Strongest Lord by Opening Blind Boxes

Chapter 501: Chapter 340: Mirror Lake Royal Court, Auction

’My territory ranking finally broke into the top one hundred!’

Wang Yi was delighted. He opened his territory management panel to check the tasks for ascending to a Divine Country.

For a Royal Court to ascend to a Divine Country, there were first some hard requirements. The first was to enter the top one hundred on the Fourth Dimension’s territory leaderboard.

The second was for the territory’s population to exceed ten billion!

After meeting these two conditions, one also needed to complete an ascension quest.

There were two parts to this ascension quest. The first had to be completed on Hundred Battle Mountain.

According to the quest description, Hundred Battle Mountain was an ancient Secret Realm in the Fourth Dimension and also a colossal battlefield. A Lord Player needed to win one hundred battles there before they could leave.

These one hundred battles included system-set trials as well as random encounters. Each Lord Player would face different challenges, and the first battle would take place at Hundred Battle Mountain’s Windless Cliff.

Windless Cliff served as the entrance to Hundred Battle Mountain. Only by passing through this cliff could one enter the mountain proper, and once inside, leaving was impossible without winning a hundred battles.

After completing the combat quests on Hundred Battle Mountain, the Lord Player also needed to travel to the Sealing Sacred Domain to conduct a grand sealing ceremony.

This grand sealing ceremony had to be carried out according to system guidance. The system provided no detailed description, but Wang Yi figured it must also be fraught with danger.

’On the surface, this ascension quest doesn’t seem too difficult, but I should probably keep building up my strength for now.’

Wang Yi was in no hurry to ascend to a Divine Country. He felt his territory’s foundation was still too shallow. Although he now possessed considerable combat power himself, his territory had too few experts. There was practically no one who could hold their own. The territory’s military strength and its overall ecosystem still had a lot of room to grow.

Moreover, the Fifth Dimension was embroiled in wars between Divine Countries. If what Emperor Tathagata said was true, factional conflicts were already underway. Getting drawn into that prematurely would be anything but wise.

’The National War isn’t over yet, and I still haven’t dealt with the Hundred Battle Royal Court. I should just play it safe, open more blind boxes, and focus on securing my foothold in the Fourth Dimension for now...’

After a moment of silent contemplation, Wang Yi once again threw himself into the grand enterprise of opening blind boxes. He would occasionally read the Mysterious Newspaper, and his days passed leisurely.

Through the Mysterious Newspaper, Wang Yi learned that after the Great Destruction Thunder God’s self-detonation, the Waga Royal Court had been invaded by numerous Stellar Influences.

Those factions that had once been bullied by the Waga Royal Court were now kicking them while they were down, sending troops en masse to frantically plunder their resources and personnel.

Among them was the Alien Star Royal Court. The Lord of the Alien Star Royal Court, Feng Qi, directly opened the Star Sect in the Waga World, leading her soldiers in a massive invasion.

In truth, the Waga Royal Court did have many things worth plundering, such as technological weapons and scientific talent.

Without Da Hai City and its core leadership, and having lost the protection of the Nine Rivers Divine Country, the Waga Royal Court was completely unable to resist the frenzied invasion of the Stellar Influences. This once-powerful Royal Court, formerly ranked 88th on the territory leaderboard, quickly collapsed.

The Waga Royal Court still had some powerful experts, such as the reclusive ”Three Emperors,” but they did not participate in the war. Instead, they had already emigrated and left.

Wang Yi learned about the ”Three Emperors” through the ”Mysterious Newspaper.” They were [Ice Divine Dragon Kaimao], [Starry Sky Arrogant Li Litian], and [Mysterious Doctor Lu Sitin]. All were level 450 or higher, with strength and fame comparable to Kailo.

At first, Wang Yi had worried these three would intervene and cause trouble, since they had settled in the Waga World as experts recruited by the Lord of the Waga Royal Court, Zhang Aga.

However, the Mysterious Newspaper provided information revealing that shortly after the Great Destruction Thunder God’s self-detonation, these three experts had been invited by Shen Qing, Chen Jiqiu, and Luo Li to settle in the Purple Bamboo, Demon Realm, and West Sea Royal Courts, respectively. They had no intention of standing up for the Waga Royal Court.

This put Wang Yi’s mind at ease, but he also felt a little annoyed.

’I’m the one who destroyed the Waga Royal Court, but I haven’t gotten much out of it. Instead, all these vultures swooping in seem to be making a killing. System, oh System, when the hell are you going to give me my National War rewards?’

Wang Yi knew the rules of National War; as long as the war wasn’t officially over, the system wouldn’t settle his rewards. But when it did, the rewards were bound to be extremely generous, especially since the Waga Royal Court had been a top-100 territory on the leaderboard.

Time slowly passed. Wang Yi spent five leisurely days opening tens of thousands of blind boxes and obtained a large number of nice things. These included items like the [Ancestral Long Johns], with a collector’s value of over one billion Gold Coins; the [Happy Pomegranate], which could improve the consumer’s Physique; the [Ten Thousand Miles of Mountains and Rivers Map], which could project an illusion of mountains and rivers; the [Corrective Glasses] for curing nearsightedness and other eye ailments; and the [Super Weight Loss Tea], which caused rapid weight loss, and so on.

Unfortunately, there was nothing particularly powerful or worthy of special mention.

’Have I opened too many blind boxes? Is that why the good stuff isn’t dropping?’

Wang Yi muttered to himself, stood up, and ended his five-day-long seclusion.

He had received an invitation from Jelena to attend a mobilization meeting for the third expedition to the World of Suffering.

Even though Wang Yi’s territory had been promoted to a Royal Court, his exclusive ten-year exploration rights to the World of Suffering still remained. He could still send his territory’s citizens to the World of Suffering through the Tower of Suffering, allowing them to enjoy a ten-year journey of exploration.

In preparation for this third expedition to the World of Suffering, the Eco-Castle had already done a great deal of work, selecting several thousand personnel with high potential. The goal wasn’t for them to make any great discoveries in the World of Suffering, but simply for them to spend ten years there in Cultivation to improve their strength.

Wang Yi made a brief appearance at the mobilization meeting. He discovered that Jelena was becoming more and more like a qualified leader. She was ambitious yet wise, possessing both method and vision. When it came to managing the territory’s internal affairs, her talent was likely even greater than his own.
