Online Game: My Decay Drives the Entire Server Crazy

Chapter 26 Ambush in the Wilderness? Luring the Giant Bear Lord to Wipe Out 300 Elite TeamsIt had been three days since the Commoner Supermarket opened, and business was still desolate. It wasn’t because the goods were bad, nor was it because the prices weren’t cheap—Lin Ye had slashed material prices to half the market rate; iron ore sold for only 50 silver coins, and herbs for only 30, cheaper even than NPCs. But no one dared to come and buy.

The Heavenly Temple’s ban was still in effect; whoever dared to enter the Commoner Supermarket was an enemy of the Heavenly Temple. Solo players couldn’t afford to offend the top guild in the entire server, so they could only watch from afar and satisfy their curiosity by posting on the forums.

Fatty Wang was pacing anxiously: ”Brother, if this continues, our inventory is going to burst. With money coming in but nothing going out, our capital chain is going to break.”

Lin Ye sat by the window, snacking on virtual melon seeds, and said unhurriedly: ”What’s the rush? Qin Wentian is more anxious than we are.”

”Why is he anxious?”

”He spent a fortune monopolizing materials, but now that our shop is open, his materials won’t sell. Guess how much he’s lost now?”

Fatty Wang paused for a moment and opened the Trading House to take a look—the price of those materials monopolized by the Heavenly Temple had already fallen by a third. Although Lin Ye’s Commoner Supermarket didn’t have many customers, it was like a thorn stuck in the Heavenly Temple’s monopoly, letting all players know that the materials weren’t worth that price at all.

”Seems like... he lost quite a bit.” Fatty Wang scratched his head.

”Exactly.” Lin Ye stood up. ”Let’s go, let’s go out for a spin.”

”Where to?”

”The wild. Time to restock.”

Su Qinghan frowned: ”The people from the Heavenly Temple are still guarding outside. I used my scouting skill to sweep the area yesterday; there are at least three hundred people lying in ambush at the exit from the main city to the wild map.”

Lin Ye laughed: ”Three hundred people? Perfect. Experience packs delivered to our doorstep; it would be a waste not to take them.”

The three of them walked out of the Commoner Supermarket and headed toward the North Gate of the main city. The solo players they met on the way saw Lin Ye and dodged far away—not because they feared him, but because they feared being seen by people from the Heavenly Temple. However, there were a few bold ones who secretly sent him private messages—

[Private Message] Solo Player Old Li: Brother Ye, be careful! There are a lot of people ambushing outside the North Gate, at least three hundred! They’re all elites from the Heavenly Temple!

[Private Message] Brick-Moving Expert: Brother Ye, why don’t you stay in the city for now? Wait until the heat dies down?

[Private Message] Invincible Sword God: Brother Ye, need help? I might be a noob, but I can be cannon fodder for you!

Lin Ye looked at these private messages, and his heart warmed a little. There were still good people in this game.

He replied to Invincible Sword God: ”No need. Just stay in the city and watch the show.”

When they reached the North Gate, Su Qinghan suddenly grabbed Lin Ye: ”Wait. There’s an ambush ahead.”

She activated her scouting skill and projected a map in front of Lin Ye. On the map, the woods outside the North Gate, the hillsides, and behind the rocks were densely packed with red dots. There were at least three hundred of them, distributed professionally, advancing and retreating in an organized manner; one look and you could tell they had been trained.

”Three hundred and twenty-seven.” Su Qinghan reported the precise number. ”The leader should be a trusted aide of the Heavenly Temple’s vice-guild leader, with the ID ’Heavenly Temple Ying Ren’, a level 20 Assassin, ranked in the top fifty of the entire server.”

Fatty Wang’s legs went soft: ”Three... three hundred people? Brother, why don’t we go back?”

Lin Ye ignored him, stared at the map for a while, and a wicked smile curved on his lips: ”No need to go back. Let’s take them to a place.”

”What place?”

Lin Ye pointed to a mark on the northeast corner of the map: ”The Giant Bear Lord’s lair.”

Su Qinghan was stunned: ”A World BOSS? Are you crazy? That thing is level 30 with 100,000 HP; one slap could kill the three of us.”

Lin Ye laughed: ”That’s exactly why we need to take them there. Let the BOSS help us clear the field.”

Su Qinghan instantly understood what he meant and couldn’t help but laugh: ”You really are wicked to the core.”

The three of them walked out of the North Gate. As soon as they stepped into the wild map, the Heavenly Temple members lying in ambush in the woods rushed out. The leader, Ying Ren, stood at the front, holding two daggers glowing with purple light, his eyes cold and sinister.

