Master Of None

Chapter 2954: 2954. Imprisoned

The taller figure of the pitch scale dragon that had been kept on show for who knew how many years finally bent. Walker swore he could hear the moment that the weight on their shoulders finally was released. The moment that they finally breathed without a contract bound to them.

”You used contracts to bind many to follow your way of life. While some at certain points might have been fair, the terms I see on contracts were now servitude for a lifetime for a single meal. Some people you even had bound to contracts just to stand on display like items. That is unacceptable.”

There was panic in the movements of the hollow eyed race member present. Their guards had turned and were looking at them with fury. The strength that they had bound to them to protect them for a lifetime was now their greatest threat.

”You will not harm them!” Mordant roared out, his words shocking everyone and everything in the surroundings.

As a dark dragon, the pitch scaled dragons believed that he would have sided with them and protected them. Allowed them their chance at revenge. Yet, he roared against them now?

”You will join Genesis if you so desire. You will have a chance to learn the way of equality that you were denied as others within Genesis have learned now. But you will not be allowed to murder and harm. If this is to happen you would be hunted and imprisoned within genesis as those who can not be equal. Were those who become monsters instead of proper dragons.”

His words echoed through the city halting any of those freed from contracts. They had been ready to get revenge. Their emotions swirl in a storm within their hearts. It was understandable.

”The hollow eyed race will be banned from Genesis. Banned from contracts. Banned from trade. They will be banned until they return this land to the fruitful and beautiful state it should be in. It will be returned as the nature of this land should have been. After that, after generations of work. You will be allowed to apply for a singular contract to be equal within Genesis as others shall.”

The statement made the pitch scale dragons angrier until those with more wisdom halted the younger ones.

They understood that by requesting this, it was imprisoning the hollow eyed race within their own self made prison. That they were literally trapped within a land that could not provide for them because they had killed it. Unless they changed entirely, they would fail to survive.

Let alone use their contract skills that their people relied on so greatly.

”That is as you heard it. Mordant is a royal dark drgan. Ventus a royal wind dragon. Terron a royal earth dragon. All equal to me and one of the people representing Genesis. Your punishment will be carried out and I will ensure that it remains as such.”

Walker had spread his mana senses further out and could feel every thread of mana on a contract. So many were being extinguished while he focused, but even more so he realized that the hollow eyed race had destroyed so much more of their territory than he believed earlier.

He could sense mana all the way in to what should have been wilderness. Piles of trash and waste. Nothing able to break it down in a natural cycle. Just stagnation because that was all that had been allowed. Even the smallest of insect monsters had been killed off or harvested by the greedy deals of the hollow eyed race.

”Your people could have been destroyed once you caused too much harm. But you are lucky that the true dark sage and the dark king left this to our hands. If you believe they do not know, then you forget that the dark king is literally the embodiment of the dark elemental alone. You are blessed that they are allowing your people a chance to change.”

There was hatred now. A hot anger fueld hatred seeing that what they ahd was taken.

”We are not takign the materials, seeds, and tools you alreayd possess. We are leaving you to your territory to repair it. We are halting the chances to form contracts with anyone that is not your own race. We are blocking you from traveling outsid eof here. You see, it will cost you all your resources and hoarded wealth in every form to ensure that this land begins to flourish again.” Ventus laughed slightly allowing the strength of her wind to be shown as it pushed away dark mana around her body.

Her force was always held back, but showing her strength, the hollow eyed race members now angry were stricken with even greater fear.

For another from outside their elemental plane to be here and show so much force was to be called a calamity. But it was controlled, protecting the elemental plane from damage. It was shocking and terrifying to know that if Venus wished she could release wind mana and cause the dark and wind mana to clash violently.

”Terron, please take the leaders of the pitch scaled race to begin moving their belongings and people out of here. Mordant, I trust you can assist the other races also bound by contracts. They will also be protected. Ventus, you have things handled here. I will follow some odd feelings of mana and make sure nothing dangerous is left here that can’t be handled without more care.”

The reason that Walker had separated himself and the others was to make this quicker. He also wanted to shake off the horrid act he was putting on while getting the leader of the hollow eyed race out here. He knew that they were not a king but they had the greatest power to throw around. The most force to use in terms of their race. It was the best way to make progress without force even though he could have done that.

It would have ended in violence and that was not how he wished for the pitch scaled dragon race to begin a new life. It should be in severing ties with those who put them in a poor horrible situation and moving forward on a new path of peaceful growth.

”You did very well.” The flickering dark shadow of a golem made by the true dark sage appeared. They had been watching carefully but clearly this was also part of their plan.

”I didn’t like how they abused others with contracts. That skill could be used to help and ensure safety in contracts with other merchants. Could be used to ensure prisoners don’t fail their punishments. It could be used in hundreds of better ways, but instead they used it to force people to do whatever they desired at massive harm to themselves potentially? That was atrocious.”

The true dark sage did not disagree with this. They too were unhappy with the situation. Yet that did not warrant their full attention with the smaller dark elemental planes being added to the greater dark elemental planes lately. Their priority was the overall balance after all.

”The materials, gems, and weapons are pointless. You already know this. You sensed the eggs gathered by the dragons as part of their duties. The monsters trapped and forced to be bred for their materials. Free them or end them. You will make the correct choices.”

Walker knew too well about all of this. Even as the mana faded and he sensed a wall of dark mana being made to keep this territory isolated, he could tell.

The true dark sage knew of the issues and was waiting for him to arrive here again. Luckily, he had been able to nudge the pitch scaled dragons toward Mordant as the bridge passed through this territory. It was lucky and perfect.

The mana Walker sensed was denser. It was also just below the massive degrading mansions that the hollow eyed race had made.

Their powerful people had created breeding areas and cages to keep pets in. some being rare monsters that could be harvested at any point. Others are valuable specimens to show off as art pieces. None of them being able to live as they wished or being tamed by tamers that treated them as family.

They were just there as toys on an endless list of bad deeds.

As Walker made his way there and in to the undergrounds, he was even more disgusted.

The pitch scaled dragons who had guarded this area were now looking for ways to free the monsters they had been forced to capture. Yet, he also saw a few confused and fearful of what to do. Some needed more attention, more care. Walker could give the answers needed though. That was why he came here first.
