Stealing Immortal

Chapter 149: Chapter 148: Shameless

After entering the mountain range, the pair seemed to move without a pattern, but they were actually following a predetermined route, hurrying on their way.

Chen Qingyang followed them for a long time and discovered that the woman was at the Essence Condensation Second Realm, while the man was at the Essence Condensation First Realm.

He made a quick assessment. ’If I fight both of them at once, it’ll turn into a drawn-out battle. Not only will it waste time, but they might even escape.’

The best method was to find an opportunity to kill the man with a single sword strike. Then, he could use the Separation Huo Dragon Pearl to capture the woman’s soul and interrogate her at his leisure. He was bound to get something useful out of her.

They traveled for two straight hours until the sun began to set behind the western mountains. Perhaps feeling tired, the pair stopped in a valley to rest.

The man was quite respectful toward the woman. As soon as she began to meditate, he took some Spirit Stones from his robes and offered them. ”Senior Sister Liu, this place is desolate. Please use these Spirit Stones to restore your cultivation.”

The woman glanced at him sideways. ”Heh, I suppose you’re thoughtful enough!”

She took the Spirit Stones and resumed her meditation.

The man stole a glance at her and continued, ”Senior Sister Liu, do you think this business with the Cyan Nether Sword Embryo is for real? After all, it’s been a few months. Maybe the problem lies elsewhere.”

The woman, apparently annoyed at the interruption, snorted coldly. ”The Sect has its own plans. Since when is it your place to question them? Just do as you’re told.”

Upon hearing this, the man hurriedly bowed. ”Senior Sister is right. I’m grateful for your care during this expedition. When I return, I’ll be sure to go to True Soul Mountain and request a wisp of True Demon Qi for you to show my gratitude.”

The woman snorted again, her disdain for him palpable. ”The thought is nice, but who do you think you are? Go to True Soul Mountain and request a wisp of True Demon Qi? Are you daydreaming?”

The man chuckled and opened his palm, where a green wisp of light floated. ”My father is one of the Sword Slaves under Master Luo, the Chief Steward of True Soul Mountain. My surname is also Luo. I’m sure Senior Sister can understand the connection, yes?”

The woman’s eyes widened in astonishment. She stared intently at the green, flame-like substance. ”True Demon Qi... You...”

In her astonishment, she involuntarily stood up, pressing her thighs together tightly. A syrupy-sweet smile spread across her face. ”Sen—Junior Brother, it was my fault for failing to recognize your greatness. You mustn’t be angry with me. You must be tired after traveling all day. Let me massage your legs for you.”

The man, for his part, settled into a posture of enjoyment, leaning back on a green rock and extending one leg. As the woman knelt, she subtly adjusted her dress, accentuating the graceful curve from her back, over her waist, and down to her hips. Her expression grew far more alluring.

It had to be said, she was quite attractive.

”...Mmm, your technique is quite good, Senior Sister. I imagine you’ve ’served’ quite a few of our senior brothers, haven’t you?”

The woman didn’t dare show her anger, forcing another sweet smile. ”To be honest, I’ve never been intimate with a man. I’m still a virgin.”

The tables had turned. Now it was the man’s turn to snort. One of his hands traced the curve of her body, then gave her a squeeze on a plump part of her front. ”If not a hundred men, then at least eighty. Who are you trying to fool? Everyone in the Holy Sect knows what Red Jade Peak is all about.”

The woman didn’t seem to dare argue with him. She simply said, ”Patrolling the mountains is a thankless, life-threatening job. Why would a junior brother of your noble status be willing to come out here?”

As she spoke, her hand drifted toward the top of his thigh. Just as Chen Qingyang thought he was about to witness something sordid, the man slapped her hand away.

”The Sword Embryo is real. Can’t I, Luo, try my luck? In a little while, you’d better do a good job for me. You’ll be well-rewarded when we return. And don’t try any of your Red Jade Peak tricks on me, or you’ll regret it.”

The woman didn’t dare argue and could only nod repeatedly.

After this little interlude, Chen Qingyang, who was hiding in the distance, began to get a sense of the Demon Sect’s style.

More brazen, more direct, and completely shameless!

Compared to them, while the Tai Xu Sect also sought the Dao, it couldn’t help but dress up its actions with high-sounding justifications.

He changed his mind. He should find a way to kill the woman first, then capture the man for interrogation. The man was bound to know more.

But this would undoubtedly be more difficult. He needed to find a way to separate the two of them for a while.

Unable to find an opportunity, Chen Qingyang acted like a patient hunter, tailing them closely, confident they would eventually separate.

Several more hours passed. The moon was bright and the stars were sparse, casting the world in deep darkness. In the distance, the silhouettes of the mountains stood one after another, like looming Demon Gods.

The forest was filled with all sorts of strange cries, creating a sinister atmosphere.

The man’s cultivation was lower than the woman’s, after all. Growing tired, he suggested, ”Let’s go down to the stream and rest for a bit. We can continue once we’ve recovered.”

At that moment, Chen Qingyang finally got a clear look. The woman was holding a map. She would gaze around at their surroundings, then use her finger like a brush to make marks on it.

”Junior Brother, if we just walk for a few more hours, we’ll finish this circuit. Then we won’t have to work so hard and can go back to report.”

”Hmph! You can walk the rest of the way yourself. I need to rest.”

