Chapter 202: Draw? · Oct 14, 2026
Chapter List (202)
The crowd exploded. The Heather section went silent. Jax walked away laughing.
By the end of Day 1 and the start of Day 2, Void’s Year 4 elites began tearing through Heather’s remaining fighters. Kael. Draven. Both were monsters.
Kael’s Wind and Fire combination turned the arena into a storm of blades and flames. Draven’s Earth and Fire affinity turned the stage into a battlefield of molten stone.
Heather’s fighters fought back. They resisted. They landed attacks. They even managed to injure several Void fighters. But the obsidian rings changed everything.
Every time a Heather fighter began gaining momentum, the Void fighter’s ring flashed. 4X. Their speed increased. Their physical strength increased. Their elemental output increased. And the fights became increasingly brutal.
Bones broke. Armor shattered. Mana channels strained. By the time the sixth match appeared on the screen, Heather had already lost almost everything.
[QUEEN KIMBERLY VANE — VOID VS. DARIUS — HEATHER]
Darius stepped onto the stage. He was already exhausted. His metal armor activated around his body. Across from him, Queen Kimberly Vane walked onto the platform. She looked completely calm.
She carried no weapon. Her index finger carried the black obsidian ring. Triple S Rank affinities surrounded her, Lightning, Fire, Ice.
Darius’s eyes burned with hatred. ”I’ll rip your throat out!” He slammed both hands into the ground. Metal lances erupted. They shot toward Kimberly’s heart.
Kimberly lifted one hand. The ring flashed. 4X. Dark plasma lightning exploded outward. Fire followed. Then ice. All three elements collided into a single destructive wave.
BOOM! Darius’s metal lances melted instantly. The shockwave slammed into him. His armor peeled apart. He flew backward. Twenty meters. He hit the stage. Blood escaped his mouth.
”I...” He tried to move. His arms shook. ”I... forfeit...” The referee heard him. The crowd expected the match to end. But Kimberly walked forward. Her heels clicked against the stone. Click. Click. Click.
She stopped beside Darius. She looked down. Darius’s eyes widened. ”Wait...” Kimberly raised her right boot. Then brought it down. CRACK! The impact crushed his sternum. Darius went motionless.
The Void referee lazily raised his hand. ”Winner: Kimberly Vane.” The giant screen updated. [ HEATHER BLESSED ACADEMY — ALL REPRESENTATIVES ELIMINATED ]
Kimberly turned. She didn’t look back at Darius. Instead, her eyes traveled toward the Aether enclosure. She found Lynx. Then Ava. Lira. Ophelia. A cruel smile appeared across her lips. Then she walked away.
Julian Frostborne slammed his fist against the stone railing. Blood appeared across his knuckles. ”Lynx...” Lynx remained completely motionless. His face was a cold stone mask.
”Save your energy, Julian.” His voice was dangerously low. ”Tomorrow is ours.”
——-
By Days 3 and 4, the tournament had become something completely different. The fighters who had entered Phase 3 believing they could rely on luck had already been crushed. Only monsters remained.
The giant floating screen highlighted Match 7.
[OPHELIA DRAGWYN — AETHER BLESSED ACADEMY VS. KAIN DRAVEN — VOID BLESSED ACADEMY]
The Aether enclosure went quiet. Ophelia stood. She rolled her shoulders once. Her expression was calm. But Lynx could see the tension behind her eyes.
She knew exactly what she was facing. Kain Draven. ”Mad Dog.” A fighter who didn’t care about pain. A fighter with a 4X cheat ring. A fighter who could overpower her in a direct exchange.
Lynx looked at her. ”Don’t fight him head on.” Ophelia glanced at him. ”I know.” ”Drag him around.” She smiled. ”That’s exactly what I planned.” Lynx nodded. ”Then show him.”
Ophelia stepped toward the stage. The arena burst into a deafening roar as her name flashed across the floating arrays. Stepping onto the cold granite platform, her A Rank Earth affinity flared to its absolute peak.
