Reborn at Boot Camp: General, Don’t Mess Around!

Chapter 5503: Chapter 5503: Guard

Ye Jian couldn’t accept that, ”Grandpa Xia, Grandma Xia are going, how can you not go?”

”That’s just to humor you two. At my age, going to the horse farm, I can’t ride, and I’d just be a burden on you kids to accompany me. I won’t enjoy it, so I won’t go, I won’t go.” Old Man Xia was skeptical; he knew the couple too well.

”If Grandpa Xia and Grandma Xia really go, then you must go too. Xia Yunyin’s horse farm is warm; there’s a chess room and a tea room. You can sit inside and watch us ride from the big French windows. Next door, there’s a pattern shooting range, also Xia Yunyin’s place; you could play there for a day.”

Other old masters might not be tempted, but the idea of seeing his granddaughter ride a horse was very exciting for him, so he asked, ”And the shooting range? Can I see that?”

”Yes, yes, yes.” Ye Jian hurriedly assured, ”You can see everything from inside.”

The old master was thoroughly convinced, ”Sounds like a nice place. That Xia family’s fifth brother is pretty capable, finding such a place. If the Xia couple goes, then grandpa will join them too.”

”But let me make it clear beforehand, you play your games, but please don’t just stay inside because grandpa is there, neglecting to play.”

”Okay, I’ll definitely not just stick around, I’ll make sure to have fun. Let me take you back to your room, and we can confirm tomorrow whether we’ll go or not.” Ye Jian, smiling, helped Old Man Xia back to his room. Seeing her happy made him happy too.

His granddaughter was so thoughtful!

After escorting Old Man Xia back to his room, and having finished washing up, Ye Jian lay in bed with no trace of sleepiness, her mind filled with Xia Jinyuan’s words about their engagement.

The thought always made her nervous; not that she was unwilling to confirm her relationship with Xia Jinyuan. Of course not, she was willing, and they had already met each other’s parents. It was really just a matter of having an engagement ceremony in front of both families and holding a wedding.

She understood very clearly that in this world, she couldn’t find anyone more suitable for her than Xia Jinyuan. Given a second chance at life, this man had become an inseparable part of her world, and she was well aware of his feelings for her.

From acquaintance to love, they had spent so many years together, and it was time to settle down, first getting engaged, then married; step by step, it was actually quite nice.

The Xia family was a hundred percent supportive; the only worry was her own family. Grandpa was easy to talk to, but her father would take some effort. However, Captain Xia said he’d handle it.

Alright, she would let him handle it first. If he couldn’t, she would step in. This would also show Captain Xia’s sincerity, letting her father see his true intention to be with her for a lifetime.

Thinking about it, Ye Jian’s heart settled again.

Her cellphone on the nightstand suddenly rang. Ye Jian immediately got up from the bed, grabbed the phone quickly.

It was a message from Xia Jinyuan, letting her know he had gotten home safely.

Ye Jian returned the message with a smile, ”Okay, get some rest early, see you tomorrow.” After replying, she hugged the phone and laughed, no different from any other girl with a crush.

Xia Jinyuan, who had just returned to the Xia family’s old residence, was also in a good mood replying, ”Hmm, see you tomorrow. Sweet dreams.”

”Tsk tsk tsk, seeing this, one can tell you had a fulfilling day.” Xia Yunyin, who had been waiting for him to return, approached with a smile, ”What do you think, isn’t the idea your fifth brother gave quite good?”
