Rising from Small Cloud Rain Technique

Chapter 240: Chapter 227: Discussion

Cloud-Top Jade is a tea tree, from which the leaves are harvested to produce Cloud Peak Silver Needle.

This Spirit Tea, once refined, can mildly increase one’s magical power and, most importantly, expedite the recovery of consumed Divine Sense.

For Talisman Makers, Artifact Refiners, Alchemists, and various artisans, it is an excellent beverage.

After considerable Divine Sense consumption, these artisans quickly restore it by drinking Spirit Tea and burning specially-made incense.

“Junior Brother, quickly open it up! To secure high-quality advanced spirit seeds, I’ve been tirelessly procuring them for the past two years.”

Liuu Suyun urged, having spent significant resources on these two spirit seeds.

These are rare seeds treasured by her maternal clan, and they would never have offered them if the other party hadn’t urgently needed Tier Two Spirit Silk.

However, the other party also demanded to sign an agreement that she must increase the trade volume of Spirit Silk by thirty percent in five years.

Considering that Red Flame Peak could provide abundant Tier Two Mulberry Leaves and enough production of Golden Silk Worm Silk, which would not affect her supply to the sect and other cultivators, she felt confident in agreeing.

“Senior Sister, I appreciate your efforts. Haha, Senior Sister can annually trade fifty Earth Spirit Fruit Trees with Spirit Stones, and this quota can accumulate.

Furthermore, once the tea tree is cultivated to Tier Two Lower Grade, I will annually gift Senior Sister two pounds of Spirit Tea.

If Senior Sister can provide more high-tier spirit seeds, I will also reciprocate.”

Ji An promised, offering incentives.

A personal connection is merely a basis for interaction; relying solely on it seems insubstantial.

Liuu Suyun playfully teased:

“Junior Brother, you better hurry; who knows when your second Earth Spirit Fruit Tree will transform.”

The annual trade quota of fifty units made her very satisfied, and this accumulation allowed more flexibility.

From Junior Brother’s promised conditions, a single tea seed yielded an annual gain of one pound of tea—an unexpected benefit not available in other Spirit Farmer trades.

From now on, if she could obtain advanced spirit seeds, she would definitely send them to Junior Brother.

“Senior Sister needn’t worry; my reliability is trustworthy.

Cultivating the third and fourth Earth Spirit Fruit Tree is inevitable; it’s just a matter of patience.”

“I believe you.”

Ji An smiled:

“Senior Sister, please come into the living room to talk.”

After talking for so long outside, he felt he hadn’t hosted properly.

The two entered the living room and sat as host and guest.

Xia Yuhuan served Spirit Tea and then stood by.

Ji An opened the box, revealing two egg-sized spherical seeds emitting a faint spirit light.

The seeds were dark green, plump, and had white patterns.

The patterns resembled clouds, which gave Cloud-Top Jade its name.

He took out a seed and sensed its life force, nodding slightly; the seed was vibrant with life.

He began to apply the Jade Wood Transformation Skill, and the powerful magical intent permeated.

The verdant, life-filled green light gathered in his palm and slowly merged into the seed.

Liuu Suyun watched intently, her eyes slightly narrowed.

When these seeds were traded, cultivators from her maternal clan similarly nourished them with the Jade Wood Transformation Skill before her, but they could no longer accommodate more Wood Element Spirit Light.

This proved Junior Brother’s magic technique was superior.

The green light encircled the seed, unable to absorb more spirit light.

Ji An put the seed away, smiling:

“Tonight, I’ll seek a suitable place to plant them; within years, Senior Sister will receive tea leaves.”

Luofeng Valley boasts several Tier Two Upper Grade Cloud-Top Jade trees, renowned in the Western Continent.

This grade of tea tree benefits Chao Origin Stage cultivators opening Four Mansions, being one of the highest tier resources they possess.

Red Flame Peak has Tier Two Mid-grade Spirit Fields, coupled with Ji An’s planting technique prowess and the seeds’ robust roots, he is confident of cultivating Tier Two Mid-grade tea trees.

“I’m looking forward to it.”

Liuu Suyun’s eyes curved like crescent moons, as this Junior Brother has never disappointed her.

Ji An transmitted a message to the attendant:

“Fetch a bamboo tube of Pine Nut Wine to gift Senior Sister when she leaves.”

Senior Sister Liuu chose an Earth Element Cultivation Method, which Pine Nut Wine would effectively complement.

The attendant nodded slightly, stepped out of the living room.

Ji An lifted his tea cup:

“Senior Sister, savor the Spirit Tea; it’s Tier Two Cloud Peak Silver Needle from Mingfeng Mountain Immortal City I’ve acquired.”

Going forward, the Spirit Tea from Red Flame Peak will exceed this in both flavor and spirit qi.

Cloud Peak Silver Needle belongs to Wood Element Spirit Plants, tending daily with three Great Perfection Level Foundation Establishment Stage magic techniques will surely surpass Luofeng Valley’s tea quality.

He paused and added:

“Recently, the Ghost Moon Cyan Jade Tree at Red Flame Peak reached top-grade level; next year, Senior Sister can taste Jade Dew Golden Bud Tea.”

Liuu Suyun promptly said:

“Make sure to reserve some for me, Junior Brother. What kind of spiritual resources do you need? I’ll start gathering them now.”

No cultivator would pass up Spirit Tea capable of nurturing the Spirit Soul.

If possible, she plans to purchase as much as she can.

