Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 543: Chapter 404: Finishing Touches (?)_2

”Roll!”

He shouted with clenched fist.

Donphan transformed into a pitch-black tire, spinning rapidly around the arena.

”Dragon Breath.”

Steelix took a deep breath and suddenly spewed a powerful azure breath downward, but failed to hit the accelerating Donphan.

What is he planning?

Baimu was somewhat puzzled by Tetsuya’s intentions. Donphan, as a Pokémon whose moves mostly involve physical contact, would have difficulty hitting flying units in unfavorable environments.

In the animation, Ash Ketchum was distracted for quite some time, which led to Swellow being hit multiple times.

Usually, when Steelix takes to the air, Donphan’s only option is to be swapped out.

But as of now, Tetsuya seems to have his own ideas.

Since that’s the case.

Baimu decided to take advantage of the situation, ”Curse.”

Soaring through the sky, Steelix’s eyes faintly gleamed with dark light, a black aura flowed out from its bright silver body, turning into alternating orange-red and blue lights.

Upon seeing this, Tetsuya was not only unflustered, but his eyes brightened, ”Great chance! Now! Use Ivory to prop yourself up!”

His command timely reached Donphan’s ears, and after repeated rolling, it had amassed enough momentum.

”Boom!”

With a vigorous thrust, Donphan shot out its sturdy tusks, forming a pivot to leverage its entire body.

Bang!

Bathed in autumn sunlight, a massive black wheel soared from the ground, fearlessly launching like a missile toward the Mega Steelix that resembled an aerial battleship!

The speed is incredible!

Is this even possible!?

Baimu was unable to hide his astonishment, accustomed to seeing rolling with rocks from the field, but it was the first time he witnessed something capable of flying on its own.

With Ivory as a pivot? Won’t it shatter?

He couldn’t help but admire Donphan’s impressive self-control, flying straight toward Steelix without veering off, a feat clearly only achievable through extensive practice.

Moreover, Tetsuya’s choice of assault location was quite precise, deliberately ensuring Donphan leaped from beneath Steelix to avoid direct confrontation.

Given Donphan’s current position, having just completed Curse and slowed down Steelix’s movement, it seemed incapable of swinging its head to collide, at best blocking it.

But such would undoubtedly be a losing bet.

”Iron Tail!”

”Brute Force!”

Tetsuya exclaimed, as the yellow-brown light symbolizing Rock Attribute Energy faded from Donphan’s body, replaced by a bright brownish-red glow.

A massive size indeed exudes a formidable presence, yet it similarly impairs dodging capability.

In other words, Steelix can’t evade!

In an instant.

Donphan, transformed into a missile, collided fiercely with Steelix’s heavily swung giant tail!

Bang!

A heart-shaking thunderous boom!

It seemed Donphan’s Brute Force inherited the terrifying momentum from its continuous roll, causing Steelix’s Iron Tail not to slam it back to the ground, but rather rebound forcefully!

”Boom!”

Donphan spun upward, having reverted from a tire back to a low-legged elephant, yet successfully capturing the high ground, gazing down at Steelix.

A hint of pain amidst the expression on Steelix’s face, indicative of the difficulty even its post-Curse defense had in withstanding this Brute Force unscathed.

”Impressive power indeed.”

Baimu was similarly convinced of Tetsuya’s prowess, previously underestimating this former tournament champion due to Sceptile’s earlier performance, whereas now the latter showcased his skill convincingly.

Was it simply a matter of type compatibility earlier? Or was it surprise due to unfamiliarity with the Galarian Corsola?

Watching Donphan spinning to the peak before starting its descent, Baimu already had a plan in mind.

”Pursue the victory! Flame Fang!”

Tetsuya was unaware of Baimu’s thoughts at that moment, yet the favorable effect of Brute Force empowered his confidence, making him eager to turn the tide quickly.

Unfortunately, things didn’t go as smoothly as imagined.

”Boom!”

Donphan, having adjusted its descent posture, ignited flames on its sharp fangs, diving from above toward Steelix’s head, turning into what seemed like a blazing meteor amidst raging fires.

Roar——!!

As the air produced a rumbling burning sound.