With that, the man landed on a rock, took out his Spirit Stones, and began meditating to recover.

The woman could only offer another sweet smile. ”Junior Brother is right. We are in Daoist Sect territory, after all. We should conserve our strength to face any potential crisis.”

She landed beside the man as well. Soon, the man’s aura began to fluctuate as he entered a state of cultivation. The woman glanced around and was about to sit down when she suddenly saw a flash of fire-colored light up ahead.

It was incredibly faint; a person with normal vision wouldn’t have even noticed it.

The woman glanced at the man and saw he hadn’t stirred. ”Junior Brother,” she said, ”I’m going to check something out up ahead. You stay here. I’ll be right back.”

With that, she used her Wind Control Skill and crept stealthily toward the flicker of fire.

At first, she was extremely cautious in the face of this unknown object, even pressing her body into the bushes for cover.

As she drew closer, the flame’s color grew more distinct. She could even feel a pure Qi Mechanism emanating from it. ’It’s like a Magical Treasure!’ she thought.

The woman hesitated. ’Is someone controlling it, or is it truly an ownerless object?’ she wondered.

Since they wouldn’t separate on their own, Chen Qingyang created the opportunity. It was a wisp of Li Yang Earth Fire left behind by his Conscious Fish, something easily mistaken for a treasure.

In the end, the woman couldn’t contain her curiosity. After hesitating for a moment and carefully surveying her surroundings, she crept a little closer.

Now that she was closer, she could see it clearly: a wisp of flame burning on a rock.

’A fire from within a stone... How miraculous!’

The woman glanced back, but her junior brother was no longer in sight. The desire to claim this prize for herself grew ever stronger.

But just then, she sensed that something was wrong with the ambient Qi Mechanism. When she whipped her head around, a figure was streaking toward her through the darkness.

”Who’s there!”

She cried out, but her hands moved without a moment’s delay, instantly summoning a Flying Sword.

Red light pulsed from the sword, rippling out in waves as it shot straight toward Chen Qingyang.

Just as it was about to reach him, Chen Qingyang’s True Qi erupted. He executed three consecutive moves from the Danxia Nourishing Truth Sword Manual, all of which slammed into the Flying Sword and instantly knocked it back.

His speed didn’t decrease in the slightest as a sky full of Silver Light Sword Qi instantly enveloped the woman.

”Ah!” the woman cried out. By the time she managed to dissipate the force of the attack, her body was already covered in numerous sword cuts.

”Daoist Dog!”

The woman cursed, glanced in her junior brother’s direction, and urged her Flying Sword to attack Chen Qingyang once more.

But just as she focused all her attention on her enemy, she felt a fire ignite in her mind as an unknown force slammed into it.

Her mind instantly destabilized, and she nearly stumbled to the ground. Her Flying Sword lost its connection to her, its lethality against Chen Qingyang vanishing in an instant.

Seizing the opportunity, Chen Qingyang thrust his sword straight for her throat. Though the blow wasn’t fatal, it severed the flow of the Qi Mechanism between her Spiritual Sea and her Dantian, instantly wiping out eighty percent of her cultivation.

Such a commotion had surely alerted her junior brother. He was already rushing over, his body shrouded in a green glow.

Chen Qingyang didn’t dare to hesitate and hurriedly thrust his sword again. But the woman was fast. In her desperation, she summoned a Magical Artifact that blocked his strike.

The impact even made his arm go numb. ’What a powerful Protective Magical Artifact!’ he thought.

At this point, he had no choice but to ignore the woman for the moment. He made a feint in her direction, then spun around and unleashed a devastating strike at the man.

His opponent was only at the First Realm of Essence Condensation; he should have been able to finish him in a single move. But to his utter shock, a violent green light erupted from the man’s body, its power so immense that it completely engulfed Chen Qingyang.

’Dammit, I almost forgot about that!’

’The man’s father was a Sword Slave to a Foundation Establishment Master. He might have been granted a favor and given one or two incredible treasures.’

He hurriedly summoned the Separation Huo Dragon Pearl to counter the green light. Although he managed to block the attack, his own meridians were injured in the process.

It was only thanks to the abundant Li Yang Earth Fire within the Separation Huo Dragon Pearl that he escaped with only minor injuries.

Seeing that the situation had turned against him, the man immediately tried to flee. But Chen Qingyang’s Conscious Fish struck again, slamming into his Spiritual Sea.

The blow landed squarely. The man had no way to dodge and instantly plummeted to the ground.

’He won’t get far,’ Chen Qingyang thought. Leaving his Conscious Fish to monitor the man, he turned his attack back on the woman.

By now, the woman had lost most of her will to resist. Seeing the Sword Qi rushing toward her, she began to beg for her life. ”Immortal Monarch, spare me! Immortal Monarch, please! As long as you spare my life, I’ll tell you anything!”

Chen Qingyang halted his sword. ”What can you tell me?”

The woman’s eyes darted around as she quickly processed the situation. ”Immortal Monarch, my cultivation is higher than his! I definitely know more than he does! And I’m also much more... versatile and passionate, you see... I can be of great use to you, Immortal Monarch...”

Chen Qingyang sneered. ”Very well. I’ll spare your life.”

Just as the woman thought her life was saved, she saw the Danxia Sword Radiance rushing toward her once more.

”Shameless bastard!” These were the last two words she managed to curse.