Ji An shook his head slightly, stating:

“Senior Sister, the tea tree’s age is merely around thirty years; the yield remains too low.

Jade Dew Golden Bud Tea won’t be sold for now, only shared with close friends and elders as a taste.

Hmm… I estimate it will be another four or five years before I can sell and trade for resources.”

He expects the tea trees to produce at most two or three pounds of tea leaves right now, and the effects of several planting techniques on the tea trees are far less obvious than on the Biluo Tree.

He keeps it for his own use and doesn’t have enough yet, so he won’t consider selling it.

In a few more years, when the tea trees reach fifty years old, the yield will increase somewhat.

“I understand that. Can I book the tea leaves for five years from now?”

Over the years of interaction, Liuu Suyun has come to know clearly that this junior brother prioritizes using the resources he gains for his own cultivation.

This philosophy must be the reason why his cultivation speed has been improving rapidly, and he’s about to catch up with her.

“Alright, but at most two taels a year can be sold to Senior Sister.

The trading volume will only gradually increase once the spirit trees’ tea yield increases.

Senior Sister can exchange with Profound Yellow Soil, as it’s the resource I need the most.”

At this point in the conversation, Ji An could not refuse any further.

Her cultivation method of the Earth element also requires Profound Yellow Soil for refinement, and her demand is much greater than his. He wondered if she had more channels to acquire spiritual objects.

Liuu Suyun looked a little troubled but finally nodded heavily:

“Alright, I agree.”

In recent years, she has woven high-tier array banners and traded them with sects and cultivators of Yuanhe Mountain for many Earth-elemental spiritual objects, hoping to use them when further progress becomes possible.

However, talking about this now is premature; she’s only in the seventh layer of Foundation Establishment, and even if the day comes when she can use them, it will be at least thirty or forty years from now.

Profound Yellow Soil isn’t a very rare resource, but Jade Dew Golden Bud is, and she can now acquire some of it entirely because of her close ties with her junior brother.

Liuu Suyun is now particularly grateful that this junior brother does not like to make connections with fellow cultivators everywhere. Otherwise, it would be difficult for her to even get a two tael share of spirit tea.

She knows her own resources aren’t what he urgently needs.

Thinking of this, she decided to do something about it.

“Junior Brother, have you ever considered getting a set of magic arrays?

The kind that’s used for hunting demon beasts, small arrays suitable for both offense and defense.

With the demon calamity about to break out, there will be plenty of opportunities to use such arrays.”

Mountain Protection Arrays rely on earth veins and require at least dozens of array discs, which need to be buried at the corresponding spiritual vein nodes to be effective.

When hunting demon beasts, time is of the essence, particularly during an encounter, making it impossible to survey earth veins and set up large-scale arrays.

That’s when small and micro arrays become necessary, requiring a few array discs and matching array banners.

By loading the array discs with spirit stones, they can be activated and evolve into killing arrays or defense arrays.

Ji An slightly pursed his lips and said:

“I don’t need that kind of array.”

Even if a demon calamity breaks out, he won’t be summoned for a short time.

During a stalemate phase in the war, he would participate, but it would probably be to defend a position.

There is no point in using an array without engaging in direct combat with demon beasts.

Moreover, once an array is set, it loses flexibility, which is useful for hunting and ambushing demon beasts, but otherwise, it’s not practical.

If the array is surrounded, the chance of escape is slim.

Liuu Suyun sighed slightly and said:

“If you ever need such an array in the future, please let me know in advance.

The Tier Two Spirit Silk production in the Silk Cave is increasing, and I have collaborations with several high-tier array masters from the sect.

The Tier Two Lower Grade arrays can temporarily withstand an attack from a Chao Origin Stage Cultivator.”

She decided to propose using Profound Yellow Soil in her trades with other cultivators, or else she would have to use her resource reserves, which she hoped to avoid.

Ji An nodded slightly and laughed:

“Alright, I will definitely disturb Senior Sister if needed.

This year, I can already accumulate Earth Spirit Fruit share for you, to show sincerity.

One of my Tier Two Earth Spirit Fruit Trees has started bearing fruit, and based on experience, the fruits should mature in about thirteen to fourteen months.”

He is now considered an experienced elder spirit farmer and can estimate the maturity time of spirit fruits.

The reason for promising the accumulated share is to make a concession himself first so that the other party won’t make excessive demands later.

Liuu Suyun’s face brightened instantly, and she nodded repeatedly.

This concession of fifty fruits indeed shows the junior brother’s sincerity.

After a while, the two happily enjoyed lunch together.

During the meal, they talked about the sect’s situation and the situation on the Western Continent, as well as their respective cultivation.

With plenty of food and drink, Liuu Suyun stood up:

“I won’t disturb you longer since your schedule is quite full. Farewell.”

She greatly admired this junior brother’s consistent routine over the years, and now that everything was discussed, she didn’t want to delay him any longer.

Having frequent dealings, they both trusted each other’s character and didn’t need to sign an agreement.

She hesitated and said awkwardly:

“I still owe you nearly a hundred Great Merits; I don’t know when I can repay them.

How about exchanging them for something else, like a spiritual artifact?”

She felt uneasy owing favors.

“I will consider it.”

Ji An smiled. Once he breaks through to the late-stage Foundation Establishment, his magical power will be more abundant, and he can consider exchanging for an attack-type spiritual artifact.

Ji An took the bamboo joint handed to him by the maid and said with a smile:

“This is spirit wine fermented by a new method, a gift for Senior Sister to taste.”
