Nine Dragons Saint Ancestor

Chapter 169: 169 Bite Back

”What’s going on?”

Initially, Bi Luo was extremely confident in his Bi Rot Poison, but the moment Yun Xiao moved, he sensed that something was wrong – this was not according to his script at all.

Usually, cultivators afflicted by Bi Rot Poison would die miserably within a time, suffering so intensely that even those at the Meridian Rushing Realm couldn’t bear it and would scream in agony.

But since Yun Xiao was poisoned, he hadn’t let out a single scream. Initially, Bi Luo thought this young man had some secret technique to endure the pain and control it, but the toxicity of the Bi Rot Poison was not so easily neutralized.

If Bi Luo knew what his teacher and junior brother had subjected Yun Xiao to, he probably wouldn’t be so shocked now. Even the extreme Ice Cold Poison of the Seven-Colored Immortal Spider and Black Demon Poison, as well as the Three-legged Ice Crystal Toad, had not been able to claim Yun Xiao’s life.

Bi Luo’s Bi Rot Poison might be formidable, but it was at most on the level of the Seven-Colored Immortal Spider’s extreme poison. Even when Yun Xiao was just at the Middle Stage of the Meridian Rushing Realm, the poison couldn’t kill him, let alone now.

Actually, what Yun Xiao relied on was not his significantly improved Meridian Qi Cultivation, but rather the Golden Snake Worm that seemingly ingested any poison. Most of the Bi Rot Poison that entered his body had been devoured by the Golden Snake Worm, causing absolutely no harm to him.

It was not until Yun Xiao reached out and grabbed Mo Qing’s right hand, seeming to detoxify the genius girl of the Inner Sect, that Bi Luo had to accept the fact – his utterly advantageous Bi Rot Poison had indeed failed on this Outer Sect boy.

Let’s not mention how gloomy Bi Luo and Xuan Zhi’s faces were on the side, Mo Qing, as one of the involved parties, only felt the excruciating poison that she barely endured inside her suddenly being devoured by some mysterious force at an extremely rapid pace, no longer rampaging within her.

Actually, this was not Yun Xiao’s own doing; he only touched Mo Qing’s skin, and then the Golden Snake Worm would automatically devour those extreme poisons.

Yun Xiao didn’t really understand this Golden Snake Worm, nor did he know whether it would awaken after ingesting so many poisons and then compete with him for control over his body.

But seeing all that Mo Qing had done for him earlier, although Yun Xiao was in a special state, he sensed everything clearly; the reason this genius girl of the Inner Sect was poisoned was all because she wanted to save him, which left him no choice but to save her despite the circumstances.

Although it was true that in the Yurong Volcano, Mo Qing had intended to gouge out his eyes; but there was a reason for that. Yun Xiao knew in his heart that any proud genius girl, after being inadvertently seen naked by a man, would lose her rationality.

Putting that incident aside, Yun Xiao was deeply impressed by Mo Qing; and moreover, if he didn’t dispel the extreme poison within Mo Qing’s body, those two on the side would probably still not let him go.

Let alone Xuan Zhi, the Third Prince at the Late Stage of the Meridian Gathering Realm, but Bi Luo was a genuine genius of the Inner Sect, and even among the elite of the Inner Sect, Yun Xiao believed that even if he broke through to the Peak of the Meridian Gathering Realm, he absolutely couldn’t match Bi Luo.

The reason why Yun Xiao had not died yet was only because Bi Luo was extremely confident about his Bi Rot Poison, thinking that this young man would inevitably suffer and die within a time, hence he hadn’t made any move yet.

If Bi Luo truly used his Meridian Qi power to overwhelm Yun Xiao in a head-on battle, no matter how many tricks the latter had, it would be futile.

Thus Yun Xiao had to find a turning point to change the situation, and Mo Qing’s appearance was undoubtedly a huge turn of events; if this genius girl were to die from the poison, he would likewise be doomed.

”Boy, you’re courting death!”

Realizing Yun Xiao’s intentions in his actions, Bi Luo finally turned back here, and after an angry shout, his entire body lunged in this direction.

It seemed that Bi Luo already knew that the Bi Rot Poison no longer had an effect on Yun Xiao, so he was determined to crush Yun Xiao with his Meridian Qi this time, showing no mercy in his attack.

In Bi Luo’s mind, Yun Xiao must die, and regarding what would happen to Mo Qing, he couldn’t care less. He believed that as long as he killed Yun Xiao, the latter’s mysterious detoxifying methods wouldn’t work, and Mo Qing would most likely still succumb to a poisonous death.

However, Bi Luo had miscalculated one thing, that was the speed at which Yun Xiao neutralized the poison. Just a brief delay, and the latter had already devoured the last bit of extreme poison in Mo Qing’s body, allowing her to recover completely.

Yun Xiao’s reaction was incredibly fast. Sensing Bi Luo’s overwhelming presence bearing down, he immediately dodged and sheltered behind Mo Qing, whose eyes, previously tightly shut, finally opened, revealing a hint of extreme danger.

Bang!

