Merging with Demon Spirits

Chapter 402: Chapter 299: Absorbing Illusion (2)

It is also one of the most crucial soul skills.

Therefore, failure is not an option.

If it fails, it will be difficult to find another Six-winged Illusion Python.

Only the Nightmare can absorb this soul skill with 100% certainty.

This is one of the reasons Lin Feng ultimately decided to let the Nightmare absorb it.

Moreover, the soul skill absorbed by the Nightmare can fully exert its effect even when not in the state of Demon Transformation, which is a great advantage.

Especially now, Lin Feng’s situation is very precarious.

With a bounty worth billions on him, attracting countless assassins, he also faces assassination threats from other apostle candidates.

Even if he becomes an apostle and joins the ’Pure Land’ in the future, he would likely be walking on thin ice.

If he can absorb the Illusion, it would give him another trump card and ensure greater safety.

Although absorbing the Six-winged Illusion Python would make the Nightmare stronger, if one day in the future a method to expel the Nightmare from his body is found, with the disappearance of the Nightmare, the soul skill would also vanish, which would be a waste of a blessing.

But now, he can’t bother about that.

Safety is more important!

Without life, nothing else matters!

Moreover, only by strengthening the Nightmare does Lin Feng have the confidence to help Ye Qiu absorb the Diamond Soul Skill.

Thinking of this, Lin Feng no longer hesitated. He closed his eyes, and when he opened them, his originally pitch-black pupils had two dark red vortexes swirling continuously, looking incredibly sinister.

A ghost shadow, dark red like a ghost, enveloped him entirely, burning like a flame, but it brought no warmth, only an icy chill that pierced the bones.

Immediately, an evil and bloody aura erupted violently from Lin Feng’s body.

This aura was more intense and vivid than before.

The flickering, twisting ghost shadow seemed to have its own consciousness, wanting to descend into the human world.

Not just the aura, but there would be low whispers lingering by the ear.

Clearer and more enticing, it was like a secret whisper telling something.

Speaking of his hatred, the desire for this body.

Although it wasn’t the first time undergoing Nightmare Possession, every time it sent chills down Lin Feng’s spine.

He could clearly feel an evil and cold power, gradually corroding and assimilating his body, this feeling was like an abnormal conjoined person.

One body, but two heads, two different souls.

And both souls wanted to claim this body as their own.

This feeling made him shiver slightly.

Yet at the same time, the perfect control over his body in the Demon Transformation state made Lin Feng somewhat addicted.

Fortunately, Lin Feng didn’t immerse himself in this feeling, quickly regaining his senses, because the more time he wasted, the more the assimilation progressed.

After Demon Possession, Lin Feng took out the Six-winged Illusion Python from the Demon-Sealing Soul Artifact.

The Six-winged Illusion Python, a Ninth Grade Demon Beast, powerful and naturally violent, even after death becomes a Demon Spirit, retains its nature.

But at this moment in Lin Feng’s hand, it was trembling, as if it had encountered a natural enemy.

When Lin Feng absorbed it into the Soul Sea, he could clearly feel the fear of the Six-winged Illusion Python, it trembled wanting to escape, but seemed to be suppressed, allowing the Nightmare to erode and devour it step by step.

”Indeed, apart from the rare Diamond Soul Skills, this Evil Spirit generally won’t refine other soul skills.”

Seeing the Nightmare taking initiative, showing a desire, Lin Feng thought to himself.

Although he refined the Nightmare, Lin Feng couldn’t completely control this Demon Spirit.

The Nightmare has its own consciousness.

As its power grew stronger, the Nightmare’s intelligence also increased.

Lin Feng could undergo Nightmare Possession, could borrow the Nightmare’s strength to help the Dragon Fish absorb soul skills, but he couldn’t make the Nightmare absorb soul skills.

Lin Feng had tried, all to no avail.

The Nightmare was very picky about the soul skills it absorbed; average soul skills wouldn’t even get its attention, even Diamond Soul Skills were no exception.

The two soul skills the Nightmare absorbed were self-actuated, not driven by Lin Feng.

Originally Lin Feng worried the Nightmare wouldn’t absorb the Six-winged Illusion Python, seems like it was unnecessary worry.

Apparently, this picky creature also knew the value of the Six-winged Illusion Python.

The process of absorbing the soul skill encountered no obstacle; under the devouring by the Nightmare, the Six-winged Illusion Python could not resist at all.

Because it couldn’t resist, the process of absorbing the soul skill went very smoothly.

As the Six-winged Illusion Python was devoured, a cold energy spread from the Soul Sea, like waves, beginning to sweep through every corner of Lin Feng’s body.

Under this power, Lin Feng’s body couldn’t help trembling, feeling he’d freeze solid, the internal organs more fragile than the body, a sharp pain radiating from within, slowing blood flow and making breathing rapid.

This is the absorption of Demon Spirit, the change of body by the power of Demon Spirit.

In the face of bodily pain, controlling the Lifebound Demon Spirit to devour the Demon Spirit increased the difficulty many times over, causing many people to fail in absorbing soul skills.

However, Lin Feng was not worried.

Because the Nightmare didn’t require his control, this bit of pain was nothing to him.

In less than a minute, the Six-winged Illusion Python completely disappeared, and the chill within quickly subsided. Compared to before, though the Qi and Blood did not increase, the body became more solid and compact.

Simultaneously, the Nightmare’s aura became more formidable.

Compared to the first time devouring a Demon Spirit’s agitation and excitement, this time the Nightmare was much calmer.

Calm!

From another perspective, it also represents that the Nightmare is already able to control its emotions, with increasing intelligence.

This, for Lin Feng, is clearly not good news!

Lin Feng exited the Demon Transformation state.

The soul skill quietly released.

Lin Feng stood quietly in place, his body slightly distorted as if illusory, but eventually returned to normal.

Lin Feng’s face was somewhat pale.

In just three seconds, his Soul Power was already depleted.

”Too weak in power, not enough Soul Power, can’t completely phantomize.”

Lin Feng smiled bitterly.

Divine Level soul skills, even if absorbed, are not so easily wielded.

The higher the level of the soul skill, the greater the requirements for the body or Soul Power.

Illusion’s requirements for physical constitution aren’t high, but its demands on Soul Power are very high.

With Lin Feng’s current Soul Power, making his whole body illusory is clearly not possible.

Even making a third of it is tough.

After consuming a Soul Nourishing Pill, half an hour passed, when the Soul Power recovered, Lin Feng extended his right hand, the fair right hand gradually faded, eventually disappearing, leaving only a hand composed of pale blue clouds.

And at this moment, Lin Feng suddenly felt as if his right hand had vanished.

Unable to control, no sensation!

Lin Feng touched his right hand with his left, encountering no obstacle, passed directly through the pale blue cloud.

Sss... ssss...

Accompanied by a piercing sound of electrical currents, Lin Feng’s left hand released a powerful current, under which the cloud-converted right hand held no perception.

Seven seconds later, with Soul Power overdraft, the right hand returned to normal, showing no signs of injury.

”Truly a Divine Level soul skill, as long as Illusion is performed, ordinary physical attacks are nothing to worry about, the only concern is energy attacks, if too powerful, might render this soul skill ineffective.”

Lin Feng’s face showed a slight smile; he was very satisfied with this soul skill.

Having absorbed four of the five Combined Soul Skills, only one remains!
