Reborn As Noble

Chapter 1151: The Grace of a Single Knife ( 1151 )

Meanwhile.

Liana was in the kitchen.

The head chef and the entire kitchen crew, including sous chefs, line cooks, and kitchen helpers, watched as Liana carefully selected ingredients for her cooking.

The head chef smiled and exhaled softly. ”Miss Liana... are you sure you don’t need our help?”

Liana looked at him and shook her head gently. ”No... just like before, I’m going to cook something for our Prince Javier. You all can continue your work. I’ll be fine here.”

The head chef smiled and placed his palm over his left chest. ”If you say so, Miss Liana.”

”Mm...” Liana returned a faint smile, gestured toward a small, well-equipped workstation set aside for personal use. ”I’ll be using this small area here, if you don’t mind.”

”Don’t worry, Miss Liana. As usual, you’re welcome to use this space.” The head chef bowed slightly, his tone respectful. ”We’ll make sure you have everything you need.”

”Thank you,” Liana said with a faint smile, slowly checking the utensils she would use.

I wonder what I should cook for Young Master?

Liana smiled, humming softly to herself as she eyed the ingredients she had gathered and placed neatly on the nearby table.

I know Young Master loves meat. It’s always been meat since he was small. He doesn’t really like vegetables, except for a few types like carrots, tomatoes, things that are more fruit-like. But leafy greens? He won’t touch them at all.

Liana chuckled softly, a fond smile on her lips.

He always says weird things like, ”Am I a horse? A cow? A bull? Does a Pekko eat leaves?” Always with an excuse, anything to avoid eating them. He won’t even drink vegetable juice, no matter how well I blend it. Even when I pour that special sauce he loves so much over his roast meat or steak, if I drizzle it over vegetables, he won’t even look at them.

I guess I’ll just make an Elven specialty with fruits and cook his favorite meat meal~

Liana smiled, gracefully cutting the fruits into different shapes and arranging them with artful precision, all while humming a soft, melodic Elven tune.

The kitchen crew, along with the head chef, watched her from a distance.

Several new kitchen staff stared in awe, completely captivated.

”She’s beautiful...” one of them mumbled softly.

”Y... yeah... no wonder everyone says she’s special,” another whispered, their eyes fixed on her elegant movements.

”Prince Javier is so lucky...”

Meanwhile, the head chef and his assistant stood side by side, arms crossed, observing with professional appreciation.

”Look at how she cuts the fruit,” the assistant said quietly, admiration in his voice. ”So graceful, yet so precise.”

The head chef nodded. ”Not only that, but look at how she handles that knife. We need different types of knives for different ingredients, but she’s using just one for everything.”

The assistant nodded in agreement. ”True. And some of those fruits are difficult to open, require special preparation, but she handles them effortlessly with that same kitchen knife. Her skill is... something else.”

”Yeah. If only she were willing to teach me how to prepare those Elven special dishes,” the head chef smirked.

”Me too, chief. From what I’ve learned from the merchants, Elven specialty dishes are only prepared by those with a certain... natural talent for it.”

”That’s true. Ah~ I’d really love to see how she prepares it with our full set of kitchen knives, so we could learn something from it. But with her using just that one knife, I doubt we’ll learn much except seeing which ingredients she chooses.”

”Look at that, chief. I wonder why she needs that...” The assistant gestured toward a delicate arrangement of the cut fruit Liana was assembling.

”At least if we could learn the special sauce she makes, we could add it to the menu,” the chief smirked. ”But I guess it’s impossible. Even though we know all the ingredients, when we try to replicate it, it’s just not the same.”

”But at least, we’ve improved our cooking skills and earned high praise from our King ever since she first started cooking in the kitchen for Prince Javier.”

”Yeah... I still remember, years ago, when she cooked that meat meal. The first time we saw her make that special sauce...”

”Right? Since then, our cooking skills have really improved.”

”But you still can’t surpass me,” the chief crossed his arms and smirked, wiggling his eyebrows at his assistant.

”Ceh... soon, chief,” the assistant smirked back. ”I will surpass you, no matter what.”

”Ahaha... I’ve been hearing that for years, Assistant~”

”Damn.” The assistant shook his head, but before he could continue, Erisa rang the counter bell.

The head chef looked over. ”What is it, Erisa?”

”Mrs. Erinette mentioned to prepare a meal for the family.”

”Oh? Are they in His Majesty’s private office?”

”Yes.”

”Alright. Just the family?”

”Ah, no. General Hesbeirn, Gilmon, and Rasdingen will also be there, along with the entire Armand family, except Athine.”

”Alright.” The head chef turned back toward the kitchen crew, tilting his head in confusion as he noticed they were all still watching Liana cook.

Did they also get mesmerized by how skilled she is?

The head chef looked at his assistant and smiled. ”Looks like our kitchen crew will improve their skills, too, with Liana here. Inspiration is a powerful thing.”

”True,” the assistant replied. ”If only she could cook like this at least once a week, it’d boost everyone’s motivation and skill level even more.”

The head chef clapped his hands sharply. ”Alright, crew! Back to work! The Armand family is in a meeting, and as usual, we prepare the best food for them!”

”Yes, chief!”

He began directing with practiced authority. ”You two, start on the soup base, I want that broth simmering in twenty minutes. You, on the grill, prep the premium cuts, medium-rare preference unless specified otherwise. Pastry team, get those desserts started, and I want the plating to be flawless today. Vegetable station, wash and chop, and make sure everything is fresh. Move with purpose, people! Let’s show them why Armand’s kitchen is the best in the nation!”

He crossed his arms, his face turning deadly serious as he scanned the room.

”And don’t even think about putting any poison in Our Respectable King’s family food! Or else I will personally cut off your head and put it in the broth..as monster food!”
