Strongest Lord by Opening Blind Boxes

Chapter 63: Chapter 63: Don’t Kill Me

Lowering the Floating Mountain was risky. Once it was close to the ground, enemies could retaliate with bows and arrows, or even charge onto the mountain itself.

But right now, to prevent more elite Mountain Bandits or their leaders from escaping, Wang Yi decided to take the risk and use the Floating Mountain to crush the Gathering Hall directly.

Of course, he was still playing it safe, ducking into the cockpit of Prototype No. 1.

Down below, the Mountain Bandits had already been scared out of their wits. They were all running and fleeing for their lives. Even the few bold ones who lingered to watch didn’t have bows.

Nothing could stop the Floating Mountain. The weight-like peak descended rapidly, bearing down on the Gathering Hall. How could a building made of thatch and wooden beams withstand such immense pressure?

With a loud RUMBLE, the ground shook. The Floating Mountain landed, completely obliterating the Gathering Hall. An unknown number of Mountain Bandits were crushed to death instantly.

DING! DING! DING! The sounds rang incessantly in Wang Yi’s mind as system notifications flooded in. One piece of loot after another appeared before Prototype No. 1.

”Rise!”

Wang Yi had no time to inspect the loot. He immediately commanded the Floating Mountain to rise again.

Cries, curses, and the CRACKLE of burning wood all mixed into a cacophony. The entire stronghold was like a massive refugee camp, yet not a single person dared to approach the Floating Mountain.

When the Floating Mountain had ascended back to a height of one hundred meters, Wang Yi finally relaxed. Only then did he check the system notifications. To his pleasant surprise, he discovered that in that single descent, the Floating Mountain had killed a total of 16 elite Mountain Bandits and even crushed a bandit leader—the Master, Xu Lei!

And Xu Lei’s spoils were 238 Gold Coins, plus a [Black Mountain Stronghold Treasure Map]!

What made Wang Yi even happier was that by destroying the Black Mountain Stronghold’s Gathering Hall, he had completed a special achievement. The system rewarded him with a Lord Experience Package and a random Treasure Chest.

Opening the Lord Experience Package instantly granted Wang Yi 1,000 Lord Experience.

The random Treasure Chest was purple. Wang Yi opened it to find a Purple Chaos Blind Box, a Purple Chaos Egg, and a large money bag.

”I’ve struck it rich!”

Wang Yi was overjoyed. He immediately opened the large money bag and gleefully pocketed 250 Gold Coins.

’A Purple Blind Box. Sixty percent chance of a blue item, forty percent chance of a purple item. This is good stuff! I’ll save it for now. I’ll open it after I get back and pray for some good luck!’

Wang Yi read the Purple Blind Box’s Attribute Information and resisted the urge to open it immediately, turning his attention to the Purple Chaos Egg.

[Chaos Egg: Purple Quality. Consumes 100 Chaos Energy to hatch a mischievous child for you. This character has the mind of an 8-year-old human cub, will never grow up, and possesses three skills.]

’An eight-year-old human cub? Isn’t that the kind of brat even dogs hate? And it’ll never grow up! No way, absolutely not. I wouldn’t take it even if it had ten skills. This thing is a surefire cure for low blood pressure...’

Wang Yi was greatly disappointed, thinking he had just collected another useless Chaos Egg.

He didn’t have time to dwell on it. Many Mountain Bandits had escaped the Gathering Hall, and Ma Changgui was not yet dead. He had to continue the hunt.

The Floating Mountain took flight again. Wang Yi locked onto a target marked with a blue glow by the system—the third-in-command of the Black Mountain Stronghold, the Fire Hall Master, Lei Liao.

He had luckily escaped the Gathering Hall and avoided being crushed by the Floating Mountain, but his right leg was injured in the chaos, impeding his movement. Seeing the Floating Mountain coming after him, the bandit leader roared, ”To hell with you! Come on! Come down and fight your grandpa fist-to-fist!”

The only response he received was a volley of merciless Bamboo Section Arrows!

CLANG! CLANG! CLANG! CLANG!

Eight arrows descended. Lei Liao smashed two away with his right palm and caught two with his left hand. The remaining four shot past his arms. One struck his forehead, one pierced his left eye, and two plunged into his throat.

With a BOOM, the Fire Dragon Oil exploded. Lei Liao’s neck was blown clean off. His head tumbled to the ground, already a ball of fire.

