Reborn as an Extra

Chapter 433: The Duel of Time and Existence... Part-5.

*Cough**Cough!*

Jin coughed several mouthfuls of blood, yet his stance didn’t show a single sign of weakening.

’Feels like sh*t... nearly all internal organs are already damaged, and I can barely even stand anymore... Just like Rio said, the cost for forcefully letting a legendary skill inside you is indeed very high...’

’How does that kid even know something like that... He himself has never gone through all this, yet he knows about it... quite strange...’

’What will happen next? What shall I do next? How do I deal with this next?’

Tons of questions were lingering in Jin’s mind in that moment; his mind was filled with doubt and anxiety.

His entire life started to flash in front of him; he knew he was already just a few inches away from the cold embrace of ’Death’.

”A partial manifestation!? Are you serious right now!? What exactly are you trying to do, Jin Walt!?”

”Didn’t you say you had a wife to return to back home!? Then why are you gambling your life like this? You are basically trading with the ’Law’ of ’Death’ right now...”

”Not even demons dare to do that! Have you lost your mind!?”

A look of shock appeared on Alverto’s face as he questioned Jin’s motives.

As a demon, he is well acquainted with the influence of the ’Law’ of ’Death,’ as it is always ready to trade with anyone and everyone.

Death in this world is basically an influence of the ’law’ of ’Death,’ which is one of the most powerful ’laws’ of the world.

But in some rare cases, some people willingly sacrifice their own life and potential to ’trade’ with the ’law’ of ’death.’.

Jin had done exactly that.

In order to destroy his own enemy, Jin sacrificed his potential to the ’law’ of ’death’; even if he somehow survives and lives after this battle, he will still be just a cripple.

He will never be able to exert his full strength as an SS-ranker, and he will likely also lose his ’Authority.’.

He will revert to an S-ranker or even lower; his lifespan will also decrease quite a bit.

This is basically ’killing’ half of yourself and sacrificing it to gain a temporary boost.

”No wonder the ’Spire of Ascension’ brought you here, Jin Walt! May it be only a partial manifestation, you are capable of manifesting the ’law’ of ’Time’...”

”Now I understand why I got ’Soul Resonance’ and not ’Shard of Chronos,’ despite having such a high affinity for time magic...”

”It’s because you are an obstacle in between; as long as you exist, I cannot have the legendary skill ’Shard of Chronos’... I understand it all now...”

”Well, whatever, I will deal with you completely as of today, and then I will seize the legendary skill by force...”

*BOOOM!*

Seeing that Jin had already entered a trance-like state and was already losing consciousness, Alverto immediately clenched his spear and launched towards Jin with insane momentum.

”Although I didn’t want to do this, you have forced my hand... I guess your wife will become a widow after all!”

[Soul Resonance!]

Alverto covered his entire soul and existence in the power of the legendary skill and increased his own power by several times.

’The soul trance attack won’t work on him anymore as he also has a legendary skill now, but that’s not all I have in my arsenal...’

[Berserker Style Spear Art: Soul and Null!]

Using the power of his soul resonance in sync with the connection he had with the Spire of Ascension, Alverto’s strength reached immense heights in that instant.

His attack was now equal to a peak SS ranker. It had enough force to instantly obliterate Jin’s body and turn it into dust.

Yet, despite such a powerful attack being launched at him, Jin remained unfazed.𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

The memories of him pestering Anna for years and finally getting her to love him back came to his mind, and a smile appeared on his face.

’Well, it wasn’t that bad a life... the only regret will be that I couldn’t marry her in the end... This is my destiny, I guess...’

[Shard of Chronos!]

’Despite having the legendary skill that can control time itself, my body doesn’t have enough time left to live. How contradicting...’

’Moreover, in my current state, I can at most do just one attack and then the partial manifestation will leave my body...’

Seeing his imminent death staring at his face, Jin wasn’t scared at all, but there was one thing that was making him concerned.

He spent years trying to please Anna and make her agree to marry him; it would all just go to waste now; thus, he didn’t want to die.

’Forgive me, Anna...’

