Samsara Tower: Only I Know the Plot!

Next,

Agoni personally invited Fenric to his office for a lengthy conversation.

This scene left many heroes nearby filled with envy.

In the office.

After exchanging pleasantries, Agoni smiled and said, ”Mundo-kun, I’m very pleased that you’ve chosen to join the Hero Association!”

Fenric was no fool and responded politely, ”My dream is to become a hero. Speaking of which, I must thank Mr. Agoni for making heroism legitimate and organized instead of chaotic and scattered. I believe that under your leadership, the Hero Association will undoubtedly shine at its brightest.”

Hearing this, a radiant smile spread across Agoni’s aged face.

His original motivation for establishing the Hero Association had been fame and profit.

As for his grandson being saved by a hero, that had merely served as an opportunity—an excuse.

Fenric’s words resonated deeply with Agoni, making him very pleased.

”Mundo-kun, on behalf of the Hero Association, I welcome you!” Algney said with a smile. ”We also hope that more people like you will join us!”

”Thank you, Mr. Agoni. The honor is mine.”

Their hands clasped firmly.

So far, the conversation between the two had been extremely pleasant...

Fenric suddenly asked, ”Mr. Agoni, I heard that you’ve established a ranking system for the heroes?”

”Yes!”

Agoni smiled and replied, ”I believe every hero has different strengths and weaknesses, and the ranking system is based primarily on their power.”

”Although it may seem somewhat unfair to measure a hero’s status solely by strength... however! The disasters caused by monsters are of the utmost seriousness; many cities have already been destroyed because of them. Powerful monsters can only be handled by powerful heroes!!”

”I’ve divided heroes into four ranks: S, A, B, and C. Those slightly stronger than ordinary people are C-rank, while the strongest heroes are S-rank. In my vision, S-rank heroes are the association’s trump cards, specially designated to deal with the most dangerous monsters!”

Toward the end, Agoni’s tone carried unmistakable pride.

He was clearly quite satisfied with his own foresight and planning.

Fenric asked calmly, ”Then in Mr. Agoni’s opinion, what rank do I qualify for?”

Agoni was momentarily stunned.

He likely had not expected Fenric to be so direct...

Originally, in Agoni’s estimation, based on his grandson’s account of the incident, Fenric could at most be ranked C or perhaps the lower end of B...

Defeating a crab-type monster alone was not a small feat; such an evaluation was already generous.

However, considering that Fenric had saved his grandson, Agoni decided to be more generous and grant him an A-rank hero status.

”A-rank!”

Agoni adopted a grateful expression and said, ”Mundo-kun, my grandson told me everything about that day. Your bravery in fighting the monster and saving him deserves an A-rank evaluation!”

After saying this, Agoni observed Fenric and noticed that he remained expressionless—almost overly calm.

This was not normal.

Shouldn’t he be excited or grateful?

Assuming Fenric might not fully understand the ranking system, Agoni elaborated, ”Mundo-kun, as an A-rank hero, you’ll receive a monthly stipend of 3 million yen... At the same time, you’ll have certain authority to provide recommendations regarding B-rank and C-rank hero evaluations, and the association will respect your opinions.”

Three million yen amounted to roughly $20,000.

For an A-rank hero, such a sum was quite generous.

But...

Was Fenric someone who cared about money?

”However,” Fenric said calmly, ”Mr. Agoni, my purpose in joining the Hero Association is to become an S-rank hero—and to become the number one S-rank hero.”

Agoni froze upon hearing this.

”What?”

”That’s impossible!!”

He had never expected the young man before him to harbor such bold ambitions.

Number one S-rank hero?

What an absurd notion!

With your abilities, do you truly believe you can secure and maintain the top position among S-rank heroes?

Moreover, in Agoni’s vision, the Hero Association had tremendous potential. He even hoped to leverage it for greater political influence—otherwise, he would not have invested so heavily.

Therefore, Agoni took the association extremely seriously and would never allow it to become a farce.

In his opinion, using his connections to secure Fenric an A-rank status had already been exceedingly generous.

Yet this young man showed no gratitude.

At that thought, Agoni’s attitude toward Fenric immediately cooled.

”Mr. Mundo, although I founded the Hero Association, it is subject to supervision from various sectors of society. Even I cannot abuse my authority to interfere excessively in its internal operations. Your desire to become the number one S-rank hero is unrealistic, and no one would respect such a claim.”

Fenric chuckled lightly. ”Mr. Agoni, there’s no need to refuse so quickly... According to what you said earlier, to become an S-rank hero, one must possess overwhelming strength, correct?”

Agoni nodded. ”That’s correct.”

”Then I believe that with my strength, I am qualified to become the number one S-rank hero—and no one should dare to object,” Fenric stated seriously.

His tone was brimming with confidence.

It was not blind arrogance.

Rather, in this world, aside from the bald demon king who stood at the absolute peak, Fenric feared no other powerhouse, no matter how formidable.

Even Boros—the future cosmic overlord—was someone Fenric believed he could confront!

Fenric acknowledged that Boros was indeed far stronger than he was...

If a true battle erupted, even if he unleashed his ultimate move, his chances of victory might not be high.

But Fenric was not afraid.

He possessed numerous abilities, far beyond his devastating tremor power and ultimate technique.

He also had self-healing, max-level Armament Haki, anti-gravity flight, Death Sense to perceive danger, and Savage Charge—a five-second invincibility buff!

Many of these abilities were rarely displayed.

However, that did not diminish their power.

Boros’s ultimate Earth-destroying attack could be completely neutralized by Fenric’s invincible state from Savage Charge!

With such strength, in this world, aside from the bald demon king, whom did Fenric need to fear?
