Samsara Tower: Only I Know the Plot!

Chapter 377: Chapter 378: Assessment Copy – The World of Mutants (4/8)

Reading the post, Fenric was momentarily taken aback.

”So, starting from the fifteenth floor, all Samsaras from every region compete together?”

It was the first time he had learned of such a rule.

He scrolled further down, reading the replies:

: ”Original +1. Lord Shura, don’t go easy on foreigners.”

: ”+1. Especially against the Samsaras from the Cindralock Dominion. Many dungeons are modeled after their country, so they always have an advantage and bully Samsaras from other regions. Lord Shura, avenge us!”

: ”Haha, anyone competing with Shura is just asking to die. This is going to be fun to watch!”

: ”Noob here, why does the global competition only start from the fifteenth floor? Why not earlier?”

: ”Replying to the comment above—probably because the higher the level, the fewer Samsaras remain. The Tower likely set this up to maintain competitiveness. Nobody knows for sure though.”

: ”It’s a shame the Samsara Tower’s dungeons can’t be broadcast live. Imagine watching Shura crush foreigners in real-time!”

: ”Don’t be overconfident. There should be plenty of strong players abroad too.”

: ”Are you new to the internet? Shura God is ranked sixth overall. Do you understand what that means? At the same dungeon level, unless he deliberately throws the fight, who can beat him?”

: ”Heh, watch him trip over himself.”

Eleventh Floor: ”Catch the five-haired mutt upstairs! Excuse me, is your father a foreigner?”

From there, the thread devolved into a shouting match.

Fenric closed the post.

The only useful takeaway was that his next dungeon would pit him against countless foreign Samsaras.

But so what?

As the replies had said, on the fifteenth floor, he was undoubtedly the strongest. Stronger by more than just a little. His power crushed the competition, and fear was meaningless.

If they didn’t provoke him, he wouldn’t bother. But if they did—Fenric would show no mercy.

Next, he opened the Strategy Section, looking for information on the fifteenth floor.

There were very few posts—unsurprising at such a high level. Thankfully, the official guide had been released.

Fenric recalled that Aurora had once mentioned the officials would stop releasing guides after the twentieth floor.

When he saw the title of the fifteenth floor’s official dungeon, his eyes narrowed slightly.

”X-Men: Days of Future Past.”

”This copy? Isn’t every fifth floor supposed to be an assessment dungeon? How is this considered an assessment?”

Curious, he began reading.

Official Guide:

”Congratulations to everyone who’s reached the fifteenth floor. If you’ve come this far, you’re already extraordinary. Enough pleasantries—let’s get straight to the point.”

”As for this dungeon’s strategy, I haven’t personally cleared it. What follows is based on the experiences of those who have. If there are mistakes, forgive me.”

”The fifteenth floor is indeed an assessment copy, titled X-Men: Days of Future Past.”

”As everyone knows, assessment dungeons are far more difficult. The last one rewarded Devil Fruits that weren’t particularly impressive, so I’ve been reluctant to attempt this myself. From what I’ve heard, however, the enemies here are terrifying.”

”Upon entering, all Samsaras will be placed in a world on the brink of apocalypse. In this world, powerful mutants exist. To counter them, the government has created advanced Sentinel robots programmed to exterminate mutants and anyone carrying mutant genes. The problem is that countless humans carry such genes, and the Sentinels slaughter indiscriminately, throwing the world into chaos.”

”The Samsaras’ task is simple in wording but brutal in practice: survive for at least 30 days and kill at least one true mutant. Ordinary humans with recessive mutant genes don’t count.”

”This task is strange, because in this world mutants are already a persecuted minority, hunted relentlessly by the Sentinels. They are on the brink of extinction.”

”What makes it worse: even though we Samsaras don’t carry mutant genes, the system marks us as targets. To the Sentinels, we are no different from mutants. That means we’ll be hunted, too.”

”So, while avoiding Sentinel pursuit, we must also hunt down mutants. Welcome to the nightmare.”

”The Sentinels are formidable. A single one is roughly senior B-rank, bordering on A-rank. Worse, they usually hunt in groups. If you encounter them, your best bet is to hide.”

”As for the mutants—they’re few and scattered, living like rats. But if you can find their hidden camps, you could wipe them out in one strike and earn massive rewards.”

”System notes: the more mutants you kill, the higher your evaluation.”

”But heed this warning—if you encounter mutants with an ’X’ insignia on their uniforms, avoid them. They are members of the X-Men, the elite force resisting the Sentinels. Each of them possesses terrifying abilities. Without at least A-rank comprehensive strength, engaging them is suicide.”

”That’s all I know. The rest will depend on your performance. Good luck to everyone.”