[Absolute Tranquility: Threads of Intervention: Death and Beyond!]

Jin already knew that he could not kill Alverto; even if he tried his best, he knew that no matter how hard he tried, the result was going to be the same.

His death was imminent.

But he also knew that Rio and the others were in the spire of ascension too; he wasn’t fighting this battle alone; thus, he put his hope on those who would come over to fight after him.

He can’t stop a fierce beast like Alverto on his own, but he can at least cut off a few wings to make the beast weaker for the next challenger.

The reason why Jin was at such a heavy disadvantage from the start of the battle was because Alverto had the support of the Spire of Ascension on his side.

Jin thrust his sword forward, and his sword disappeared as if it never existed in the first place.

The time elements of the entire spire of ascension suddenly came to an unusual halt.

Using his legendary skill ’Shard of Chronos,’ Jin sealed the Spire of Ascension in a temporary time barrier; this caused the entire Spire of Ascension to become frozen in time itself.

In this state, the spire of Asension can only exist in its current form, and it can’t be used to do anything else.

It can be destroyed or broken, but it cannot be used to accomplish whatever Alverto was trying to do.

Jin literally stopped the flow of the river of time temporarily for the spire of Ascension.

(Ashtel and Neo’s attacks were still able to destroy the spire of ascension despite being in this frozen state because their powers in the final attacks were too powerful for Jin’s final move...)

*booom!*

The moment Jin used his sword to hinder the flow of time, Alverto lost his status as an SS-ranker, and his attack became extremely weak and reverted to that of a Peak S ranker.

But Alverto didn’t stop; his spear directly pierced Jin’s chest and opened a massive hole in his chest, causing his body to fly away!

”Tch, how troublesome... With this, the clear-heart duel has come to an end... You were a strong enemy, Jin Walt...”

”You have proved why the Spire of Ascension saw you as a great threat; even in death, you still ended up accomplishing your goal...”

Alverto clenched his fist and put it on his chest to give a military salute.

”Rest assured, O Warrior of Legend, All Shall praise your bravery...”

’I am sure your wife will also be very proud of you... Jin walt...’

Alverto shook his head and stood there in silence for a bit, and a frown appeared on his face under the helmet all of a sudden.

’Hmm? Where did his body go?’

Alverto was busy putting an end to the clear heart duel, so he was distracted for a few seconds and didn’t notice that Jin’s body suddenly disappeared.

[Soul Resonance]

[Secret Art: Soul Domain!]

Using the soul domain, Alverto spread his consciousness far and wide and immediately figured out what had happened.

’Hoh... Now that’s kind of interesting, a short-range teleportation technique? No, it’s some other kind of skill... well, whatever...’

Alverto raised his head towards the floor right above, and a smirk appeared on his face.

”So you are finally here, my next challengers...”

...

A few seconds ago.

On the floor right above.

”Are you sure this method will work?”

Lia had a confused look on her face; she had sensed that something bad would happen to Jin in the next few seconds with her prediction abilities.

She told Riya about it, who was standing right beside her.

The two of them had been searching for the user of soul-related skills for quite a while now.

As they reached this floor, Riya immediately sensed Jin and Alverto’s life force emanating from below.

Thus, they formulated a plan to save Jin; Riya used her ’Healing Domain’ at full capacity and increased its range to the limit.

She expanded it to the point that its range reached down to the lower floor.

Lia, on the other hand, predicted where Jin’s injured and unconscious body would fall down in the next few seconds.

The very moment Jin fell into Riya’s healing domain’s range according to the exact spot predicted by Lia, Riya immediately teleported him to the upper floor.

[Astral Form: Overload: Unlimited Heal!]

Riya poured an immense amount of healing magic into Jin’s injured body; her precise and timely healing barely stopped the depletion of Jin’s life force for the moment.

”I won’t let this happen again! I am not the same weak healer anymore!! This time for sure! I will be the one to win!!”

A look of extreme determination appeared on Riya’s face.

Last time Zach died in her arms, and her healing magic was powerless against miasma and corruption, but this time she has come prepared.

She won’t allow herself to lose to Alverto again.
