Strongest Incubus System

Damon finished the sentence silently, letting the thought dissolve before it could fully take shape.

It wasn’t the end of his humanity.

It was an expansion.

He took a deep breath, feeling Elizabeth still leaning against him. There was something different about the way the air seemed to circulate around them—as if the space recognized their shared presence.

”Let’s get up,” he murmured.

Elizabeth lifted her face almost immediately, as if she’d been awake for a long time and just waiting for him to say it. Her red eyes shone with an unusual intensity—not predatory.

Radiant.

She got out of bed with a movement too light for someone who, technically, didn’t need to be light. Then she extended her hand to him, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.

Damon took it.

The instant their fingers touched, something vibrated beneath the skin. It wasn’t shock. It was recognition. Like two parts of the same circuit finally closing.

Elizabeth squeezed his hand.

And she didn’t let go.

They walked side by side down the mansion’s hallway. Or rather, she walked—almost skipped. There was a contained energy in her movements, as if she were constantly preventing herself from spinning on her own axis of pure satisfaction.

She swayed his hand slightly as she walked.

Damon watched this with a mixture of surprise and disbelief.

”Are you... okay?” he finally asked.

Elizabeth turned her face to him with an offended and utterly radiant expression.

”I’m wonderful.”

He raised an eyebrow.

”You’re different.”

”I know.”

”Too different.”

She squeezed his hand even tighter, pulling him slightly to keep pace.

”Damon,” she said, and there was an almost sweet patience in her voice, ”when vampires truly marry... when the bond is emotional, not just biological... they connect.”

He frowned.

”I’ve already noticed that.” ”—No,” she interrupted softly, smiling slightly. ”You grasped the concept. Not the effect.”

They reached the main staircase. Elizabeth descended the steps practically floating, still holding his hand, pulling him along as if afraid he would disappear if she let go.

”—I feel you,” she continued. ”Not vaguely. Not as a distant presence. I feel everything.”

Damon was silent.

”—Your curiosity. Your caution. The way you’re trying to rationalize all of this so you don’t seem vulnerable.”

He blinked.

”—Are you reading my mind?”

”—No.” She laughed softly. ”I’m connected to you.”

They reached the main hall. The light streaming through the tall windows illuminated the room with soft golden hues. Elizabeth stopped in the center of the spacious room, still holding his hand, and turned to face him completely.

”—Focus,” she said.

”—On what?”

”—On me.”

Damon took a deep breath.

He didn’t know exactly how to ”focus” on someone in that way, but he relaxed his shoulders and allowed his newly expanded perception to adjust. Instead of just looking at her body, he tried to feel.

At first, it was just presence.

Then... warmth.

Not physical.

Something more intense.

A luminous expansion that seemed to emanate from her like constant waves. It wasn’t just joy. It was a steady explosion of happiness so pure it was hard to process.

He felt the impact in his own chest.

It was like staring at the sun.

”What is this...?” he murmured.

Elizabeth didn’t answer immediately.

She just watched his expression change.

Damon deepened his perception.

The feeling became clearer.

She was happy.

Not ”satisfied.”

Not ”relieved.”

Happy in an absolute way.

Like someone who had waited centuries for something and finally found it.

The intensity was so great that he almost instinctively recoiled.

”I...” he hesitated. ”I can’t even measure this.”

She smiled, and the emotion radiating from her intensified even more, as if his reaction fueled the glow.

”I know.”

”That’s... exaggerated.”

”It’s not.”

She took a step closer.

”I’ve spent so much time existing. Surviving. Calculating. Keeping everything under control. Always distant. Always contained.”

Her energy vibrated like liquid light beneath her skin.

”Now I’m not alone.”

The sentence wasn’t dramatic.

It was simple.

True.

Damon swallowed hard.

He realized something then—that happiness wasn’t one-sided. There was a thread pulling back inside him. The connection returned part of it, amplifying it, mixing it.

He felt her joy.

And, at the same time, he felt his own reaction to her joy.

It was a closed cycle.

”This is dangerous,” he murmured.

Elizabeth tilted her head.

”Why?”

”Because if you feel like this all the time...” he made a vague gesture, still trying to organize his sensations, ”...I’ll get used to it.”

She took another step, closing the distance.

”That’s the idea.”

He let out a short, almost defenseless laugh.

”You realize you’re radiating happiness like a nuclear star, right?”

”Am I?”

”You are.”

She closed her eyes for a moment, as if testing her own energy.

”It’s because you’re here.”

The simplicity of the answer disarmed any sarcastic comment he might have made.

Damon ran a hand through his hair, trying to compose himself.

”This sudden change... is it just the bond?”

Elizabeth opened her eyes.

”No.”

He waited.