A loud noise erupted, whether it was Yun Xiao positioned behind Mo Qing or Xuan Zhi standing a bit farther away, they both felt as if a strong gust of wind had swept through the courtyard, leaving them somewhat breathless.

Thud, thud, thud...

This blast of wind was naturally the result of a clash between Bi Luo and Mo Qing. Under this fierce encounter, Yun Xiao and Xuan Zhi clearly saw the inner sect Poison Vein second senior brother, whose confidence at first seemed limitless, suddenly turn pale and retreat four or five steps before he could steady himself.

However, what made Bi Luo look even more ghastly wasn’t the minor internal injury he had sustained, but the knowledge that tonight’s foolproof plan might have fallen through due to Mo Qing’s recovery.

Originally, Xuan Zhi’s plan was flawless, with a mere outer disciple at the late stage of the Meridian Gathering Realm standing no chance against the genius Bi Luo from the Inner Sect.

Little did he know that his pride and joy, the Bi Decay Poison, would prove ineffective against Yun Xiao, causing him to miss a prime opportunity to kill Yun Xiao, and ultimately, the arrival of Mo Qing thwarted their plan altogether.

But who the hell could have anticipated that an Outer Disciple in the late stage of Meridian Gathering Realm would also be immune to the Bi Decay Poison, a poison that even cultivators in the Meridian Rushing Realm could not counter? At this moment, Bi Luo was truly cursing in his heart.

”Junior Sister Mo Qing, this Yun Xiao has brutally murdered a fellow disciple, committing a capital offense against the sect rules. Are you truly going to defend him?”

At this juncture, Bi Luo knew that provoking Mo Qing further would only result in humiliation, thus he skipped over that part and shifted the focus to the grand justice of sect rules.

”Senior Brother Bi Luo, do you think Senior Sister Mo Qing is blind? The circumstances of Guan Hu’s death clearly point to your deadly poison. If we’re talking about brutalizing fellow disciples, I’d say you’re even more suspicious.”

Seeing that Bi Luo refrained from attacking, Yun Xiao, too, emerged from behind Mo Qing. However, his initial remarks caused Mo Qing to slightly frown; could this kid be mocking her?

Back in Yurong Volcano, Mo Qing had intended to gouge out Yun Xiao’s eyes. If not for the timely intervention of Fire Cloud Rat Chi Yan, Yun Xiao might have indeed been blinded.

It must be said that a woman’s intuition is indeed sensitive. A casual remark from Yun Xiao spurred many thoughts in Mo Qing, and upon hearing this, Bi Luo’s face turned even grimmer.

With his eloquence, Yun Xiao adeptly flipped the accusation of slaughtering a fellow disciple back onto Bi Luo, and considering Guan Hu’s death, this older brother from the Poison Vein indeed seemed very likely to be the perpetrator.

In truth, the poison that Guan Hu succumbed to was supplied by Bi Luo to Xuan Zhi. It was a colorless and tasteless poison which even Guan Hu himself had not detected until the very moment Xuan Zhi appeared, when he realized he had been plotted against by His Highness.

Yun Xiao inadvertently revealed a truth that made both Bi Luo and Xuan Zhi shudder. Following this, the Third Prince immediately retorted, ”Yun Xiao, stop your cunning arguments. I witnessed you killing Guan Hu with my own eyes. You can’t deny that, can you?”

It seemed Xuan Zhi was determined to pin the crime of murdering a fellow disciple on Yun Xiao, but in terms of eloquence and reasoning, even another Xuan Zhi would not match up to Yun Xiao.

”Since each party has their own staunch opinions, why not report this matter to the Sect Elders for a verdict on what exactly caused Guan Hu’s death, shall we?”

Yun Xiao looked provocatively at Xuan Zhi across the way, ultimately resting his gaze on Bi Luo. He believed that after voicing this suggestion, Bi Luo, if he did not want to escalate the matter, would give a satisfactory reply to avoid making the situation worse.

As expected by Yun Xiao, the circumstances of Guan Hu’s death were evident, as his hand was placed on the back of his neck, but the specifics were clear enough that the Spiritual Rank Elders of Jade Pot Sect couldn’t overlook them upon investigation.

In reality, framing Yun Xiao for murdering a fellow disciple was just a pretext Bi Luo invented. He had hoped to have a crime to pin on Yun Xiao after killing him, leaving the Elders of the Medical Pulse powerless to argue.

Moreover, concerning just an outer disciple, and a deceased one at that, the Elders were likely to pay little heed, which was part of Bi Luo’s entire scheme.

Unbeknownst to him, the situation would backfire as Yun Xiao mysteriously survived the poisoning, which posed a grave issue as the cause of Guan Hu’s death wouldn’t withstand scrutiny. If Bi Luo failed to achieve his goal, he risked causing further trouble for himself.

Ultimately, this was a matter of strength; previously, despite being in the right, Yun Xiao had no say before Bi Luo. Now, as Bi Luo faced Mo Qing, he was bitterly and frustratingly placed in the same position Yun Xiao had been in earlier.
