Merging with Demon Spirits

Chapter 280: Chapter 212: Nightmare and Celestial Punishment

”Be careful!”

Yun Kai exclaimed anxiously, his gaze locking onto the Red Sword, as he swiftly extended his right hand and grasped it firmly.

Controlling metal was the second innate skill granted to Yun Kai by the Lifebound Demon Spirit, the Golden Lion King.

But at this moment, Yun Kai discovered with surprise that he couldn’t control the Red Sword.

Although he could sense it, the sword seemed to have its own consciousness, not only resisting his control, but an evil aura surged along his Soul Power into his Soul Sea.

At this moment, Yun Kai’s body suddenly grew feverish, his blood feeling like it was about to boil, as if wanting to escape from his body.

In Yun Kai’s Soul Sea, the Golden Lion King let out an angry roar, shattering this evil aura, and the feverish and boiling sensation quickly subsided.

Facing his uncontrollable right hand and the incoming Red Sword, Lin Feng remained calm and composed, his Soul Sea slightly quivering as the aura of the Nightmare was released, a presence tenfold or even a hundredfold more evil than the Red Sword’s flashed momentarily.

This aura caused Dong Yunan and the others to shudder slightly, their eyes filled with fear, unable to suppress a shiver.

The Red Sword, which had been fiercely struggling in Lin Feng’s hand, ceased its vibrations instantly, emitting an even sharper scream.

The sound carried a sense of terror and dread.

”An evil sword, is it?”

Lin Feng gently caressed the sword’s body, as it trembled slightly in his hand, seemingly torn between struggling and being fearful, quivering with trepidation.

”Why does this feel familiar? Is it because of this evil, bloody aura, or because it’s an alien weapon?”

Lin Feng pondered.

Through the alien cultivation techniques and alien blood, Lin Feng was certain that Nightmare and the alien race were connected, and since this sword could excite the Nightmare so much, it was likely also an alien weapon.

Seeing Lin Feng seemingly tame the ominous sword, Yun Kai and the others were not only incredulous but also somewhat shocked. However, that fleeting terrifying aura left them still restless.

Only Yue Mingming was nonchalant.

Only he knew that the source of that more evil aura wasn’t the Red Sword but was coming from Lin Feng himself.

It was Lin Feng’s bloodline talent.

A talent that others would envy.

”Brother Feng, do you intend to choose this sword?” Yun Kai asked.

In his view, this Red Sword was extremely dangerous and could backfire on its owner. Although it seemed tame now, no one could tell if it might go berserk one day.

If it went mad during battle, it could cost one’s life.

”Don’t waste time, go pick your own spiritual artifact, I know what I’m doing,” Lin Feng said.

Although Yun Kai still had some concerns, he knew Lin Feng’s decisions were unchangeable by anyone, so he stopped persuading and started selecting his own spiritual artifact.

As the others chose their spiritual artifacts, Lin Feng observed the Red Sword in his hand. The dark red blade had no engravings, but faintly exuded a slight bloody scent.

”This color and material don’t seem like metal, but more like a gemstone.”

Lin Feng was very interested in this Red Sword. Although it was somewhat damaged, with some notches on the blade, it was very spiritual.

Spirituality, to some extent, also indicates the level and power of a spiritual artifact.

The more powerful the spiritual artifact, the more spiritual it is. Besides spirituality, the aura of this sword was also very terrifying; a sinister, bloody aura with the effect of unsettling one’s Qi and Blood, causing dizziness and nausea.

In battle, it could disrupt the enemy, which was quite a significant advantage.

What enticed Lin Feng even more was how similar the aura of this sword was to the Nightmare, both evil and bloody.

If he could refine it, when the Nightmare Possession occurred, the Nightmare’s aura wouldn’t be as conspicuous.

This alone swayed Lin Feng’s decision.

In his Dantian, waves of Spiritual Power surged out, enveloping the Red Sword with blue-purple Spiritual Power, trying to refine it, but against Lin Feng’s power, the Red Sword started to resist, emanating red light from the blade to repel his Spiritual Power.

No matter how Lin Feng urged his Spiritual Power, this resisting force remained, steadfastly holding its ground.

Lin Feng could sense that if it weren’t for the Nightmare’s aura earlier, intimidating and making the sword wary, this red energy might not have just resisted but possibly backfired on him.

Lin Feng could feel the Red Sword’s restless, suppressed ferocity, and murderous intent.

”This sword fears the Nightmare’s aura, so what about blood?”

Lin Feng had a thought flash through his mind, his left index finger gliding across the blade, as droplets of fresh blood dripped onto the sword’s body, and the original resistance began to vanish rapidly.

”Does it really absorb blood?”

A trace of astonishment flashed in Lin Feng’s eyes; what was mere speculation turned out to be true.

He saw the blood not simply dripping down the blade but instead merging into it, and the Red Sword trembled slightly, the dark red blade emitting faint red light, with a notch in the original blade even beginning to repair itself automatically.

Although this repair was very slow and almost negligible, Lin Feng noticed it.

”Has the refinement succeeded?”

As the blood merged into the long sword, Lin Feng could feel a special connection forming between himself and the Red Sword, and when this connection formed, he seemed to sense the Red Sword’s excitement and craving for his blood!

It seemed to quite enjoy the taste of his blood.

The blade moved, approaching his wound.

It seemed to want to drink more!

This sword seemed to have its own consciousness, conveying a desire to feed more, even though Lin Feng ignored it, but several drops of blood still flowed out automatically, seeping into the blade.
