Peerless Divine Doctor

Chapter 992: Chapter 992 Porcelain Bumping

”Let’s just go eat.”

Ye Luo gave a sheepish smile, and Nie Wenyu’s sisters didn’t say much either.

Then Ye Luo went to the parking lot, fetched his BMW that had been parked there for several months, and drove off with the three women from the airport, looking for a place to eat.

But just as Ye Luo was driving normally on the road, a woman in her sixties suddenly dashed out from the side and fell right in front of Ye Luo’s car.

Ye Luo slammed on the brakes hard. The screeching of the tires against the pavement rang out as the car lunged forward a few meters before finally coming to a stop, just barely touching the elderly woman’s body without hitting her.

”Ow, ow, I’ve been hit, I’ve been hit!”

All of a sudden, the old lady on the ground started shouting loudly, a pained expression on her face, instantly drawing a crowd of onlookers.

”Oh no, someone’s been hit!”

Nie Wenyu’s sisters inside the car changed their expressions and exclaimed in alarm.

”Hit someone? This is just my unlucky encounter with the latest money-making scheme in Huaxia.”

Ye Luo said with a faint smile.

”What?”

Nie Wenling’s sisters looked stunned and couldn’t help but ask.

”Scamming!”

Ye Luo calmly uttered two words before stepping out of the car.

”Ma’am, are you alright?”

Ye Luo walked to the front of the car and spoke to the elderly woman.

”Do you have a problem with your eyesight, kid? I’ve fallen to the ground after being hit; how could I be alright? I feel like I’ve broken several ribs. Hurry up and compensate me.”

The old lady put on a look of unbearable pain; her acting skills were absolutely top-notch.

”Perhaps I should take you to the hospital then.”

Ye Luo suggested with a hint of a smile on his lips.

”No need. If you take me to the hospital, what happens if you just leave me there? Just pay me compensation; I’ll go see a doctor myself,” the old woman said directly.

”We can’t do that, she’s clearly scamming, how can we give her money?”

Nie Wenling, unable to stand it, got out of the car and spoke unkindly while pointing at the old lady.

”Oh my, how can a young girl like you be so unreasonable? Why would an old lady like me need to stage a scam? Just because you rich folks hit someone, you think you can get away with this? And now you accuse me of scamming? You rich people are simply abominable! Everyone, please, I need justice,” the old lady said, her face twisted in pain and her eyes squeezing out several tears.

The crowd of onlookers around them immediately began pointing fingers at Ye Luo and the others, expressing their dissatisfaction, accusing them of recklessly hitting someone with their car, and then refusing to admit it.

Perhaps because of the Human Race’s inherent disdain for the wealthy, Ye Luo and Nie Wenling were labeled as utterly sinful people. Nie Wenling trembled with anger, her face full of fury, yet she didn’t know how to vent her feelings.

”What happened? What’s going on?”

At that moment, a clear and pleasant voice rang out, and a beautiful woman dressed in a T-shirt and tight jeans walked over—it was Yang Bingning, the police captain whom they hadn’t seen in a long while.

”Captain Yang, long time no see!”

”It’s you.”

Yang Bingning looked at Ye Luo, her eyes showing a hint of surprise.

”What’s all this about?”

Yang Bingning’s gaze turned quickly towards the old lady as she spoke.

”It’s nothing, it’s just that this old lady claims I hit her with my car and demands compensation,” Ye Luo said indifferently.

”You hit someone and you say it’s nothing? Hurry and take her to the hospital.”

Yang Bingning’s expression changed instantly as she hurried to the old lady’s side, saying, ”Old lady, where did you get hit? I’ll take you to the hospital right away.”

”I won’t go to the hospital, I can go by myself. I want him to pay for the damage first, otherwise he might flee,” the old lady said, shaking her head.

”Old lady, don’t worry, he won’t run away, I am...”

Just as Yang Bingning was about to reveal her identity, she was interrupted by Ye Luo.

”Old lady, rest assured, I will definitely take responsibility. Now, how much do you say I should compensate?”

Ye Luo blurted out directly.

”I’m not going to ask for too much, just fifty thousand. Before, a fellow villager of mine was hit by a car and got over a million in compensation; I’m only asking for fifty thousand from you, that’s not too much, is it?”

The old lady looked at Ye Luo as she spoke.

”That’s not too much, not too much at all, but I think it’s actually too little. How about I give you this amount?”

Ye Luo said, stretching out two fingers.

”A hundred thousand?” The old lady’s face lit up with joy.

”Ye Luo, have you gone mad? Why would you give her a hundred thousand?” Nie Wenling was immediately shocked as she stared at Ye Luo.

”No, it’s a million!”

Ye Luo shook his head and said.

”What? A million?”

Nie Wenling was instantly stunned. Even the old lady and Yang Bingning were shocked, and the bystanders around them gazed at Ye Luo with astonishment. This guy must really be a fool with too much money – after hitting someone, he’s offering a million.

”Ye Luo!” Nie Wenling was getting frantic and tried to speak, but Ye Luo stopped her.

”You... you’re really going to give me a million?”

The old lady looked at Ye Luo with amazement.

”Yes, a million. I will have someone transfer the money right now,” Ye Luo said with certainty.

Suddenly, the old lady’s face was overcome with ecstatic joy, her eyes glinting with intense greed.

”After all, at your age, being injured just means living in agony. Rather than that, it might be better if I just hit you and finished it off, then paid you the million to avoid further trouble.”

Ye Luo said indifferently, and immediately everyone present was startled.

”Captain Yang, come over here first.”

Ye Luo immediately pulled Yang Bingning aside.

”Ye Luo, you...”

Yang Bingning’s gaze followed Ye Luo, who had already got into the car and started the engine before she could react. He then reversed the car for about a dozen meters and stepped hard on the gas, driving the car straight toward the old lady.

”No!”

Yang Bingning’s face turned pale in an instant, and she quickly shouted out. The crowd around them gasped in shock.

The old lady lying on the ground also changed her expression dramatically. As she watched the car speeding towards her, she cursed under her breath and sprang up remarkably agilely from the ground, vanishing in the blink of an eye with the speed of a 100-meter sprinter, comparable to Liu Xiang hurdling.

Ye Luo stopped the car and stepped out, a smile playing at the corner of his mouth; ”She sure ran off pretty quickly.”

”Hmph, I told you she was a scam artist. She wasn’t injured in the slightest,” Nie Wenling snorted proudly, casting a cold glance at the onlookers.

The surrounding crowd also came to their senses, their expressions somewhat embarrassed.

”You knew all along, why didn’t you tell me?”

Yang Bingning approached Ye Luo and spoke.

”You didn’t ask me to tell you. But Captain Yang, you do look pretty good when you’re not in uniform. Why aren’t you wearing it today?”

Ye Luo’s eyes surveyed Yang Bingning.
