national throne, sending her to walk the red carpet at the end-of-year event.”

“You have a problem with that?”

Su Mu shot her a look and said sarcastically, “If you want to go start a fight with Xu Yun, don’t drag me into it. I’m not that bored, nor am I that confident.”

Everyone knew how uniquely well Xu Yun treated Chen Xin. Anyone with any sense wouldn’t try to compete with her for his affection.

Liang Yan was naturally the same.

However, she had also discovered the existence of another woman in this affair!

This was the real reason Liang Yan had come looking for Su Mu.

“I’m not crazy enough to compare myself to Chen Xin.”

Liang Yan explained, “Didn’t you notice that in this PK, Chen Xin’s top supporter wasn’t Xu Yun, but an account named ‘Sister Yang’?”

“…” Su Mu fell silent.

‘Someone with the surname Yang, a woman, and connected to Xu Yun…’

With Liang Yan’s reminder, Su Mu did indeed recall someone.

That woman she had drinks with at the bar last time!

‘Her name was Yang Siqi, right?’

Last time, Liang Yan had mainly been with Jiang Peiyao and Xino, so she hadn’t really noticed Yang Siqi.

Or if she had noticed her, she didn’t know her name.

Liang Yan said, “Su Mu, we don’t have to compete with Chen Xin—we can’t win anyway—but we still have to guard against other women. Otherwise, our positions won’t be secure for long.

“Men always chase after the new and get tired of the old.”

“So you came to me. What do you plan to do?”

Su Mu retorted, “Are we going to confront Xu Yun together?”