”It’s the end of the containment.”

Her smile softened.

”Vampires who create true emotional bonds no longer need to hide their intensity. The bond sustains. Balances. I can feel when you’re stable. I can feel that you won’t break.”

She squeezed his hand again.

”Then I don’t need to hold back anymore.”

Damon was silent for a few seconds.

He focused again.

The sensation was almost impossible to quantify.

She truly felt like a sun.

And the scariest thing was that it didn’t burn him. It was warming.

”I had no idea that you...” he began, but the sentence died.

”That what?”

”That you could be like this.”

Elizabeth leaned slightly forward, still holding his hand with both now.

”Me neither.”

The hall was too silent to contain that energy. The whole mansion seemed more alive.

Damon realized that, beneath her overwhelming happiness, there was something more delicate.

Relief.

Belonging.

Trust.

He let out a slow sigh.

”You really are absurdly happy.”

She smiled with all her teeth.

”I am.”

”And it won’t diminish?”

”Not while you’re still here.”

He stared at her for a moment that was far too long.

Then he shook his head.

”I married an unstable star.”

”Not unstable,” she corrected, drawing close enough that their foreheads almost touched again. ”Bound.”

Her emotional warmth enveloped everything.

Damon realized that no matter how much he tried to rationalize it, it was real.

This was real.

And the world, apparently, noticed it too.

It wasn’t long before Elizabeth’s radiant presence began to cause... side effects.

Aria was the first to notice.

She was in the side corridor of the hall, organizing some documents—reports from the previous night, discreet movements in the city, names that needed to be remembered. The usual work. Methodical. Silent.

Then she felt it.

A change in the atmosphere.

Aria stopped mid-movement, her fingers still gripping the parchment.

The aura of the mansion... was different.

No longer cold and controlled as usual. There was warmth. A constant, almost electric vibration, but not aggressive.

She looked up.

And she saw.

Elizabeth was walking across the hall hand in hand with Damon.

No.

She was practically dragging him along—but cheerfully.

Aria blinked once.

Then twice.

”...Esther” she called, without looking away.

Esther appeared from the other end of the corridor, as silent as a shadow.

”—Yes?”

”Are you seeing this?”

Esther followed the direction of her gaze.

And stood completely still.

Elizabeth was smiling.

Not the subtle, elegant, and calculated smile she usually wore when she wanted to demonstrate control.

It was an open smile. Luminous. Disarming.

She was saying something to Damon—something that clearly amused her—and leaning slightly toward him as she walked, as if the entire space wasn’t enough to contain their closeness.

And, even more serious...

She was radiating happiness.

Aria swallowed hard.

—Is the mistress... alright? Ester took a few seconds to answer.

”I... believe so.”

”You believe so?”

”I’ve never seen you like this.”

Elizabeth let out a small laugh in the middle of the hall. Not loud. Not exaggerated.

Natural.

Aria almost dropped the documents.

”Is this some kind of spell?”

Ester narrowed her eyes, carefully analyzing.

”There’s no magical distortion. No external interference.”

Elizabeth then did something that almost made Aria doubt her own sanity.

She rested her chin on Damon’s shoulder for a brief second while he spoke in a low tone.

And she stayed there.

Without a rigid posture.

Without calculated distance.

Aria put her hand to her forehead.

”I need to sit down.”

Ester continued observing, but her gaze had become more attentive.

”The bond is complete,” she murmured. — Perhaps this...

Before she could finish, a third presence entered the room.

Morgana.

The woman stopped on the last step of the staircase and stood absolutely still.

Her eyes, always sharp and critical, swept the scene.

Elizabeth.

Smiling.

With a light expression.

Holding Damon’s hand as if it were natural.

Morgana crossed her arms slowly.

”...What exactly happened here?”

Aria turned immediately.

”Lady Morgana, we are also trying to understand.”

Elizabeth noticed the presence of the three at the same time.

Her red eyes moved in their direction.

For a moment, Aria and Esther instinctively prepared for the usual dominant gaze.

It didn’t come.

Elizabeth simply nodded.

Waved.

As if she were in a good mood.

”Good morning” she said, with an almost absurd gentleness.

Morgana blinked once.

”Good... morning?”

The intonation came out as an involuntary question.

Damon, beside her, seemed less surprised than he should have been.

He just observed.

Analyzed.

As always.

”Any problem?” Elizabeth asked, tilting her head slightly.

Aria opened her mouth.

Closed it.

Esther answered for her.

”No, mistress.”

Morgana descended the last steps.

She approached.

She stopped a few meters away.

Her eyes analyzed Elizabeth from head to toe.

Then they analyzed Damon.

”Did you do something?” she asked directly to him.

Damon raised an eyebrow.

”I got married.”
