Reborn As Noble

Chapter 940: Creation & Destruction ( 940 )

The next morning.

Javier woke before dawn, eyes still heavy with sleep.

As usual, all his girls were gathered around him on the bed.

Inside his mind.

Hmm… Since Liana and I have already crossed that line, I wonder if I can finally be with Gloria next? She’s been waiting patiently since Arjam… but with everything happening this week, Father’s wedding with Queen Mylezra, his coronation, and all the foreign guests arriving, I doubt I’ll have much time for private moments.

He leaned in, pressing a gentle kiss to Liana’s forehead, then to Gloria’s. He stroked Felicia’s and Mimi’s tails, careful and affectionate, before reaching over to softly touch Delya’s horn.

Sometimes I think I really am the luckiest ikemen in this world. Reborn into the Armand family, surrounded by such beautiful future wives… Ehehehe. What more could I ask for?

But then a shadow crossed his mind.

Still… it’s strange. I tried contacting Ferine, but even Gumarak says he doesn’t know why she’s so busy or why she won’t talk to me.

Is it my fault? Maybe I didn’t reach out enough?

But I message her once a day, and I even told her I could come anytime, using the transport drone, I could pick her up in a flash.

Javier sighed quietly, not wanting to wake the others, and stared up at the ceiling.

Maybe… today, after the demonstration, I should make another attempt. Or… maybe she’s hiding something from me?

Hmm… whatever.

Javier slowly slid out of bed, careful not to disturb the sleeping girls. He stretched his arms over his head and glanced around.

Maybe I’ll hit the shower… or check the main kitchen to see what’s for breakfast today. I don’t want to burden Liana and Gloria too much since they always wake up early just to make breakfast for me.

Maybe I should try something different this morning. I do love meat, of course. Grilled, steak, or a hearty soup. But honestly, I can’t remember the last time I ate breakfast at the main dining hall with the whole family… Been too long, huh?

He let out a yawn, rubbing his hair, and padded over to the door. He opened it quietly.

“Javier.”

“Eeekkk!” Javier nearly jumped out of his skin. Standing right outside was Garius, arms folded behind, looking as imposing as ever.

“Ah… esteemed father.” Javier forced a sheepish grin, eyes darting anywhere but his father’s face.

“You’re already awake. Good. Now—follow me,” Garius said, his tone leaving no room for argument.

“Errr… where are we going, esteemed father?”

“Don’t ask. Just follow.”

Javier gulped, nodded, and stepped into the hallway, trailing after his father.

What is this about?

And why so early?

And… why aren’t Alf or Erinnette following today?

Father’s acting… strange.

“Javier.”

“Y-yes, esteemed father?”

Garius didn’t break stride. “Remember when you asked me about the Power of Destruction user and the Hand of Creation user?”

Javier’s expression sharpened instantly, his body tense. “Yes, esteemed father.”

“Remember I told you not to worry about it?”

“Yes…” Javier grit his teeth, unease growing in his chest.

Does this mean those two users are a real threat now? Is that why Father’s suddenly bringing this up again?

Garius paused in the corridor, turning to face his son, eyes piercing. “Your mother and I do know who the users of those two powers are.”

Javier’s breath caught. “Does that mean… they’re uncontrollable? Or that they pose a threat to us?” he asked quietly.

Garius studied him for a moment. “That’s what I want to find out.”

Javier kept following Garius down the corridor and out into the estate’s training area.

He stopped short at the sight before him: his mother, Francesca, already seated at a table nearby with several of her personal maids, and a group of masked maids clustered discreetly around her.

Who are they? Javier wondered, eyes narrowing. Are these new units? Or did I just never notice them before? Wait… could they be the mysterious elite maid corps I’ve only heard rumors about?

A movement caught his eye.

Alf fully dressed in his butler uniform, approached from the far side. Trailing just behind him was the Masked Shadow Unit leader, someone Javier recognized immediately, even though he’d never seen their face.

He glanced around, feeling the weight of the scene. Why in the world is every elite Armand unit here?

And why is everyone in their best enchanted gear—especially Alf and Erinnette, in full gear, armed and ready?

Across the field, Hesbeirn strode up, clad in his finest armor, his massive greatsword strapped across his back. Even Erisa, always composed, wore her full battle maid outfit, every buckle and blade in place.

Does this mean… the two users really pose a serious threat to us? Or is there something even bigger going on?

Javier looked around, taking in the sight of so many top-tier personnel, all in battle readiness.

This has never happened before. I only saw preparations like this during the First Coalition War, and again when we fought the assassin group from the Klimbert household. But now…

He glanced across the training ground. Garius was speaking quietly with Francesca, who caught Javier’s eye and gave him a reassuring wave and a gentle smile. Garius finished his brief exchange, then strode forward, stopping a short distance from Javier, facing him squarely.

Javier swallowed, forcing himself to speak up. “Father… what’s this about? Why is everyone here?”

Garius simply regarded him with that same calm, unreadable expression.

Javier tried again, his voice more urgent. “Esteemed father, pardon me, but do the two users of these ancient powers… really pose that much of a threat to Armand?”

Garius’s eyes narrowed slightly as he studied Javier. The silence stretched for a long moment before he spoke.

“Now, Javier… I want to ask you something, and I expect you to answer honestly.”

“Yes, esteemed father,” Javier replied, standing straight.

Garius held his gaze. “Why do you want to know about the Power of Destruction user and the Hand of Creation user?”
