Strongest War Emperor

Shen Lang’s statement left Zu Wei, Nanfeng Yao, and the others utterly speechless...

But he just waved his hand and continued, ”It’s just a hypothetical. However, I expect rumors about the Blood Ancestor and the Blood Race will reach the Purple Chu Country soon enough... What I mean is, you’re looking at this situation too simply, too optimistically. Earth Rifts are appearing everywhere, constantly spewing out Supreme Yin Qi. The Spiritual Qi of Heaven and Earth has been greatly affected, and all manner of demons and ghosts are just waiting for the perfect moment. They want to ride the wave of Supreme Yin Qi as it covers the world and come out to wreak havoc...”

”Imagine any powerful Dark Creature, brimming with ambition and ready to swagger out into the world, only to find the rift Sealed. And inside that rift, they find something like the Eternal Tree. What do you think they would do?”

”The most direct method, of course, would be to do what these Demons outside the Seal are doing now: constantly attack the Seal, trying to destroy the Seals on all the rifts so the Supreme Yin Qi can continue to surge out unabated.”

At this, Shen Lang waved his hand dismissively. ”Alright, there’s no use talking about this. Report the situation here to the Elder Ancestors of the three Spirit Copper Level Sects. They’ll know what to do.”

”As for everything that happened inside the Seal, I hope you seniors will keep it confidential for me... especially the Eternal Tree. This is no small matter. I’ll have to trouble you seniors to maintain the second layer of the Seal, keeping it isolated from the outside world. Absolutely nothing about this can be leaked!”

”If word of the Eternal Tree gets out, forget about four King Martial Realm Fifth Heaven Powerhouses—even the entire Imperial Dragon Sect might not be enough to handle the resulting crisis.”

Seeing Shen Lang’s grave tone, Zu Wei and the others immediately puffed out their chests and agreed. From their resolute expressions, they all but swore a blood oath.

”Now, let’s talk about the Hidden Moon Tomb. What’s the situation over there?” Shen Lang said, abruptly changing the subject.

The words had barely left his lips when the expressions of Zu Wei and the others, which had just started to relax, instantly soured. They looked distressed, stammering and unable to get a word out.

’Seeing their reaction, Shen Lang knew they hadn’t taken his earlier warning to heart.’

He had previously sent Yuan Bupu at top speed to deliver the warning, but Zu Wei and the others had clearly not believed it, nor had they paid it any mind.

So now that Shen Lang brought up the Hidden Moon Tomb, the four King Martial Realm powerhouses looked incredibly awkward and flustered.

They hadn’t believed Shen Lang’s message before, but after witnessing what he had done inside the Seal, how could they possibly dare to doubt him now?

They believed him now, but in the intervening days, the situation had already taken a turn for the worse...

Just then, Nanfeng Yao gave a light cough and said, ”Allow me. Young Master Lang, don’t worry. I’ve already taken some preventative measures.”

Nanfeng Yao began to recount the entire situation at the Hidden Moon Tomb, speaking at an extremely rapid pace.

The Hidden Moon Tomb was located to the northwest of the Desolate Land, over three hundred li from the rift.

The Hidden Moon Tomb was discovered over a thousand years ago, but no one knows which clan it belonged to or who was buried within.

The tomb was absurdly large, like a massive Earth Palace, and after it appeared, it became a habitat for the many Shadow Creatures of the Desolate Land.

When the tomb was first discovered, the Imperial Dragon Sect had sent powerhouses inside to investigate.

However, they didn’t find any particularly powerful demons, so they left it alone, and it has remained that way ever since.

Because of the Hidden Moon Tomb’s vast size and the extremely dense Yin Qi within, it attracted a large number of Shadow Creatures. With a seemingly endless supply of phantoms and fiends to kill, the tomb became a training ground for many of the factions near the Imperial Capital.

Almost every year, several factions would send their disciples inside to gain experience.

After the Earth Rift appeared in the Desolate Land, the Imperial Capital and the surrounding factions were shaken. Answering the Imperial Dragon Sect’s call, they all sent many people into the Desolate Land to clear out the countless Demon Beasts converging on the rift.

After it was discovered that even more phantoms and fiends were appearing in the Hidden Moon Tomb, the various factions temporarily coordinated over a month ago. Much like the trial at the Yumu Cave Blessed Land, they began sending their disciples into the Earth Palace for a massive joint training event.

At this point, Nanfeng Yao’s expression grew heavy. ”When Young Master Lang sent Brother Yuan to deliver the warning, I immediately discussed it with Senior Brother Zu Wei and the others. On one hand, we sent some Xuanwu Realm disciples to guard the perimeter of the Hidden Moon Tomb. On the other, I sent a message back to the Imperial Dragon Sect, requesting the Sect to dispatch powerhouses for support.”

Hearing Nanfeng Yao put it this way, Zu Wei and the other three were absolutely beaming with joy.

The reality was that when Yuan Bupu came with the warning, Zu Wei and the others, not knowing Shen Lang and believing the Hidden Moon Tomb had been investigated countless times by Imperial Dragon Sect experts, were convinced there couldn’t possibly be any powerful demons inside. So, they offered some polite words and promptly tossed the matter aside.

Only Nanfeng Yao had believed Shen Lang’s words and stubbornly sent a Sound Transmission Talisman back to the Sect.

Strictly speaking, if something had gone wrong, Zu Wei and the other three would not only have no merit to their names but would also be held at fault.

