My Werewolf System

Chapter 1269: Everyone Dead?

Being an Altered hunter was a dangerous job. There were many that lost their lives on the simplest of missions, but there was something different about this mission compared to others.

Nearly all of the hunters in the group were no less than three stars. They were hunters that had a large amount of experience, hunters who had been with each other for some amount of time.

Trixie herself was a rare breed among the hunters as well, someone who deeply cared about those in her group, and took each death seriously. Threating on it over and over again, thinking about what she could have done different in order to save her allies.

This was how she was able to rise to the top, so seeing things like this, seeing what was happening right now, it was devastating to her. Immediately she decided to run forward, her eyes locked on the new opponent that had come into the scene.

Ivy with her special flexible sword that lashed somewhat similarly to a whip, and with the mass amount of power of a werewolf behind it, they were able to move it at immense speeds.

Several of the hunters nearby, used whatever ranged weapons they had. Ivy swung the sword above her head, and with just the wind that had been built up from her swing alone, all of the items were blown back into the water onto the flooring or far away from its target.

Ivy quickly swung her sword again, and as the Altered hunters lifted theirs to protect themselves it sliced right through their weapons making part of them fall to the ground. With another swing before they could do anything they felt a sharp pain on their neck, before blood started to pour out.

”Ivy is here quicker than I thought she would be, did she think I would have trouble with these fools?” Broodie asked as he continued to stop hits from a worn out Kim.

Due to the nature of her particular race she wasnʼt one to get tired, but it didnʼt mean the wounds on her body didnʼt build up, making her seem more sluggish compared to before.

Right then, Broodie could sense someone coming up from behind him. He swung his shield aiming to hit the only person it could be Trixie. She skidded on the ground right under Broodieʼs attack.

He had somewhat predicted this, and was ready for her, but what he didnʼt predict was how she was heading straight past Kim and continued down the rest of the bridge. She was heading for the others, heading to help the others.

Before she was calm, she had made the right choice, fighting the Ironfang was the right choice if she wanted the higher chance of saving as many of her allies as possible, but now that there were two Ironfangʼs that had changed the whole scenario.

When rushing forward she soon was met with great difficulty, because the Werewolves that had been fighting against the other Altered hunters had now turned their way to fight against her.

”Get out of my way!” Trixie screamed.

She jumped up at the same time a Werewolf jumped towards her, and shoved her needle first. It extended out piercing the Werewolf right through the chest. She had instantly dealt with one of them and using the power of the weapon it retracted back.

She fell on the ground and rolled as Werewolves lifted their claws to hit her, but she was narrowly avoiding all of the strikes.

Swinging her needle out, it extended mid-swing. The Werewolves thought they had closed the perfect distance or were far away enough to not get hit by the needle but it extended out further than it had done before.

The tip of the needle scratched the face of one Werewolf even cutting its eyes. The needle extended at different strengths, different speeds and lengths and it was all up to the user. Making it a weapon that was impossible to predict.

In the end though fighting against so many, Trixie had suffered a claw scratch on her back. She was wearing the 5-star gear for hunters. The claws hadnʼt managed to cut through the special armour, but the power of the strike still hurt as she was flung forward.

Gritting her teeth and ignoring the pain, she continued to attack all of those around her. She continued fighting not even keeping track of how many they were.

ʼI have to get to them, I have to get to the others!ʼ

Trixieʼs breathing was heavy, as she wasnʼt focusing on pacing herself, and she was completely worn out, finally when she was able to catch a moment, she had seen she had defeated a large amount of Werewolves.

There were only two left that were cautiously standing around her. Seeing what she had done the Werewolves werenʼt recklessly charging in, but the amount of times she had been hit, she was hardly able to stand anymore.

”The others…how are the others!” Trixie thought.

”The others?” Ivy laughed as she heard a person walking across the wooden floor board joining the other two Werewolves. ”All of your allies have fallen. You see it wasnʼt just you in a rush, I need to head back as soon as possible, I have a troublesome person that has been hanging around my home for a while.”

Trixieʼs mind was focused on the dead on the ground. She couldnʼt believe it, even with her here, right in front of them she could do nothing to help them.

”AHHH!” Trixie screamed but it was half-hearted as she couldnʼt get her voice out. ”The least I can do…is take you all out, but this body of mine, it wonʼt listen to me!”

Right then, one of the Werewolves jumped first right at Trixie. She readied her weapon, to pierce him at the right time, when right in front of her eyes, she saw a figure of a wolf jump from the side of the bridge.

Its mouth open wide and biting right into the neck of her attacker. It bit hard, crushing and killing the Werewolf in an instant, and soon after the body started to change, from that of a Wolf, to that of a human.

”…Kai…”