”Ye, you actually dared to come out.” Ying Ren sneered. ”The guild leader said that if I don’t kill you back to the Novice Village today, I won’t need to be the vice-captain anymore.”

The lackeys behind him chimed in—

”With over three hundred people, even one spit from each of us could drown you!”

”Be sensible, kneel and kowtow three times. If our captain is in a good mood, he might just leave you a whole corpse.”

”Why waste words with him? Just attack!”

Lin Ye looked around, a wicked smile curving on his lips: ”Over three hundred people? Qin Wentian is really willing to invest.”

Ying Ren waved his hand: ”Brothers, get him!”

Over three hundred people rushed up simultaneously, skills raining down like a deluge. But Lin Ye had been prepared; he turned and ran, heading in the direction of the Giant Bear Lord’s lair.

”Don’t let him run! Chase!”

Over three hundred people chased Lin Ye into the forest. Lin Ye ran at a moderate pace, just keeping them in tow, making them feel like they could catch him, but always falling just short.

After running for five minutes, Lin Ye arrived at the entrance of the Giant Bear Lord’s lair. It was a huge cave, with the entrance piled high with bones, and the air filled with a foul, fishy stench. A deafening roar came from inside the cave, shaking the ground.

”Brother! Why did you run here?!” Fatty Wang was so scared his face went pale.

Lin Ye ignored him and dove into the cave.

Inside the cave, a Giant Bear the size of a small hill was sleeping on the ground. Its body was covered in brown fur, its claws were larger than a human head, and foul saliva dripped from its mouth, its snoring sounding like thunder.

[World BOSS: Giant Bear Lord (Lord-tier)]

Level: 30

HP: 100,000

Skills: Bear Paw Slap, Earthquake Stomp, Roaring Intimidation, Furious Charge, Lord’s Pressure.

Su Qinghan gasped when she saw the BOSS’s panel: ”100,000 HP? And five skills? This is even fiercer than the Gold-Armored Wolf King in the Wolf King Secret Realm!”

Lin Ye laughed: ”Fiercer is better. If it weren’t fierce, how would it clear the field?”

He raised his hand and applied 100 stacks of debuff to the Giant Bear Lord—

[System Prompt: Target [Giant Bear Lord] has been afflicted with Decay Debuff, current stacks: 100. Deals 100% of maximum HP as true damage per second.]

The Giant Bear Lord’s HP bar dropped by one-tenth instantly. It woke up from its sleep and let out a deafening roar—

”ROAR—!”

The entire cave was shaking. The Giant Bear Lord sprang up from the ground, its scarlet eyes fixed on Lin Ye, its mouth opening to bite.

But Lin Ye didn’t give it the chance. He stacked another 100 layers of debuff, then activated ”Targeted Tracking” and ”Aggro Transfer”—

[System Prompt: Target [Giant Bear Lord] has been afflicted with [Targeted Tracking]. Tracking target: All players wearing the Heavenly Temple guild badge.]

[System Prompt: Target [Giant Bear Lord] has been afflicted with [Aggro Transfer]. All aggro values have been transferred to Heavenly Temple guild members.]

The Giant Bear Lord paused for a moment, then turned its head to look at the cave entrance—where over three hundred Heavenly Temple elite players were pouring in.

Its eyes turned red instantly.

”ROAR—!”

The Giant Bear Lord let out a violent roar and charged at the crowd. With one slap, over a dozen warriors were sent flying, their HP bars zeroed out. With one stomp, several mages were squashed into meat paste. It was like an out-of-control tank, charging through the crowd, slapping one away with each swipe, stomping one with each step; the three hundred people instantly fell into chaos.

”Holy crap! Why is the BOSS only attacking us?!”

”That Ye put a debuff on the BOSS! The BOSS is only chasing Heavenly Temple people!”

”Run! We can’t take it!”

”Can’t run! This BOSS is too fast!”

Over three hundred people wanted to run, but the Giant Bear Lord was too fast, catching and slapping them down one by one. Ying Ren was the first to die; he was slapped in the face by the Giant Bear Lord and instantly killed, his level dropping from 20 to 15.

”Ding! Player [Heavenly Temple Ying Ren] has died, level dropped: 20 -> 15.”

He stood up at the respawn point, his face deathly pale. He looked at his level, then looked at the battlefield broadcast—over three hundred people, half had already been slapped to death by the Giant Bear Lord, and the remaining half were fleeing in all directions.

”This... how is this possible...”

Three minutes later, all three hundred people were dead. The Giant Bear Lord stood in the middle of a pile of corpses, covered in blood, panting heavily. Its HP bar had also been ground down to only half by Lin Ye’s debuff.

Lin Ye walked out from the depths of the cave, looking at the equipment and materials scattered on the ground, a wicked smile curving on his lips.