But just as it was about to collide with Steelix’s head, a thick, silver-clad tail shot out, ignoring the flames on Donphan’s body and swiftly wrapped around it, tying it tightly.

”Thud!?”

Donphan looked panic-stricken but found itself completely immobilized. Any attempt to struggle only made the Steel Tail tighten, and in no time, its lungs were being squeezed, eliciting a creaking moan!

”Thud!”

Donphan let out a low, painful howl, and the flames on its tusks suddenly extinguished.

From the ground, Tetsuya watched in astonishment at the strangely postured Steelix, completely surprised at how its tail could be so nimble and quick to catch Donphan.

”Tie tight... focusing on the head without regard for the tail is a major mistake.”

Baimu, as if realizing it only later, gave the command and waved his hand again as he faced Tetsuya’s shocked expression: ”Slam!”

”Roar!”

Steelix suddenly swung its brilliant, white-glowing steel giant tail, slamming Donphan hard onto the ground like a thrown ball!

Thump!

The ground trembled, and amidst the rising dust, one could vaguely see web-like cracks spreading beneath Donphan.

”Donphan! Stand up!”

Tetsuya shouted anxiously, taking out a Pokeball to make a switch, but Baimu wasn’t going to give him that chance.

”Heavyweight Charge.”

As the words fell.

In the sky, Steelix’s tail lifted up, its massive body abruptly contorted into a straight line, with steel attribute energy powerful enough to distort the air forming a shimmering silver halo on its surface.

Four huge transverse steel bones rotated like a windmill, adding extra strong momentum to its descent.

Buzz—

The air buzzed.

In an instant.

The mega Steelix plummeted and turned into a silver streak of light, vanishing from its original place in a flash!

Boom!!!

The violent tremor caused those nearby to momentarily lift off the ground, and the deafening blast exploded in the ears of all the spectators. The towering dust enveloped the entire battlefield, and the tangible shockwave from the energy made many cover their faces and retreat.

A few even fell amid their panic and scrambled to escape on all fours.

What terrifying power!

Baimu waved away the encroaching dust with an unchanged expression.

Heavyweight Charge is undoubtedly Steelix’s most terrifying move at present, converting its exaggerated weight into extreme destructive force. Even if Donphan were far bigger than its peers, it couldn’t escape the fate of maximum damage.

On the field.

All that could be heard was the crunching sound of breaking stones, as a massive black shadow moved within. The rushing wind dispersed all the dust around, driven by Steelix with its elevated head and transverse steel bones.

Below it was an extremely terrifying irregular crater, and at the bottom, Donphan could be seen with swirling eyes, belly up.

Taking three consecutive hits from Steelix, its physical resistance, no matter how high, couldn’t withstand it.

The faces of the onlookers were left with a residual tremor of fear, no longer clustering around as tightly as before.

Even Queen Bonnie, during her teaching sessions, hadn’t displayed this level of destructive power, and who would have thought it would be experienced through such an unfamiliar trainer.

Of course.

The scene’s destructive power doesn’t necessarily mean greater strength.

It was just the spectators’ direct perception that was different.

The Aerial Rotom, blown away by the strong wind, wobbled back and glanced at Donphan in the pit, declaring:

”Donphan is unable to battle! Steelix wins!”

”Roar!”

Steelix roared skyward.

Tetsuya retracted Donphan, looking at Baimu in the distance with a face of admiration, ”I didn’t expect the hard-earned advantage to be so easily reversed, impressive. But even so, I won’t easily concede victory to you!”

He pulled out a Pokeball and tossed it out.

”Go! Metagross!”

Bang!

The light shimmered.

”Metag!”

The Pokémon, with a body seemingly forged from blue steel and disk-shaped, extended its sturdy, hammer-like giant claws from four directions, its face adorned with a silver ”X”-shaped metal crosspiece, resembling a crab at first glance, appeared.

The iron-footed Pokémon, Metagross, is known as one of the powerful quasi-gods, possessing steel and psychic attributes.

Tetsuya’s Metagross once beat Swellow and Grovyle in a battle with Ash Ketchum, and played a significant role in the subsequent semifinals and finals.

Baimu believed that Tetsuya’s Metagross might be much stronger than Sceptile and Donphan.
