Reborn As Noble

Chapter 585: Beauty in Battle ( 585 )

Liana turned back once more, her steps light, her expression gentle—yet her words sharp as a sword hidden in silk.

“Well, Princess… if we’re talking about promises…”

She smiled sweetly, tucking a loose strand of silver hair behind her ear.

“Let’s just say… he made promises to me and her”—Liana tilted her head slightly toward Gloria—”long before he made any to you.”

She placed her hand on her waist and leaned her body forward.

Her perfect figure, flawless curves, slim waist, and elegant maid uniform that fit just right—every movement radiated feminine grace and strength.

“If it’s just a kiss,” she softly added, her voice like honey, “well… for us…”

She paused, mockingly resting her fingers on her lips.

“…it’s just our daily routine with him.”

Felicia’s eyes twitched.

Gloria stepped up beside Liana, lightly brushing nonexistent dust off her skirt. Her voice was light and teasing.

“Sleeping together? Yes~”

Liana nodded calmly, “Cooking for him… feeding him…”

Another gentle smile.

“Let’s just say… our young master needs us more than…”

She looked slowly and gracefully from Felicia’s head to her feet.

“…well, more than most.”

There was a moment of silence.

Then Felicia’s lips curled into a proud, elegant smile. Calm. Regal.

A princess’s smile—well-trained and polished.

“Well,” she said softly, brushing her long silver hair over her shoulder, “I think he also has a fondness for tails…”

With a gentle turn, Felicia moved slightly so her plush, soft tail swayed into view. It was full and elegant.

“…and ears like these.” She flicked her ear gently.

Her figure was perfect. Her posture perfect. Her presence dignified. She might have lost in breast size, but she stood her ground in every other way.

Felicia’s smile flickered for a brief moment, but she quickly regained her composure.

“At least,” she said softly, “he married a princess. How lucky he is… to have me.” Her golden eyes shimmered, and her smile was calm and steady.

Liana didn’t waver. Her gaze was peaceful, and her tone was sweet and light.

“Hmmm…” She tilted her head slightly, examining Felicia as if inspecting a fine piece of cloth. “Our young master isn’t someone who cares about titles or rank. For him… rank doesn’t matter at all.”

Liana’s hand moved gently to her lips, and she let out a breathy laugh. “And he’s not really~ the type who enjoys a lot of paperwork either. So~ being royalty doesn’t exactly make things easier for him.”

Felicia’s smile faded, her eyes sharpening with a cold glint.

“…He also prefers someone who can protect themselves,” Liana said calmly, but with a hint of sharpness beneath her elegance.

Felicia’s ears twitched. “Are you saying I can’t protect myself?” Her voice stayed polite, but the bite was unmistakable. Her golden eyes locked onto Liana like a drawn blade.

Liana didn’t blink. She just smiled softly.

“Who knooow~?” she answered gently, twirling a strand of her silvery hair.

The tense atmosphere grew thicker.

Gloria, standing beside them, chuckled quietly and whispered, “Ara… this is getting interesting~”

Felicia’s tail flicked once behind her dress—quiet, controlled, but hinting at the fire simmering just beneath her surface.

Felicia’s eyes shone with a dangerous calm as she slowly drew her twin swords, their shiny silver edges catching the sunlight like sharp fangs.

“How about you and me… have a duel~?” she said with a graceful smile—poised, elegant, but sharp enough to cut deep.

Liana blinked once. Then her lips curved into a smile.

“Hmm~ Are you serious?” she replied, her tone light and teasing, but with a sharp glint in her emerald eyes. She gently reached behind her and loosened the strap of her bow.

Felicia expertly twirled one of her swords. “Yes~ Let’s see if your words match your strength.”

“Well~” Liana’s expression stayed calm, but her fingers already moved toward the hilt of a small white ore blade at her waist. “Don’t regret it~”

“P-Princess! You can’t—!” one of the nearby beastkin knights stammered, stepping forward nervously.

But Felicia turned her head sharply toward them, her golden eyes flashing.

“All of you,” she said coldly, her voice steady but firm as steel. “Step back.”

The group—knights, warriors, officers, even the royal advisor—stopped in their tracks. No one dared to interrupt.

Her voice wasn’t loud.

But it carried the absolute authority of someone born to lead and trained to command.

Slowly, hesitantly, the soldiers moved back, creating an open space between the two women. The lively energy of the palace courtyard faded into tense silence.

Liana gracefully stepped forward, drawing one of her blades. Its surface, made of white ore, shimmered with faint magical runes. Her other hand reached behind her and unhooked the matching second blade from her belt.

Two beautiful women.

One was a noble elf maid, trained in the finest combat techniques of the Armand region.

The other was a proud princess of the Beastkin Kingdom, prepared for both war and royalty.

Their eyes met—neither willing to back down.

“You know,” Liana said casually, I don’t care if you’re a princess of this kingdom. Let me tell you in advance~ I don’t hold back for someone who’s going to join our young master’s harem. I’ll make sure I don’t hold back, because it’s my duty… as the first wife candidate~.”

Felicia’s golden eyes narrowed sharply, a twitch forming at the corner of her brow.

“Haa?! How dare you call yourself a first wife candidate, pointy-ear!” she snapped.

Liana let out a soft laugh, brushing a strand of silver hair behind her ear with graceful confidence. Her twin white ore blades shimmered in her hands, matching her confident expression.

“Oh? This stray cat can talk back?” she said sweetly. “I thought she could only purr~.”

A visible vein bulged on Felicia’s forehead, but her smile stayed steady.

“Stray cat, you say? I’ll have you know this ‘stray’ is royalty. And he kissed me. Promised me. That makes me his fiancée.”

Liana tilted her head slightly, a smirk on her face and her eyes half-lidded.

“Mmm~ How adorable. A kiss and a few sweet words, and you’re already wagging your tail?”

“Why you—!”

Felicia dashed forward, her twin swords flashing as they caught the sunlight.

But Liana was already moving. Elegant and poised, her white ore blades met Felicia’s with a loud clang, the impact creating a gust of wind.

Sparks flew as steel clashed with steel.

The knights watching from afar gulped.

So fast.

So graceful.

It wasn’t a fight—more like watching two deadly dancers perform a fierce battle.

Liana spun in the air, her blades slicing with incredible speed, but Felicia slid low and countered with a rising arc.

Clang!

Slash!

Whirl!

“You’re not bad, Your Highness~” Liana teased mid-spin. “But you’ll need more than that to stand beside our Javier.”

“Our!?” Felicia growled. “He’s marrying me! You’re just a fancy maid!”

“Oh, my~ You’re mistaken. I’m his maid, yes—but I raised him, protected him, kissed him good morning every single day.” Liana’s voice sharpened. “Can you do that, princess?”

Gloria stood to the side, sipping from a juice box. “Ara~ Things are heating up~ Should I stop them?”

The beastkin guards looked horrified.

The catgirl princess and the elven maid… fighting over one man.

But no one stepped in.

Because deep down… they knew.

This wasn’t just a fight.

It was a clash of pride between women—one calm and refined, the other fiery and regal.

And neither of them was willing to lose.