A great master had fallen!

[Ding! You have killed the Black Mountain Stronghold leader, Fire Hall Master Lei Liao. You have obtained 10 Gold Coins and one [flaming saber] Skill Book!]

Wang Yi received the system notification but had no time to check the loot. His gaze swept the area and quickly locked onto Ma Changgui, who looked like a porcupine.

Ma Changgui was incredibly tough. The eight Feathered Arrows in his back hadn’t even been pulled out, yet he was still stumbling his way down the mountain.

Perhaps sensing the Floating Mountain’s pursuit, he quickly turned his head and shouted, ”Don’t kill me! ’Burning beanstalks to cook the beans, the beans in the pot cry out.’ We’re both Players...”

BOOM! Before Ma Changgui could finish, an exploding Bamboo Section Arrow cut him off.

He cried out as the blast threw him backward, but he miraculously wasn’t dead. He continued to shout, ”Don’t kill me! I know how to make Toilets...”

BOOM! BOOM! Two more Bamboo Section Arrows pierced Ma Changgui’s chest, their explosive properties triggering as blood flew everywhere.

This time, two bloody holes were blown open in his chest. Not even his Iron Cloth Shirt could save him now. His body went limp.

Two more Bamboo Section Arrows shot over. BOOM! BOOM! Just like that, Ma Changgui, the Player who worshipped martial prowess, was killed. He could not revive and had vanished from this world forever.

[Ding! You have killed the Black Mountain Stronghold leader, Feces Hall Master Ma Changgui. You have obtained one Copper Coin and one [Iron Cloth Shirt] Skill Book!]

[Ding! You have killed a Player. You have gained an additional 600 Lord Experience!]

Wang Yi received the system notifications.

Ma Changgui’s death was witnessed by the nearby members of the Feces Hall.

”Ma Changgui is dead!”

”I don’t want to die! I don’t want to die!”

”Let me go! I don’t want to play anymore!”

”The Fourth Celestial Calamity? It’s all fake, it’s all a lie...”

Amid the chaos of the stronghold, this group of people wailed and cried. They were the members of the Feces Hall—all of them Players, six in total.

These people had seen the Floating Mountain descend, seen the Gathering Hall flattened, seen the great fire erupt, seen Fire Hall Master Lei Liao killed, and seen Ma Changgui killed...

They were panicked and terrified, all traces of a Player’s sense of superiority gone. One of them had even wet his pants in fear.

’No, I have to run! I’m one of the Fourth Celestial Calamity! I can’t die here!’

Duan Hu was among them. He immediately started sprinting down the mountain, thinking this was the perfect chance to escape the Black Mountain Stronghold and that he could surely rise again in the future.

”Get out of the way!”

Suddenly, a loud shout erupted. A tall Mountain Bandit, who was also fleeing, shoved Duan Hu from behind. Duan Hu lost his footing, cried out in alarm, and tumbled off Black Cliff.

The cliff was a hundred meters high and as sheer as if carved by a blade. Duan Hu fell to his death. His body continued to tumble down the mountainside until it plunged into the churning river below.

That river was called the Li River. Unlike the Jade River, this was a great river that cut across the Golden Sparrow Country and served as one of its most important shipping routes.

The Black Mountain Stronghold called itself a stronghold and engaged in highway robbery, but in reality, seventy percent of its income came from the Li River. The stronghold had its own docks and ships, and the passing merchant vessels, cargo ships, and passenger boats were often stopped and forced to pay a toll.

Few people paid any mind to Duan Hu’s death. As his body tumbled into the Li River, a group of people who had escaped from the Gathering Hall at the summit were climbing down the iron chains on Black Cliff, rushing toward the docks below.

The Water Hall Master, Liao Siniang, was among them. She tore off her outer clothes, revealing skin-tight undergarments that looked like sharkskin. Her body, like an agile Water Snake, slid rapidly down the iron chain.

Even though she lived a life of violence and was accustomed to bloody scenes, Liao Siniang couldn’t help but feel terrified at this moment.

Because that Floating Mountain had shattered her worldview. She even suspected that the one attacking the Black Mountain Stronghold was not a Mortal, but a Divine Demon!

’Staying on the mountain is a gamble with death,’ Liao Siniang thought. ’It’s better to take the waterway and get far away first...’

Just as she was thinking this, a massive shadow loomed over her.

It was the shadow of the Floating Mountain.