Dense, heavy stone rose instantly from the surface, wrapping tightly around her forearms and upper arms like jagged gauntlets.
Earth climbed around her boots, anchoring her to the platform, while reinforced stone plating layered across her chest, shoulders, and legs.
She looked like a juggernaut forged from solid rock, her eyes locked ahead with razor focus.
Kain Draven stepped out from the opposite tunnel. His posture was loose, arrogant, and dripping with contempt.
On his right hand, the obsidian 4x cheat ring pulsed with a faint, dark violet light, forcibly amplifying his internal power output.
A chaotic mix of dense Earth and swirling, destructive Fire surged around his body, warping the air with intense heat and weight. He cracked his neck, the joints popping loudly over the noise of the crowd, then let out a slow, mocking smile.
”Yield now, little girl.”
Ophelia didn’t flinch. She glared straight into his eyes. ”Fuck off.”
The crowd exploded into wild shouts. Kain’s smile turned razor sharp. ”Fine.”
He lowered his center of gravity. The obsidian ring on his finger flashed violently.
The ground beneath him shattered into dust as Kain vanished in a blur of explosive speed.
Ophelia didn’t hesitate. She slammed both palms directly into the reinforced granite. ”EARTH WALL!”
A massive slab of solid, compressed rock erupted from the platform between them. Kain appeared instantly before it, his fist coated in boosted, fiery earth. He punched forward.
BOOM!
The massive wall disintegrated into a shower of gravel and stone fragments. But Ophelia wasn’t behind it. She was already sliding laterally across the arena floor, both hands pressed to the stone. ”EARTH SPIKES!”
Dense, jagged stone spears tore through the granite directly beneath Kain’s landing position. Kain sneered, pivoting mid air. He injected boosted Earth affinity into his leg and stomped down hard.
BOOM!
The rising stone spears exploded into powder under the force of his 4x boosted weight. Kain charged again, tearing across the distance like a runaway battering ram.
Ophelia didn’t try to meet his momentum head on. She backed away, maintaining distance while repeatedly slamming her hands against the ground.
More stone spikes snapped up from the floor in rapid succession. Kain didn’t dodge, he smashed through them with his shoulders and fists, shattering every barrier she threw up. BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
He finally burst through the last pillar, stone dust raining around him. ”STOP RUNNING!”
Ophelia wiped a streak of sweat from her forehead, her lips pulling back into a sharp grin. ”I’m not running.”
She stomped her right boot. The granite beneath Kain suddenly collapsed downward, forming a steep, crushing stone sinkhole.
Kain punched straight down into the pit, using the explosive blast of his boosted Earth and Fire to arrest his momentum.
BOOM!
The sinkhole shattered, but Ophelia had already anticipated it. The moment he destroyed the first layer of collapsing rock, she raised a second layer of dense stone pillars around him, then a third, then a fourth, boxing him into a labyrinth of solid granite.
Kain’s arrogant expression began to warp into irritation. ”You’re annoying.”
Ophelia’s eyes sharpened. ”That’s the point.”
Kain roared in frustration. His 4x ring flashed with blinding intensity. Earth and Fire exploded outward from his body in a massive radial shockwave.
Every stone pillar surrounding him crumbled into fine ash. He drove his heel into the ground and lunged forward, punching straight toward her chest.
BOOM!
The sheer atmospheric pressure of the punch shattered three consecutive Earth shields Ophelia raised in front of her. She crossed her arms, raising a heavy stone slab to catch the remaining force.
The fourth shield shattered instantly. The fifth absorbed the residual momentum, but the staggering impact drove her backward.
Her boots carved two deep, smoking furrows across the granite stage before she finally ground to a halt. She coughed, a thin line of blood trickling down her chin.
Kain saw the blood. His grin returned, wider and meaner than before. ”There.”
He charged again, kicking up chunks of the broken platform with every stride. Ophelia raised both hands, her mana surging as she pulled deep from her reserves.
The ground behind her rose in a sweeping arc, forming a monumental wall of solid, reinforced earth.
