Chapter 427: Chapter 427 I’ll Teach You a Lesson_1

Hearing Shen Jie’s accusation, Shen Xiaoqin hesitated for a moment and said softly, ”As for Yi Chen’s matters, I don’t get involved, you see, it’s all being handled by Chen’er and Lin Lin. Moreover, I’ve heard that their company is likely to lay off employees, so...”

”Layoffs? Haha!”

Shen Jie burst into laughter, his voice dripping with sarcasm as he said, ”Auntie, can you come up with a better excuse? Yi Chen has just acquired Sky Venerate City and has made sweeping cuts, they are actually short-staffed right now. And you’re telling me Yi Chen is going to lay people off? If you don’t want to help, just say so directly; is there a need to be so hypocritical?”

”Xiaoqin, that’s going too far! Your family has become so wealthy, yet you’re unwilling to share even a little with us, which is one thing, but now you won’t even give Xiao Jie a job. What does that make you? It’s simply inhumane to be so rich!” Shen Mingtao scolded in a low voice.

There was a soft click as the villa’s door was opened, and a figure walked inside.

”Auntie, we’re all family here. How can you treat us this way? Are you living up to our ancestors’ expectations? Grandpa and grandma have passed away, my dad is your elder brother, and as the saying goes, ’the eldest brother is like a father.’ What you are doing is utterly disrespectful!”

But as Shen Jie and the others were fuming, they didn’t notice:

”Auntie, have you become so rich that you’ve forgotten your own ancestors? Over these years, wasn’t it us who took care of grandpa and grandma at home, while you enjoyed yourself outside? Do you even have a conscience?”

”Exactly, you’re so ungrateful! Shen Xiaoqin, have you no shame? Do you still consider yourself part of the Shen family? Xiao Jie is your nephew; how can you bear to watch him struggle to work outside? You have your own company, yet you let your family member labor for others; have you lost your conscience to dogs?”

Shen Mingtao also cursed out loud, initially fearing Jiang Chen’s capabilities, but now seeing Shen Xiaoqin not even arguing back, he suddenly grew bolder.

Shen Xiaoqin, watching the two cursing loudly, looked increasingly distressed, feeling a pang of desolation in her heart, and finally, she understood why Jiang Chen didn’t allow relatives into the company. What would the company become if these kinds of relatives were to join?

”Auntie, I see it clearly now; you really don’t want to acknowledge us poor relatives anymore! Wow, the wealthy you thinks we poor relatives would embarrass you, right? Truly, your conscience is utterly rotten!” Seeing Shen Xiaoqin not responding, Shen Jie’s criticisms grew even more vigorous!

”Enough!”

Suddenly, a furious shout rang out, causing all three people in the living room to startle and turn their heads, and Shen Mingtao’s expression violently shifted.

”Chen’er? You’ve come back?” Shen Xiaoqin asked in surprise.

Jiang Chen nodded at Shen Xiaoqin and came over to Shen Jie with a grim expression.

”So you’re cousin Jiang Chen? You’ve come back just in time. Tell us about your mother. She...” Shen Jie, looking very self-righteous, began to speak to Jiang Chen, ready to accuse Shen Xiaoqin.

”Slap—” A crisp slap resounded as Jiang Chen fiercely slapped Shen Jie across the face.

Thump!

Shen Jie was sent tumbling onto the sofa by the slap.

”What—what are you doing? Why are you hitting people?” Shen Mingtao’s face turned pale as he shouted, emboldened by Shen Xiaoqin being nearby.

”Chen’er!” Shen Xiaoqin reached out and grabbed Jiang Chen’s arm.

Jiang Chen glanced at Shen Xiaoqin and then turned his head to stare at Shen Mingtao and his son Shen Jie with a cold voice, ”Why? This is my house, and you come to my place asking my mom for help, yet you dare to insult her? Does my mom owe you anything? Do you think this is your right? Who do you think you are? Since your son is so ill-behaved, of course, I have to discipline him and let him know his place!”

”You, you... He’s still just a kid!” Shen Mingtao got flustered, thinking of Jiang Chen’s skills. If Jiang Chen was determined to teach Shen Jie a lesson, Shen Jie couldn’t bear it!

Slap!

Jiang Chen backhandedly slapped Shen Mingtao across the face and pointed at his nose as he bellowed, ”He’s a child? Then you’re not, right? Huh? You, someone who can’t even teach his own child, dare to come to my house and make a fuss, I think you also need a lesson. Out of respect for my mother, get the hell out of here now!”

”You...” Shen Jie tried to argue, but Shen Mingtao dragged him towards the door, clearly aware of Jiang Chen’s ruthlessness!

Xuan Long at the doorway saw the two running out, and with one of them sporting an imprint of a palm on his face, he sneered coldly, simultaneously understanding the kind of attitude he should have towards this father and son pair from then on!

”Chen’er, how could you hit your uncle? How could you do that?” Shen Xiaoqin was stunned until she heard the door closing and then came to her senses.

Jiang Chen’s cold face softened, and he smiled.

He would never show his mother a stern face, so he chuckled and said, ”When it comes to these evil people, I have to be cruel, don’t I? Even if they think of me as a demon, I don’t care because this is how I can protect Mom and Gong Lin and others. But to good people like you, Mom, I can bow and apologize. Mom, sorry for startling you, please accept your son’s apology!”

As he said this, Jiang Chen, pretending to be serious, bowed deeply to Shen Xiaoqin.

”You child,” Shen Xiaoqin was amused, tapping Jiang Chen’s forehead.

Jiang Chen giggled before calmly continuing, ”Mom, as for those opportunistic relatives, we should cut them off directly, but if you think there are any decent relatives, you can tell me too, I’ll help if I can.”

Shen Xiaoqin was taken aback, a touch of relief appearing in her eyes. She reached out to touch Jiang Chen’s head, ”Chen’er has grown up, you decide, I’ll listen to you!”

...

Shen Mingtao and his son ran out of the garden villa and turned to look at the villa’s gate, then walked towards a Mercedes parked by the Dinyun Lake.

Getting into the car, a man on the passenger side spoke indifferently, ”So? Were you able to get into Yi Chen?”

”Yue, Young Master Yue, sorry, Jiang Chen didn’t agree, and he kicked us out!” Shen Mingtao spoke shakily.

The man in the passenger seat suddenly turned to glare at Shen Mingtao. If Jiang Chen were here, he would recognize him; this man was Yue Long, the young master of one of the Four Great Aristocratic Families, the Yue Family.

”Kicked out?” A cold light flashed in Yue Long’s eyes, ”You were kicked out and you have the face to get in my car? Get the hell out!”

The faces of Shen Mingtao and his son changed, with Shen Jie urgently saying, ”Young Master Yue, didn’t you say...”

”What did I say? I said if you could get into Yichen Company and help us take down Yi Chen, I’d secure a lifetime of glory for you. And now you can’t even get into Yi Chen, and you want to talk terms with me? Get lost!” Yue Long yelled out.

The man in the driver’s seat opened the door, got out of the car, walked to the rear door, and opened it. He grabbed Shen Jie by the collar and yanked him out of the car.