But the way Nanfeng Yao told it, it sounded like a completely different situation. Zu Wei and the others were incredibly grateful to him. The more they looked at Nanfeng Yao, the more they found the young man endearing...

Shen Lang understood what was going on but didn’t mind. He just gave a slight nod.

Nanfeng Yao continued, ”The current situation is that things at the Hidden Moon Tomb are still very calm for now. Some Xuanwu Realm-Level Zombies have appeared, but they’ve already been killed by the joint forces of the various factions.”

”And the experts sent by the Sect are already on their way. I estimate they’ll arrive soon.”

”We were worried about alerting the enemy, so we didn’t dare make any major moves. We could only send in a few disciples and then, in the name of the Imperial Dragon Sect, begin driving out the personnel from the other factions who are there for training. This has already generated a great deal of resentment from the other factions... They think we want to monopolize the resources inside the Hidden Moon Tomb, so they are extremely displeased.”

After explaining all this, Nanfeng Yao and the others looked at Shen Lang with expectant eyes.

The Hidden Moon Tomb had been known for so many years without a single major incident.

The people from the Imperial Dragon Sect had never discovered any powerful fiends within, yet now Shen Lang was saying a Dark Power existed inside, one that might even attack the rift’s Seal...

’Just how strong was this Dark Power, if it could remain hidden even from the Emperor Martial Realm powerhouses of the Imperial Dragon Sect?’

And now, with the appearance of the rift, the number of ghosts and fiends inside and outside the Hidden Moon Tomb was growing, as was the number of disciples from various factions entering it...

It was a perfect case of lambs walking into a tiger’s den!

The moment that Dark Power within made a move, the disciples from all those factions would bear the brunt of it. They probably wouldn’t even have a chance to escape!

Right now, there were only five King Martial Realm powerhouses at the Seal. On one hand, they had to guard the Seal and couldn’t easily leave.

On the other hand, they didn’t dare appear near the Hidden Moon Tomb for fear of alerting the enemy...

’Were they supposed to just let things develop like this and end in a bloody tragedy?’

”Young Master Lang, about this... what should we do now?” Nanfeng Yao asked, unable to stop himself when he saw Shen Lang remain silent.

Shen Lang shook his head. ”Without knowing the specific situation inside, I don’t have a better plan for now... You all stay here and guard the rift’s Seal. I’ll go take a look. We’ll have to play it by ear.”

”Immediately send word about the Eternal Tree to the Elder Ancestors of the Imperial Dragon Sect and the other two of the Three Sects. Open the Seal. I’m going to the Hidden Moon Tomb now.”

As he spoke, Shen Lang had Yuan Bupu return to the Heaven-Sealing Cauldron, and then he exited the Seal.

The moment they were outside the Seal, the King Martial Realm powerhouses all froze, turning in unison toward the northeast of the Desolate Land.

From far to the northeast of the Desolate Land, a powerful wave of Energy rippled toward them, as if a massive earthquake had struck.

”How outrageous! A King Martial Realm powerhouse is actually fighting here!” Zu Wei roared in anger.

The others all stared northeast with grim expressions.

The situation with the Hidden Moon Tomb was extremely delicate. Skirmishes between Martial Artists below the King Martial Realm were nothing to worry about, but a battle between King Martial Realm powerhouses? The consequences were terrifying.

If they startled the unknown power deep within the Hidden Moon Tomb into launching its attack prematurely, what would they do?

Nanfeng Yao said in a low voice, ”I’ll go take a look and see which faction’s expert is stirring up trouble here.”

Zu Wei was about to nod, but Shen Lang held up a hand, interrupting him.

”The reinforcements haven’t arrived yet. If you leave too, the forces at the Seal will be even weaker. I’d better go,” Shen Lang said with a strange look.

Zu Wei and the others were taken aback. ”But... the Hidden Moon Tomb is to the northwest, in the complete opposite direction. Besides, I can sense that two King Martial Realm powerhouses are fighting. If you go...”

”Don’t worry, I have my ways.”

Without further ado, Shen Lang unfurled his Ghost King’s Wings and sped off toward the northeast of the Desolate Land.

Zu Wei and the other three subconsciously turned their gazes to Nanfeng Yao.

Nanfeng Yao gave a wry laugh. ”Young Master Lang rarely does things he isn’t confident about. You senior brothers needn’t worry too much. Besides, not long ago, he took a palm strike from Dingdang and was completely unharmed. He even escaped with ease.”

”What?!” Zu Wei and the others stared, their eyes wide with disbelief.

No matter how incredible Shen Lang’s abilities or how many trump cards he had, his Cultivation had previously been squarely in the Spirit Martial Realm!

’Does this mean that while he was still in the Spirit Martial Realm, he took a palm strike from the King Martial Realm’s Xue Dangdang and was fine?’

A single palm strike from a King Martial Realm powerhouse could cause mountains to crumble and the earth to split. How could a mere Spirit Martial Realm Martial Artist possibly withstand that?

’What kind of monster like that could possibly exist in this world?’

”Damn it, my head is still spinning. Nothing like this has happened to me in years. It’s just... it’s just...” Zu Wei stammered while wiping sweat from his brow.

The others nodded repeatedly, feeling the exact same way.

Meanwhile, Shen Lang had already picked up speed, rapidly heading toward the source of the immense Energy fluctuation.

And a strange smile played on his lips...

When two King Martial Realm powerhouses were fighting, ordinary people would do anything to avoid the area. So why was Shen Lang rushing toward it with a sense of excitement?
