Rising from Small Cloud Rain Technique

Chapter 66: Chapter 64: Changing the Plan

Ji An saw the golden light pass through the face of the ape demon, emerging from the top of its skull.

He immediately activated the Stone Turtle Shield, controlling the magical artifact to charge at the incoming ape demon, a Water Curtain Talisman appearing in his hand, ready to be activated at any moment.

“Bang!”

The ape demon was knocked aside, landing heavily next to him, its body still twitching instinctively.

Ji An exhaled a breath of relief, thinking to himself that luckily the perfected Geng Metal Finger was powerful, otherwise, he would have been in danger.

Generally speaking, demon beasts at the Qi Refining Stage have only one talent technique, and this ape demon could release wood element spiritual energy to form spirit armor; he subconsciously thought this technique was its talent technique.

He never expected the ape demon to have a second technique. At the moment the vine entwining technique was initiated, his strong divine sense had already caught the formation of the technique, and his brain immediately instructed to dodge.

However, his body reacted half a beat slower and couldn’t dodge in time, getting tightly bound instead.

His reaction was too slow! Actually, if he had been mentally prepared, he could have dodged.

Ji An shook his head, in his previous life, he was an ordinary person, and this life was also quite ordinary.

The Stone Turtle he brought over during his transmigration gave him a higher starting point and more possibilities, but the idea of wanting to kill and conquer the world without first being tempered was too naive.

The only passing part of this battle was that when he realized he was already hit and couldn’t move, he released a magic technique that hit the ape demon’s head.

In an instant, he thought about many things.

On the road of cultivation, there are still many areas he needs to improve upon.

Returning to the moment the battle broke out, when Chen Moxuan saw the ape demon making a grappling gesture and Ji An didn’t dodge, he anxiously shouted:

’Dodge! Are you a pig?!’

Last night during the planning, he mentioned how the Cyan Wood Ape was adept at combat, with grappling being its killer move against small creatures.

For Qi Refining Stage disciples, the intensity of divine sense makes it difficult to control two magical artifacts simultaneously. Being too close, even if he used the Mountain and River Seal now, it would be hard to repel the demon beast, and not dodging would certainly not avoid the ape demon’s grappling.

Chen Moxuan couldn’t care to hide anymore, leaping out from his hiding spot, he shouted angrily: “Hey!”

He hoped to attract the ape demon’s attention, wishing he could save this newcomer.

Damn it, if you don’t die, hurry back to the sect and just farm well!

At this time, Chu River also dashed out and shouted:

“Run!”

He felt helpless inside, buddy, weren’t you quick-witted? How could you be so timid during a fight? Were you stunned by the ape demon’s roar?

He slightly regretted, knowing he should have found some weaker demon beasts for the other party to practice on first.

How can you join demon hunting with such reactions? You’re more likely to be demon prey!

A distance of a few dozen feet was very short. When Chen Moxuan and the others rushed over, they saw the ape demon lying on the ground twitching, a big question mark flashing in their minds.

Chu River glimpsed the blood hole at the top of the demon beast’s head, raising his hammer to step forward and smash the demon beast’s arm hard.

The dull boom was accompanied by the crisp sound of bone cracking, yet the demon beast still didn’t react.

He grabbed the head of the ape demon, saw the wound on the demon beast’s cheek, and took a deep breath.

Since when was the Geng Metal Finger so powerful?

It pierced through the protective spirit light of the ape demon, penetrated two layers of hard bone, and those thinner lower-grade magical artifacts would probably be pierced in one hit.

At this time, other team members gathered around, all seeing the wounds on the ape demon’s cheek and head.

The same thought flashed in their minds: ’Since when was the Geng Metal Finger so powerful?’

Shocked, Chen Moxuan slowly said:

“That was very dangerous earlier, Junior Brother, you should have dodged while simultaneously counterattacking with a magic technique.”

“I wanted to dodge, but I really didn’t expect this ape demon to have two talent techniques!”

Only then did Ji An feel the cold sweat on his back, pointing at the vine wrapped around his leg.

These vines were thumb-thick, very tough. If he were an independent cultivator, he might have escaped easily, but he couldn’t break free in a short time.

Only then did everyone notice his situation and immediately understood why he hadn’t dodged.

Tian Yulei felt a chill on his forehead; usually, he was responsible for luring demon beasts.

If it had been him today, caught off guard, his situation would probably be very dangerous.

He didn’t have a defensive magical artifact with no blind spots like three hundred and sixty degrees; if caught by the ape demon, he would definitely end up with broken bones and ruptured internal organs.

“The Senior Brother’s magic technique is exquisite and admirable.”

Tian Yulei sincerely spoke, not daring to maintain the senior brother’s demeanor, lowering his stance drastically. From a certain perspective, the other party had taken his place this time.

Chen Moxuan used the magic sword to cut the vine, saying gently:

“Junior Brother, you rest first. We’ll take care of the demon beast.”

Soon, the demon beast was dismembered, leaving only a pile of flesh on the ground.

Ji An finally regained his freedom, and as he lifted his pants, he saw his calf was purplish-blue.

He watched the team skillfully skin the beast and extract the ape demon’s heart essence blood. The scene was bloody and disgusting, but he forced himself to watch.

These are tasks he will need to do in the future as well.

Jiang Qiuyue took out a bag of medicinal powder and sprinkled it around, diluting the scent of blood in the air significantly.

“Let’s move to a different place.”

Chen Moxuan whispered, and the group quickly relocated.

“Junior Brother, what is the level of your Geng Metal Finger now?”

Jiang Qiuyue asked in a low voice, as being able to instantly kill a Qi Refining Stage eighth-layer demon beast with a spiritual energy shield was beyond her ability.

Others unconsciously held their breath, straining their ears to listen.

“Just before setting off for Mo Ya Mountain, I luckily practiced it to perfection.”

“A perfected Geng Metal Finger is this strong, if Senior Brother Ji’s magic technique hits the Ape King, it should inflict direct damage.

Boss, in this way, Senior Brother Ji’s plan to wipe out the ape demons might be feasible!”

Tian Yulei spoke excitedly, the demon beast group was problematic for cultivators because under the leader’s command, they would only end up besieged, struggling to defend, let alone attacking.

If they could kill the demon beast leader, the group would certainly fall into chaos. Before a new leader emerges, the group would be a heap of scattered sand.

Chen Moxuan turned back, grinning:

“That’s what I think too. Let’s leave first and re-discuss the plan.”

The most effective way to deal with social demon beasts is what? Of course, it’s a decapitation operation!

The Ape King would never be alone, only by swiftly bypassing its heavy protection and resolving the Ape King would it be considered successful.

If they fail to do so, they’d face the siege of numerous Cyan Wood Apes.

Previously, due to insufficient attack power to decide the battle with certainty, they could hardly achieve this.

But now, with Ji An having perfected magic techniques, hope emerged.

He carefully scrutinized the new team member again, pondering if the other might have a special constitution.

If one has no talent, it’s laborious to practice magic techniques to the level of great success, let alone perfection.

Among the Qi Refining Stage disciples he knows, only two people have honed attack techniques to perfection level, but the youngest of them is already forty years old.

A disciple who entered the sect for five years and is at most twenty-three years old has a perfected Geng Metal Technique, with limitless potential.
