Slime Evolution

Chapter 215: 215 - Characteristics [CASTLE BONUS]

”Is that... biomass?”

Lohan couldn’t believe what he was ”seeing.”

Ever since he gained the Slime’s perception abilities in the real world, he had a certain level of vision beyond that of ordinary humans... or rather, his vision was far superior to that of ordinary humans.

Especially as his Evolutions accumulated and he raised the level of those Evolutions, his vision and perception in the real world increased proportionally.

So looking at his own body now, Lohan could clearly see that although he still looked like a normal human, given how accustomed he was to the gelatinous biomass structure that was the Slime’s body, he could notice small characteristics that only that body should have!

For example...

Reaching his hand forward, Lohan visualized the sensation and commanded his own body with a mental image, and just as he imagined, a sixth finger appeared on his hand!

Touching it carefully, he realized that this finger wasn’t made of flesh and bone, but of a much more malleable and gelatinous substance.

’This is clearly biomass... damn, am I turning into a Slime in the real world?!’ He was shocked.

’If the old Lohan had realized this, he might have fallen into complete despair, but knowing the potential this Mythical Race holds, I don’t think this transformation is a disadvantage...’

Just as his Slime body had undergone a structural transformation in terms of resilience, strength, and power, his human body, if he could even call it human now, had also gained these characteristics proportionally.

And not only had the basic structural characteristics of the Slime been enhanced, but Lohan also felt that his evolutions, which he had previously struggled to wield even a fraction of their power in the real world, were now much easier to achieve!

To test it, Lohan couldn’t resist, and with his hand open, he curled his middle and ring fingers inward, forming the classic Web Head pose. With a forward flick of his wrist, just as he had done before, the magical web shot out from his wrist, but now, he felt that instead of being just an ordinary, sturdy web, this was truly the magical web!

’Fuck! I finally did it!’

Even though he had used the web in combat before, he had already realized that the web’s absorption properties in the real world were practically nonexistent, but now, after the evolution, these webs were practically indistinguishable from Elysium!

Sure, the absorption power was much weaker than in Elysium, but in a situation where he had to face other Players, this would be a huge advantage!

And testing the reverse process, he realized that ingesting biomass or Mana was also possible, just like in Elysium!

’Holy shit, if the corporations find out I can do this, I’m screwed...’

Curious, Lohan decided to test his other skills, and now they all worked perfectly in the real world!

Since his body seemed to have actually started transforming into a Slime, his skills now reacted exactly as they did when he was a Slime!

DING, DING, DING!

Suddenly, his phone started ringing with notifications coming in nonstop.

He wondered for a moment who could be texting him like this in the middle of the night, but realizing there was only one possible answer, he smiled and picked up his phone curiously, wanting to know what had changed with Lisa as well.

But when he looked at the phone screen, he was lost.

[Lisa: HALON!! ARE YOU THERE?!]

[Lisa: HALON, ANSWER ME!!]

[Lisa: HALON, HAVE YOU HAD CHANGES IN YOUR BODY TOO?!]

Reading those messages, he was confused, but he also found the girl’s reaction funny.

[Hayes: Hey Lisa, yeah haha! Did you notice that too? Man, I’m feeling amazing!]

[Lisa: Amazing?! Halon, I look terrible!!!!]

That left him confused.

If the same thing had happened to Lisa as had happened to him, shouldn’t she have acquired fox-like features in the real world, where that would be terrible?

[Hayes: What’s wrong? Are you okay?]

[Lisa: No! If anyone sees me like this, people will think I’m a monster, laugh at me, and my reputation will be ruined, Halon... please tell me you’ve figured out how to reverse this.]

With that reaction, Lohan was both worried and curious.

He couldn’t imagine which fox trait had Lisa so worried, could it be that she’d grown fox legs? That really would be strange on a human body.

[Hayes: I don’t know exactly if there’s a way to reverse it, but I’ve managed to control my body to look aesthetically like a normal human; from what I’ve noticed, if someone looks at me normally, I’m indistinguishable from a normal person.]

[Lisa: Seriously?! Halon, you’re my savior!!! Thank you so much!!! How do I get back to normal?!]

[Hayes: I don’t know of any specific process. Since in Slime form I’m constantly adapting physically to change shape, I just imagine myself doing that in the real world... to be honest, I’m not even sure if it’ll work for you.]

[Lisa: It doesn’t hurt to try... okay, I’ll try to imagine myself without these awful ears! Thank you so much, Halon!]

[Hayes: WAIT! Ears?! You have fox ears on your head?!]

[Lisa: Yes... please don’t laugh at me... I just want to get rid of these horrible things... I look like a Thalendor beast girl...]

Lohan was shocked by what he was reading.

Going over this body’s memories, he realized that in this world, the culture of animal ears didn’t exist! People here didn’t know how to appreciate such cute things.

[Hayes:

Laugh? Laugh at you? You must look so cute with those ears on your head... I’d give anything to see what you look like right now... 😭]
[Lisa: ... ]

[Lisa: What? Do you really think those things are cute?]

[Hayes: Yeah! Sure, it’s not like I go crazy when I see it, but I really do think that feature is super cute, and considering how beautiful you are, those ears must have made you even better-looking... You know what I’ve gotten as a Slime? So far I’ve managed to grow a sixth finger on my hand... maybe I should try growing ears on my head too?]

[Lisa: Wait, are you seriously even thinking about growing ears on your head too? Do you really like that?]

[Hayes: Yeah, actually I’m already trying to grow wolf ears on my head as I type; it’s actually a good way to practice controlling my new energy in this world, haha.]

...

Then the chat went quiet for a few minutes.

Lohan was actually practicing trying to make wolf ears on his own head.

Not because he was a furry or anything like that, just because he felt it would be something fun to do, and as he told Lisa, he was pushing his control to the limit to replicate it.

’If I can do this, in the future even changing my face at will won’t be impossible!’

Suddenly Lisa replied again.

[Lisa: Thanks for the help, I finally managed to make the ears hide inside me. I can still feel them here, but at least now they’re no longer visible... As a thank you, keep this, but don’t ever bring this subject up again in your life! I only took this photo to reward you for the valuable information!!]
