Strongest Incubus System

Amidst this new world, Damon and Elizabeth traveled for an hour by carriage.

During the journey, the fog outside seemed to move as if it had a will of its own—sometimes thick as smoke, sometimes transparent as wet glass. The silence between them wasn’t uncomfortable. It was dense, charged with something he couldn’t yet name.

The interior of the carriage was far too luxurious for what seemed like a place where reality no longer obeyed conventional rules. Black velvet cushions. Crimson satin curtains. The scent of wilted roses hung in the air. Elizabeth kept her eyes closed, as if meditating... or amusing herself with her own thoughts. Damon simply watched, absorbing, trying to understand where the road ended—and where he began.

As soon as they arrived, the iron gates opened by themselves with a strange, melodic creak. Elizabeth’s mansion wasn’t just grand. It was titanic. Gothic turrets touched the purple-red sky of Pandora. The windows resembled closed eyes. Dark trees lined the path like silent sentinels.

And then, as he stepped out of the carriage, she appeared.

A maid.

Damon didn’t know what to expect... but this wasn’t it.

The maid who approached was like a living painting. A woman with platinum blonde hair that fell in perfect waves to the middle of her back, eyes a crystal blue that seemed to contain too much sky for this world. Her features were delicate, almost unreal—as if an obsessive sculptor had spent centuries perfecting every detail of her face until she achieved perfection.

And her dress... that classic maid’s outfit, with its black skirt, white apron, and lace collar, seemed tailor-made for a ball where gods would serve wine to the damned.

Damon felt his breath catch for a second.

She smiled. A small gesture. Restrained. But devastating.

”Welcome back, my lady.” She said, bowing with impeccable grace, her voice like the clink of crystal glasses. ”The hall is already prepared. The others... await you.”

Elizabeth nodded, emotionless. ”Aria, this is Damon. See that he doesn’t get lost.”

The maid, Aria, raised her eyes and rested them on Damon.

And in that instant... something stirred behind that gaze. As if behind all the angelic beauty, there lay an abyss too deep to fathom.

”It will be my pleasure to guide you, my lady,” she said, with a slight nod toward him. ”The new must be shaped with firm but gentle hands.”

Elizabeth smiled with amusement in her eyes, then walked past them toward the mansion’s staircase.

Damon stood there, staring at Aria as if trying to decipher what exactly was wrong with something so perfect.

As soon as Elizabeth disappeared through the mansion’s doors, shrouded in its crimson mist, silence returned. But this time, it wasn’t welcoming.

It was sharp.

Damon barely had time to blink. A metallic flash cut through the air.

Chink.

An icy blade pressed against the side of his neck.

The sword emerged from a hidden compartment in the maid’s skirt—so fast, so clean, it felt like magic. But it wasn’t. It was precision.

Aria, still with the same restrained smile on her lips, stared at him now with eyes far less heavenly. They were still beautiful. But hard. Crystalline steel.

”Don’t move,” she said, her voice surgically soft. The blade didn’t tremble. ”It’ll only hurt if you try to look innocent.”

Damon swallowed—or tried to. His throat was still blocked, the silence lingering like a tight collar.

”I don’t know your name. I don’t know where you came from. And I don’t care how many pretty words Lady Elizabeth used to bring you here.” Her voice was so sweet it hurt, like honey on shards of glass.

She took a step closer, the blade now pressing lightly against his skin. Damon didn’t dare blink.

”But I see what you are.”

Aria then pointed with her chin, her gaze dropping to the top of his head.

”Horns.”

And then back, where the torn skirt of the carriage revealed something else.

”Demon’s tail.”

Damon, confused, turned his head slightly, and that was when he felt it—something wiggling lightly, as if it had a life of its own.

A tail.

Black, thin, and tipped in the shape of an inverted heart.

His heart nearly stopped.

”Oh, yeah... I’m an incubus.” The realization fell like an old card forgotten in the machine.

As if it had always been there, just hidden behind the fog and shock.

Aria noticed his expression change, and finally pulled the blade away—but didn’t put it away. She simply twirled the sword in an elegant motion and rested it on her shoulder, like resting a fan.

”Good. You remember,” she said with a theatrical sigh. ”That makes it a little easier. But understand one thing, creature: Countess Elizabeth is my reason for being. My oath is to her. My body, my soul, my blade.”

She took a step closer, her eyes now darker, more intense. The smile faded.

”If you hurt her. If you even think of betraying her trust...” the blade twirled between her fingers like a toy of death, ”I will find out. And I will rip off every single one of those horns with my bare hands.”

She paused, took a deep breath, and then returned to her role as graceful servant, with an almost dancing curtsy.

”Now, come. It’s time to learn to walk among monsters without looking like food.”

Damon didn’t know if that was a threat... or a warning.
