Reborn As Noble

Javier slowly stirred, his eyes fluttering open as a familiar face came into view.

Mother?

No... wait. She’s not Mother.

She has the same face, but her hairstyle is slightly different, and her voice carries a different tone.

His gaze drifted downward, landing on her chest.

Gulp... at least F cup.

He snapped his head away, shaking it vigorously.

No, no, no, no... stop looking at her breast, Javier. She might have the size of a melon, but according to her, Mother is her little sister, and that guy over there is Mother’s little brother. That makes them my aunt and my uncle.

”Ah~ I’m glad you’re awake, cutie pie~” Fayrene smiled softly, her expression gentle and relieved.

Javier let out a soft groan, rubbing his temples as he sat up.

Sigh... she also calls me by a nickname, just like Mother does. The difference is... Mother calls me ”honey bun,” and she calls me ”cutie pie.”

He glanced around, taking in the ethereal surroundings once more, before turning his gaze to Fayrene and then to Harran, who was now sitting nearby on a luminous chair, floating chair.

”W... where am I? And why am I here?”

Fayrene smiled gently, her gaze soft as she looked at him.

”This is a place where mortals never have a chance to step foot while still alive, cutie pie. A realm beyond the reach of the living world.”

Harran nodded, his voice calm and steady. ”And the reason you’re here is simple. We wanted to see our sister’s son.”

Javier narrowed his eyes, leaning back slightly as he rested his hands on the soft ground behind him.

”If this place is somewhere mortals can’t reach while alive, how did I get here?”

Harran chuckled softly, crossing his legs. ”Because we’re the ones who brought you here. And you’re Fransesca’s son. That means you’ve inherited a trace of her blood, a fragment of her essence. That’s why you could step into this realm.”

Javier’s brow furrowed. ”Huh? What do you mean?”

Fayrene tilted her head, her expression turning curious.

”Hmm? You didn’t know? Fransesca didn’t tell you anything?”

Javier sat up properly, rubbing his chin as he tried to recall.

”Hmm... I don’t think Mother ever told me anything about her family or her past. She never mentioned having a brother or a sister.”

Fayrene smiled softly, glancing at Harran, who simply shook his head with a knowing smile. Fayrene turned her gaze back to Javier, her voice gentle.

”Perhaps showing you is better than explaining, cutie pie.”

She gracefully settled into a kneeling position, her posture elegant and serene. She placed both hands on her lap, her fingers interlaced. A soft, radiant light began to emanate from behind her.

Two pairs of luminous wings unfolded from her back, each feather shimmering with a soft, ethereal glow, radiating a gentle, divine light that fill the entire clearing. The wings were vast, each one glowing with a pure, golden-white light, and as they spread, the air hummed with a soft, resonant energy.

Harran stood, and a similar set of wings unfurled from his back, broader and more powerful, glowing with a deep, silvery light edged in brilliant gold, carrying an aura of quiet strength and ancient wisdom.

Javier’s eyes widened, his mouth falling slightly open in stunned disbelief as he stared at the two beings before him.

”Eehhhh!!? You mean Mother was a goddess?!”

Fayrene and Harran glanced at each other before letting out a soft, harmonious laugh.

”Yes, cutie pie. She is.”

Javier shot to his feet, pointing an accusing finger at them, his eyes narrow with suspicion.

”No, no, no! I still don’t believe you two. This might just be an illusion or a dream. I’ve dealt with enough tricks to know when something feels off.”

Fayrene’s smile remained gentle, her voice calm. ”This is real. You know it is. Deep down, you can feel it.”

”Nope. I still won’t believe it.” Javier crossed his arms, his glare unwavering. ”If Mother is really a goddess, there’s no way she could have married a normal human. Goddesses don’t just marry mortals. There are rules, boundaries, laws that prevent that kind of union.”

Harran chuckled softly, shaking his head. ”There’s one more thing you don’t know, little one.”

Javier tilted his head, one hand on his hip, looking away dismissively as he raised a finger.

”Stop trying to trick me. I’m sure this is just a dream. I’ll wake up any moment now, and you two will be gone.”

Harran’s smile widened, his voice carrying a hint of amusement.

”Your father, Garius... is not a normal human. He is the First Chosen Hero of this world. The only mortal ever blessed directly by the Upper Realm. And that is why Fransesca was allowed to marry him.”

Javier gripped his head with both hands, squatting down as he scratched his scalp in frustration.

”Giihh!! Stop feeding lies to me! Ugh! I don’t want to accept that my father was some ’chosen hero’ and my mother was a goddess. Nope... that’s not real. I refuse to believe it!”

Fayrene smiled softly, her voice gentle but firm.

”No matter how hard you try to reject it, cutie pie, the truth remains the truth. Denying it won’t change what is.”

Javier shook his head vigorously, pressing both hands over his ears.

”Not hearing! Not hearing! Lalala~ I’m not listening!”

Fayrene exhaled softly, glancing up at Harran. ”He’s harder to convince than I thought. Even after showing him the proof.”

Harran laughed softly, a teasing glint in his eyes. ”Oh, he knows it’s the truth. He just doesn’t want to accept it.”

”Giihhhhh!” Javier rushed forward, grabbing Harran by the collar and shaking him vigorously.

”Don’t pull me back to reality! Let me live in my peaceful, normal, non-goddess-family delusion! I was happy thinking I was just a regular noble’s son with a slightly overprotective, overdoting mother and a father who was just really good at fighting! Why do you have to ruin that!?”

Harran laughed sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head as Javier released him and turned away, squatting back down with his head in his hands, letting out exaggerated, fake sobs.

”Sob, sob... Now my dream is ruined...”

Fayrene smiled warmly at Harran, then turned her gaze to Javier, who was still gripping his head in frustration.

”Even though I had a hunch about them...” Javier mumbled under his breath, his voice tinged with complaint. ”I always knew something was off. No matter how hard I tried, even with the Hand of Creation and the Power of Destruction talents, I could never defeat them in a real fight...”

He lifted his head, glaring at both of them.

”Why couldn’t you both just let me dream a little longer? I was perfectly content believing they were just really, really good at what they do!”
