Reborn As Noble

In the warm, cozy maid’s dining room of the Armand Region, the scent of freshly baked bread and herb-infused soup filled the air, creating an inviting atmosphere. A long, polished wooden table stretched across the center, surrounded by quiet maids chatting softly as they ate.

At the far end of the table sat two figures that no one dared approach unless they were invited: Liana and Gloria.

Liana delicately scooped soup into her spoon, her silver hair tied back neatly in a tail. Her eyes stayed lowered, peaceful and serene, as always. Beside her, Gloria adjusted her glasses and cut a small piece of roast, her expression composed and calm.

It was an ordinary, peaceful moment—until something disrupted it.

Liana’s spoon suddenly froze mid-air.

A faint tremor ran along her neck. Her elegant fingers twitched, and her ordinarily calm eyes narrowed sharply, sensing something is wrong.

Gloria noticed immediately.

“…Liana?” she asked softly, not looking up from her plate.

“Yes?”

Gloria finally lifted her gaze, concern flickering behind her glasses. “What’s wrong?”

Liana gently set her spoon down. Her voice was quiet but tense. “…I don’t feel good.”

Gloria’s posture stiffened. “Hmm?”

Liana took a breath, eyes gleaming faintly with a sharp light, like the gleam of a blade catching the sun.

“I think… Young Master might be meeting another woman.”

Gloria’s chair creaked as she straightened abruptly. Her calm expression vanished, replaced by a sharp, serious look. She turned fully toward Liana, eyes intense behind her glasses.

“Are you sure… First Wife?” she asked in a cold, flat tone.

Liana looked out the window, her lips pressed into a firm line, silently confirming her suspicion.

“Maybe it’s… maybe it’s just a feeling,” Liana murmured softly, her shoulders relaxing as she let out a long, calming sigh.

Gloria blinked slowly, then gave a small nod. Her fingers gently brushed the rim of her teacup before she resumed her meal with graceful ease, slicing her roast into elegant pieces.

“…Since today Lord Garius asked us to rest from training,” Gloria spoke again, her tone casual, as if the recent shadow of divine war and harem expansion hadn’t just cast darkness over them, “what do you think we should do after this?”

Liana leaned back slightly, tapping her chin thoughtfully. “I don’t know. Maybe feed our Pekko. Pikko and Peanut first.”

“Yeah…” Gloria’s eyes softened, and she offered a rare, gentle smile.

Liana reached for some fruit salad. “…Do you think we’re being too possessive?”

“No,” Gloria replied instantly.

Liana turned her head slightly, a knowing smile curling her lips. “Are you sure, Second Wife?”

Gloria tilted her head, her warm, teasing expression undeniable. “Ara~ First Wife, why would you say that?”

Liana carefully placed her fork down, still smiling. “I know you sniffed Young Master’s shirt—the one we got from him before.”

Gloria didn’t flinch. Instead, she lifted her teacup slowly, letting the porcelain touch her lips before answering sweetly.

“Ara~ aren’t you the same? Hmm?”

Liana let out a soft chuckle, not denying it.

Their eyes met across the table, and for a fleeting moment, the dining room was filled with a quiet, warm feeling.

Both smiled.

It was more than just love for Javier. It was friendship, silent understanding, and a dangerous bond—fearless in their shared promise to protect what they considered “theirs.”

“So…” Liana began, her voice light as she picked up a slice of bread, “where are those two princesses who claim Young Master is their husband?”

Gloria didn’t look up. “Don’t know. Don’t care,” she said flatly, dabbling her mouth with a napkin. “Maybe training their new wild Pekko.”

“Mm.” Liana took a bite, chewing thoughtfully. “They’re lucky.”

Gloria raised an eyebrow slightly. “Lucky?”

“That Lord Garius accepted them as wife candidates,” Liana replied, setting her bread down with quiet precision. “Third and fourth… for Young Master.”

Gloria let out a soft exhale, more like a scoff dressed as a sigh.

Liana smiled again, calm as a pond hiding a deep current. “Still… I admire their optimism.”

“Ara~ naïve optimism is a strong shield,” Gloria said, resting her cheek on her palm, elbow on the table. “They’ll need it when the war begins.”

“Which one?” Liana asked, sipping her tea.

Gloria’s eyes gleamed behind her glasses. “The one between us and them.”

“I’m sure we’ll win anyway,” Liana said softly, her calm smile steady and unwavering.

“Oh~? And how can you be so sure, First Wife?” Gloria asked sweetly, adjusting her glasses with a playful glint in her eyes.

Liana tilted her head gently, her eyes sparkling with mischief. “Well… you already know.”

Gloria blinked slowly, then let out a soft laugh behind her hand. “Ara~ Is it perhaps because of our… assets?”

Liana said nothing, only calmly lifting her cup to her lips, a quiet yet confident smile lingering on her face. Her silence said everything.

Gloria leaned forward slightly, her voice dropping to a whisper only Liana could hear clearly. “But we should be careful, First Wife~ If we tease those two princesses too much, they’ll cry again.”

Liana shrugged elegantly, her serene expression unchanged. “A little motivation never hurt anyone.”

Both exchanged knowing looks, recalling vividly how Mimi and Delya had reacted back then. Very clearly.

They quietly continued their meal, confident smiles never leaving their faces. After all, victory wasn’t just about strength, but also charm—and they had plenty of both.

“And besides…” Liana murmured, dabbing the corner of her lips with a napkin, “I’m sure… our beloved Young Master will never forget about us.”

Her soft, confident smile made her meaning clear.

Gloria nodded slowly, her eyes half-lidded with a rare, dreamy expression.

“Yes~… I know…”

They both sat quietly for a moment, basking in their shared belief.

“Well…” Liana continued after a beat, placing her hands neatly on her lap, “let’s hope we finish our training quickly. So we can be with Young Master again… and protect him from other girls.”

“I think four is enough already,” Gloria said, lips forming a faint pout.

“Let’s hope he doesn’t find a fifth,” Liana added, her smile tight.

“That…” Gloria sighed dramatically, “can’t be sure. Since our Young Master, despite not being fully grown, already has that handsome face, that gentle smile… and that tall body that’s charmed most of the maids here.”

They both exhaled slowly.

Then, at the same time:

“…We need to finish this training faster.”
