SINFULLY YOURS

Chapter 68: Chapter 68. What Have You Done?

Chapter 68. What Have You Done?

He couldn’t tell how much time had passed. All he recognized was the darkness clouding his vision as his consciousness slowly drifted back. He frowned, realizing his eyes were still closed.

What the fuck? he thought. Did I sleep off? When did I even fall asleep?

All he could remember was trying to endure the raging hard-on and the swelling mix of hot sensation that had flooded his entire body. It was all because of the pesky, tempting seductress currently lying beside him, snuggling herself up close to his side.

He shook his head quickly. Good Lord, he breathed out. How long can I keep bearing this?

He moved his hand, his mind idly imagining sliding it against the bare, smooth skin of her legs. But the moment he felt her, he flinched, jerking his hand away as if she had burned him. The electricity that shot through his spine was absolute fire.

Fuck!

Slowly opening his eyes, he looked down to find himself lying back down. She was still snuggled close, but her leg was now wrapped around his groin area, as if placed there with deliberate intent. The friction of her skin pressed against his groin was a searing force, making him feel like he was being stabbed by a million needles all over his frame.

This is driving me crazy, he thought, closing his eyes and letting out another strained breath. Holy shit.

He tilted his head to the side, grinding his teeth for a few seconds before shaking his head. Nope, he decided. Not anymore. I can’t do this.

He chuckled nervously to himself. She’s sleeping now. I should seize this opportunity. Take this chance to pull away from her and pretend this nonsense never happened.

He reached for her leg, gritting his teeth as he prepared to turn and catch her sleeping. Instead, he was met with her sharp, big, remarkably cute dark brown eyes staring at him in a daze. The sight caught him completely off guard.

He flinched, jerking back instantly. ”Holy mother of...” he murmured, placing a hand over his chest.

He frowned, raising an eyebrow as he noticed the way she leaned against his shoulder, staring at him intensely through squinted eyelids. His jaw hung open. ”Are you... are you okay?” he asked.

She blinked once. Blinked twice.

Then, all at once, it seemed as if she finally realized he was awake. Her cheeks instantly flushed a deep red. She dragged her leg away from his waist as fast as she could, the sudden loss of friction leaving a blinding heat behind.

He groaned, squeezing his eyes shut and clenching his fists. Holy fuck!

She scrambled away from him, sitting up at the edge of the bed with her back turned to him. He quickly rolled to the other side, doing his best to use the bulk of his body to hide the visible bulge her skin had caused.

Raking his fingers through his hair, he exhaled sharply. Oh, good fucking Lord.

He sat up as fast as he could, a blazing, angry heat flushing his face that he couldn’t quite suppress.

”Um... I’m... I’m sorry, I...” she began to stammer.

Frowning, he slowly turned his head to look at her. She had already gotten off the bed completely, her fingers tightly laced together as she stared down at the floor. Strands of her wavy dark brown hair fell wildly over her face.

The nervousness had returned. The shy girl who got easily flustered by things like this was finally back.

He chuckled, shaking his head in disbelief. It was obvious now—she clearly hadn’t been in her right mind moments ago. It was just her subconscious taking over.

He closed his eyes and pressed his palm against his temple, slowly pinching the bridge of his nose. Goodness, I should have done my best to resist. I shouldn’t have stayed, he scolded himself. I’ve already gone way too far. What the fuck am I doing?

Everything was moving too fast. He exhaled heavily and looked back at her, noticing how her eyes darted left and right, desperately trying to avoid his piercing gaze.

Nodding his head slowly, he tried to brush it off. ”It’s all right, forget about it,” he said quickly.

”No, it’s not all right,” she stammered, nervously scratching at her neck. ”I... I wasn’t thinking.”

He studied her face. He could clearly see the confusion tormenting her. Something was bugging her, and he could already guess what it was. She was probably seeing things she wasn’t supposed to be seeing.

Lord, he thought, quickly averting his gaze. This is getting worse.

He stood up as fast as he could and adjusted his clothes, glancing down at his pants. He angrily shifted his trousers, trying to force the bulge into hiding. It failed.

Fuck!

Even just her presence was affecting him this severely. Gathering every ounce of willpower he had left, he shoved both hands into his trouser pockets, using them to discreetly press himself down. He took a deep breath, squaring his shoulders to look presentable, before turning back to face her.

”It’s fine,” he insisted, forcing his tone to remain nonchalant. ”Nothing happened.”

His voice came out sharper and more erratic than intended. ”You sounded quite off. I just felt like I should console you. If you were feeling weak and couldn’t hold yourself together, why did you have to come to the music room? Why did you have to faint all over my floor like that?”

He tried to inject harshness into his voice to build a wall between them. ”Watch yourself, young lady.”

Squaring his shoulders once more, he briskly made his way toward the entrance. But just as his hand gripped the cold metal of the doorknob, her voice cut through the silence.

”Mr. Don...”

He froze. Frowning at the door, his mind raced. Come on, what now? What the fuck do you want from me?

Bracing himself, he slowly turned around to face her.

She was nervously fiddling with her fingers. ”I hope it’s not going to be too much trouble,” she said softly. ”It’s just... I’m inquisitive, and there’s something bothering me. I just wish you would give me an answer.”

He folded his arms, narrowing his eyes as he regarded her suspiciously. ”What is it?”

Oh good Lord, please don’t let it be what I think it is.

Rosa closed her eyes, taking a slow, shaky breath in and out. ”It’s just that... the tune. The tune you played on the piano moments ago...”

She lifted her eyes to meet his. He watched as they filled with tears, glistening softly before she began to cry again. His arms instantly unfolded and dropped to his sides, worry replacing his defensive stance.

”I’m just...” She choked back a sob, quickly wiping away a tear that escaped down her cheek.

What the fuck? he thought, bewildered. What is this about?

”Like... what is that tune you played on the piano?” she asked.

He clenched his fists, his frown deepening. Why was she asking about that all of a sudden? Did she recognize it?

Oh Lord, I knew I shouldn’t have played that.

Looking to the side, he quickly refolded his arms. ”It’s nothing,” he dismissed coldly.

He turned around, reaching for the door once more. But before his fingers could touch the knob, her hand wrapped tightly around his wrist.

She pulled him backward with a sudden force that caught him completely off guard. His feet stumbled out from under him. He staggered backward until the back of his legs hit the mattress, leaving him sitting on the edge of the bed, staring at the ground in sheer disbelief.

What the fuck?

Before he could react, she moved right in front of him. Placing a hand on each of his shoulders, she climbed onto his lap, straddling him and pinning him in place.

His eyes widened in shock.

She sat atop him, panting heavily, her breath hitching in her chest. ”I’m sorry,” she said quickly, her voice trembling. ”This is the only way I could think of to make you listen to me. You seem so desperate to leave, but I’m not going to rest until I find an answer. I don’t know why I keep feeling this way, and that music won’t leave my head. It’s driving me crazy! So please, just talk to me and tell me what that was. Because I am definitely not leaving until you tell me.”

He blinked once. Blinked twice.

Holy fucking shit, he thought, panic seizing him. What have you done, Don?