Kain smashed into it with a brutal right hook. BOOM! The wall shattered.
Behind it sat another wall. Kain punched again. BOOM! Another wall destroyed. He stepped forward and struck again. BOOM! Yet another wall crumbled into rubble.
His chest began to heave slightly as his breathing grew heavier. The relentless effort of repeatedly unleashing 4x boosted output was beginning to drain his stamina.
In the stands, the crowd began to catch on to Ophelia’s strategy.
”She’s layering her defenses!” a spectator shouted. ”She’s forcing him to waste his boosted output on inanimate stone! She’s burning through his tank!”
Kain smashed through another wall, his right fist trembling slightly from the repeated high impact strikes. ”COME OUT AND FIGHT!”
Ophelia materialized around the edge of a shattered stone pillar to his left. She didn’t launch an offensive strike. She simply pressed her boot to the floor, causing two heavy stone shackles to rise up and clamp around his ankles.
Kain turned, his face twisting with rage. ”YOU!”
He flexed his legs and blasted a wave of fire downward, shattering the shackles to pieces. But by the time he cleared the debris, Ophelia was already twenty meters away, standing behind three more freshly raised stone barriers.
The overhead match timer ticked steadily upward.
10:00... 11:00... 12:00...
Kain was growing furious. His attacks were growing more destructive, but far less precise. Ophelia’s movements, by contrast, became smaller, cleaner, and strictly calculated.
She stopped wasting unnecessary mana. A stone shackle here, a low earth wall there, a small stone pillar to deflect his momentum sideways, she utilized every inch of the stage to exhaust him.
Kain’s 4x strength made him terrifying to face, but it didn’t give him endless patience. And Ophelia was playing him like an instrument.
At the 15:00 mark, Kain finally managed to land a direct shockwave.
His boosted fist slammed into her stone barrier at point blank range. The shield detonated into shrapnel, and the residual kinetic blast caught Ophelia squarely in the chest.
BOOM!
Ophelia was lifted off her feet and thrown backward. She hit the floor hard, rolling several times before planting one palm against the platform to stop her slide.
She forced herself up onto one knee, gasping for air as blood dripped from her cheek and lip.
Kain stood a few meters away, sweating profusely as he smiled through his panting. ”Now you’re hurt.”
Ophelia wiped the blood from her cheek with the back of her hand. ”Yeah.” She pushed herself to her feet, her legs steady. ”But you’re exhausted.”
Kain’s smile flickered and died. He glanced down at his hands, his fingers were twitching, his forearms flushed red from the backfire of constantly pushing his body at four times its natural limit.
Ophelia smirked through the pain. ”That’s the difference.”
Kain let out a wild, furious roar. His ring flashed again as he charged with everything he had left.
Ophelia slammed both palms down. The entire platform violently erupted with jagged stone pillars, earth walls, and rising rock formations.
Kain smashed through them like a madman. One. Two. Three. Four. He pushed through the sea of rock, driven by pure rage. Ophelia retreated, raising fresh defenses as quickly as he destroyed them.
He finally closed the gap, swinging his boosted fist forward with brutal force. Ophelia brought up her thickest stone shield.
BOOM! It shattered instantly.
She raised another. BOOM! Destroyed.
A third shield rose, but the sheer shockwave of his blast ripped through the stone, slamming directly into her body.
Ophelia was hurled back across the stage, skidding hard across the rough floor. Blood spilled from her mouth, but she forced her body to roll, dodging Kain’s follow up stomp by inches.
The final minute arrived.
19:00. Kain charged, his movements heavy and telegraphed. Ophelia created one final earth wall. Kain smashed it apart.
19:40. Another wall rose. Destroyed.
19:50. Another wall. Destroyed.
19:55. Kain raised his fist for a killing strike, his eyes bloodshot. Ophelia crossed her stone plated forearms to block.
19:58. The final explosion of earth and fire detonated across the platform.
19:59. Kain pushed forward, trying to force her down.
20:00.