”Fatty, pick up the equipment.”

Fatty Wang had already rushed up, picking things up while shouting: ”Brother! So many purple items! And gold ones too!”

Su Qinghan watched this scene and couldn’t help but laugh: ”You really are something, wherever you go, people are there to deliver equipment to you.”

Lin Ye shrugged: ”Can’t help it, I’m just too charismatic.”

He walked up to the Giant Bear Lord and applied another 100 stacks of debuff. The Giant Bear Lord’s HP bar dropped to only 10%, all its attributes were reduced by 90%, and it lay on the ground panting, unable to even stand up.

”Do you submit?” Lin Ye squatted in front of it and patted its head.

The Giant Bear Lord let out a pitiful whimper and nodded frantically.

[System Prompt: Target [Giant Bear Lord] has entered the ”Submission” state. Do you accept the submission?]

Lin Ye clicked ”Yes”. The debuff on the Giant Bear Lord was instantly cleared, and it lay on the ground, wagging its tail like a dog.

Su Qinghan watched this scene and was completely convinced: ”You’ve taken in another lackey?”

Lin Ye laughed: ”Not a lackey, a henchman.” He pointed to the corpses on the ground, ”Weren’t they pretty good at fighting just now? From now on, they’ll follow me.”

The Giant Bear Lord whimpered and followed obediently behind him.

Fatty Wang ran back with his arms full of equipment: ”Brother! We’re rich! The stuff dropped by over three hundred people is worth at least 500,000 gold coins!”

Lin Ye nodded: ”Keep it. Go back and list it.”

The three of them, with the Giant Bear Lord in tow, walked back to the main city in a grand procession. The solo players along the way saw this scene and were completely dumbfounded—

”Holy crap! Isn’t that the World BOSS Giant Bear Lord? Why is it following Brother Ye?”

”It was tamed? Brother Ye can even tame a World BOSS?!”

”This is just too ridiculous!”

[world channel]

[Player ”Wocao Wuqing”: Brother Ye brought the Giant Bear Lord back to the city! All the Heavenly Temple people were slapped to death by the BOSS!]

[Player ”Brick-Moving Expert”: Three hundred people wiped out by a BOSS? This is too miserable!]

[Player ”Invincible Sword God”: Brother Ye is awesome! Even a World BOSS can be tamed!]

[Player ”Yes Little Follower”: Qin Wentian must be crying now, right? Over three hundred elites all dead, all their equipment dropped, and the BOSS was taken away by Brother Ye!]

Qin Wentian looked at the messages on the world channel, his face livid. He opened the guild channel and found that Ying Ren had sent a message—

[Guild Channel] [Heavenly Temple Ying Ren]: Guild Leader, the mission failed. Three hundred and twenty-seven brothers, all dead. That Ye lured the Giant Bear Lord over, and the BOSS only chased our people...

The hand Qin Wentian used to grip the mouse had veins bulging, and he gritted his teeth: ”This Ye... he can even utilize a World BOSS?”

The lackey behind him asked cautiously: ”Guild Leader, should we continue the blockade?”

Qin Wentian remained silent for a long time, then finally shook his head: ”Stop for now. If this continues, the brothers’ levels will all be gone.”

”What about the material monopoly?”

”Continue.” Qin Wentian sneered, ”Although he has a BOSS as a henchman, the source of materials is still in our hands. Without materials, his shop won’t last long.”

At this moment, Lin Ye was walking into the main city with the Giant Bear Lord. The solo players along the way gave way one after another, looking at him as if he were a monster.

Fatty Wang followed behind, his back straight, walking with a swagger.

Su Qinghan watched this scene and couldn’t help but laugh: ”You really are a focal point wherever you go.”

Lin Ye shrugged: ”Can’t help it, I have Talent.”

He walked to the entrance of the Commoner Supermarket, turned around, and looked at the Giant Bear Lord behind him, a wicked smile curving on his lips.

”From now on, you guard here. Whoever dares to come and cause trouble, slap them to death.”

The Giant Bear Lord roared and lay obediently at the entrance, like a watchdog.

The players of the entire server saw this scene and went crazy—

[world channel]

[Player ”Wocao Wuqing”: Brother Ye is letting a World BOSS guard the door? This is too extravagant!]

[Player ”Brick-Moving Expert”: I’m convinced, truly convinced. Brother Ye is the most awesome player I’ve ever seen, bar none.]

[Player ”Yes Little Follower”: From today on, Brother Ye is my idol! No one can stop me from worshipping him!]

Lin Ye looked at the messages on the world channel, a wicked smile curving on his lips.

Qin Wentian, didn’t you want to ban me? Then let’s see who can’t hold out first.
