Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 642: Chapter 450: Machoke in Disguise

Throw the Dottler into the water to learn swimming.

In Baimu’s view, this operation is quite similar to that of Xiao Ming’s Sandshrew rushing into the water during the early days of the anime.

A normal person would definitely not have such an idea, but Naihe, superpower users are not normal people!

Because they have a unique method of training their superpowers.

[You know very well that the body is the foundation for effective growth of superpowers, and the results of diligent exercise over the years have not disappointed you. You’ve gone from not being able to bend a spoon to now twisting it into a pretzel, all thanks to—muscles.]

What kind of miraculous muscle brings superpowers.

Baimu agrees with the notion that the body is the foundation of everything but finds it difficult to equate muscles with superpowers.

The physical body and the mind are interconnected but starkly different, belonging to two distinct realms.

However.

Superpower users must have some results based on this idea they’ve put into practice.

Unfortunately, the simulator does not describe in detail the scenes of superpower users training their superpowers; it simply shows him moving stones and other heavy objects with superpowers after general physical training.

This gives Baimu the illusion that this guy built muscle and somehow ran his superpowers strong.

Yet, he knows the real situation is certainly not like this.

Superpower users are not some bald superhero.

If it weren’t for the previous use of superpowers to twist spoons and attack Dottler, with special effects for distinction provided by the simulator, Baimu might have thought the spoon was twisted by hand, and Dottler was punched unconscious at lightning speed.

Strangely enough, Dottler doesn’t seem to mind being thrown into the water, as the footage showing it accelerate later indicates it’s even voluntarily entering the water.

Baimu notices this, understanding it relates to the superpower user and other Pokémon companions entering the water; if the superpower user were to stand on the bank watching, Dottler would likely be less willing.

Of course, Dottler’s method of swimming isn’t by paddling its pitiful pincers; it’s by using Reflective Wall to create a surfboard-like object to lift itself and avoid getting wet, then using Telekinesis to propel itself forward.

Therefore, rather than calling it swimming, surfing might be more accurate.

And these are swimming methods taught by the superpower user, relayed to Baimu through narration and visuals, leaving the latter feeling enlightened.

—You can do that too!

Indeed, superpower users have some tricks up their sleeves.

Just that...

Starmie and Slowking aside, why is Hypno so skilled at swimming?

Baimu can’t understand why Hypno, not focusing on Hypnosis Techniques, is so proficient in swimming; it’s genuinely swimming with arms and legs like the superpower user.

People unaware might think it’s Phelps reborn, it wouldn’t be far off to call it the ”Yellow Flash” in the waves.

As Baimu stared at the screen, he once thought if the image were in 3D, he might see Hypno’s Machoke-like streamlined body and defined abs.

Scenes flashed quickly.

Finally.

The superpower user accomplished his primary goal of ”isolated cultivation.”

[Your Dottler evolved into Orbeetle]

The yellow Dottler in the stream was enveloped in blue light, and as the light dimmed, it flew out of the water, transforming into a UFO-like, mechanically styled seven-star ladybug.

Its antennae resemble the head spikes of Gundam, and its eyes continually emit blue light like two bright bulbs.

Even in pixel art, Baimu can’t help but find this guy somewhat stylish.

On-screen.

The superpower user began to pack up to set off.

[You feel very satisfied with the results of training and decide to head to the nearest Turffield Town to challenge the first Gym]

The map structure in the Galar Region is relatively simple; not only does it have straightforward routes, but trains can be taken at will, making it possible to reach any desired location.

This indicates the rapid development of the Galar Region, knowing that regional commuter trains only appear much later in the animation.

The superpower user boarded at the nearest train station and arrived at Turffield Town, located in a basin, with houses distributed among terraced fields.

[You have successfully arrived at Turffield Town, and the upcoming Gym challenge fills you with excitement]

The simulator specifically gave Baimu an overhead view, allowing him to observe what the pixel version of sword and shield towns looks like.

Admittedly, it’s quite good-looking.

The superpower user also appreciated the pastoral scenery of Turffield Town, especially the Wooloo herd herded under Yamper’s guidance, with their round, plump heads constantly emitting ”baa~”, ”baa~”, which made Baimu eagerly watch.

Wooloo is truly adorable!

And after passing through the Wooloo herd, the superpower user arrived at the entrance of a large arena.

Due to its uniqueness, the Galar Region’s Gyms require a longer preparation time after signing up for challenges—mostly in ticket sales. Fortunately, Gigantification battles are highly attractive, even with tourists from other regions coming to buy tickets, so there’s no worry about tickets not selling.

[You walked into Turffield Arena, the staff confirmed your letter of recommendation and arranged a Gym challenge for you three days later]

After the narration appears.

The superpower user turned to walk out, but just as he exited, the scene abruptly changed to his entrance.

It’s evident these three days of preparation time are directly skipped by the simulator.
