My Talent Panel Can Add Points

What can be done in half a day?

For other races, maybe half a day is not enough to do much, but for the Insect Race, it’s different. Their offensive capability is the strongest, especially the high-tier Insect Nests. As time spreads, the intensity of the battle skyrockets, and the Insect Race only grows stronger.

On the edge of the battlefield, countless dark workers lay down the carpet fungus on the battlefield outskirts. A continuous stream of anomalies rush from the Insect Nest, and the anomalies whose biomass is exhausted return to the carpet fungus to replenish energy.

Not only that, but the workers on the carpet fungus have even started constructing buildings on the battlefield. Numerous nests are continuously being produced, some destined for anomaly production, others for the ultra-long-range bombarding self-destruct bug launchers.

A self-destruct bug launcher is a kind of building that continuously produces self-destruct bugs. It ejects the self-destruct bugs it produces onto enemy structures, where they explode.

”Whew~!!”

A sharp whistling sound pierced the air as countless small bugs fell from the sky. Qinghe, who was commanding the battlefield, immediately became highly vigilant and shouted, ”There are self-destruct bugs; be careful, don’t let them explode on you!”

The top-tier combatants of the Sword and Shield Group reacted quickly, using attacks to resist or evade.

But as they were already under great pressure fighting the anomalies, encountering self-destruct bugs now made it inevitable to become distracted.

One red bug quietly landed, and while a member wasn’t paying attention, it quietly crawled onto his foot. The red light began to shine rapidly in a short period.

”This is....”

When he realized something was wrong, the self-destruct bug on his leg had already heated up rapidly, indicating an imminent self-detonation.

”Boom!!”

The red explosion engulfed him, instantly blowing off his leg and destroying half his body. He lay on the ground, barely alive, groaning.

Ultimately, an anomaly descended from above, killing the grievously injured member and swallowing his body whole. The digestive fluids inside quickly broke it down into usable biomass to continue fighting.

”Brother Tang!!”

Someone screamed from deep inside, then desperately fought. In their disarray, their combat strength decreased, and casualties quickly increased, further escalating the battle’s intensity.

Then, more and more self-destruct launch towers were completed, countless insects rained down from the sky, flying towards the Sword and Shield Group and self-destructing.

”There are Insect Race buildings over there! They built them right next to us! Someone needs to go and counter it, or else we are doomed!”

”Who can go and counter?”

”There are so many anomalies in the sky, merely dealing with them is already challenging; how can we go out?”

”Captain! Should we make a move? Right now!”

”Commander Raghmor!”

....

Countless roars echoed in Raghmor’s ears. He sighed deeply and finally drew his sword.

The top-tier combatants on both sides balanced each other, and there was a mutual understanding that if one top-tier combatant made a move, the other side would certainly respond.

Raghmor slaying insects wouldn’t likely make the enemy’s elites feel distressed, but if the enemy elites seized this opportunity to kill his subordinates, then his heart would surely ache! Insects may be expendable, but his group members were highly valuable! The two couldn’t be compared at all!

Now, two choices lay before him.

Either use a high-energy ability to destroy the buildings from a significant distance, or charge directly out, letting his team bear the risk while he solves the problem with relatively less expenditure.

Save the people or preserve his strength?

This is a tough choice!

However, the choice faced now is not the hardest one. What makes Raghmor feel the most challenging is the truth behind the current situation.

How could they spread the carpet fungus this far?

How could the enemy still construct towers?

Why are there endless anomalies?

Why!!

Raghmor’s eyes widened in anger as he suddenly realized a very serious problem, which is that the enemy may not be relying on other Nests to gain massive forces, but simply expanding their power to this extent through their own ability.

A Tier Five Insect Nest fighting a Tier Three Human Race is essentially a one-sided massacre; if not for their team being strong enough, their main base would have already been obliterated.

If the enemy had a high-tier Insect Nest....

Then why even bother fighting!

The enemy will surely grow stronger as the battle continues, and then they would undoubtedly face death.

So far, other forces have no intention of helping. In their eyes, the Insect Race couldn’t have developed this quickly and must have used other local powers as temporary support, so they could let the two sides deplete each other.

While the Sword and Shield Group would suffer heavily, it was unlikely to be wiped out, as their strength was still recognized by other forces, who believed they would resist with all their might, then fight on.

The final result will most likely be mutual destruction, beneficial to the other forces.

Of course, in fact, many forces wanted to come and be the ”mediator,” but the main reason they haven’t come is due to the long distance, the world being too vast, and the inefficiency of a long-range raid being too low for them to play that role.

”Captain, what should we do next?”

Qinghe asked with a somber expression.

”In your opinion, what are the odds we achieve a good ranking next?” Raghmor asked in return.

”None. The enemy’s Insect Race forces are very strong, and the battle has already drained too much of our team’s living strength. Even if we ultimately win and survive, we can’t compete with other forces.... We are too far behind in numbers and power.”
